Just nipped to B and Q with OH and made a bit of an idiot of myself!
Was stood at the paint mixing counter buying paint for the kitchen, and as its on offer at the moment (3 for 2) I said to OH 'it's a shame we don't know what colour baby is going to be' (obviously meaning pink or blue!). The guy at the counter just looked at me in stunned silence!
PMSL to be fair I have no idea either as I'm brown and OH is a very pale white.
I'll hold back on the calpol purchase for now, the red cross course made it seem like a thermometer and calpol was necessary in case of child running a high temperature.
By the pantyliners I meant the increased discharge you get in the last few weeks of pregnancy, not the show/ plug.0 -
The mylo isn't huge. ... Depends exactly on your budget though. ... as all the hatchback style cars have similar boot sizes and once the prams in there isn't much room for anything else!!
Thank you Bangton!
It's good to hear the Mylo isn't huge, it is arriving next week, so fingers crossed. Our budget is minimal at best, the only reason we can afford anything is because we are trading in our two cars for one. We both drive KAs, so I was hoping to stick with a relatively small car, but as you say, the boots on such cars are less than generous!
Though expensive, we are quite intrigued by the Kia Rio (bigger than the Picanto) but until the pram is delivered I don't really know! I think we are both convinced that we don't want to opt for a smaller car and split the seats, it just doesn't seem safe enough.Never put tables and chairs in the same room.
If they congregate together for any length of time, they will inevitably hatch plots against you and your pets.

But hey why order more, I wanted a nice sleep bag and just because I got £15 off didn't = having to go crazy and order more. I liked the look of the changing bag as well and didn't mind paying £3.99 for delivery. It was only free delivery when you spent £60 anyway.
Got this through post too and was tempted but we've got plenty of everything and I've just bought a new changing bag. Stuff does look lovely but nothing jumped out at me so will probably leave it.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Amus - that is priceless. I actually did laugh out loud and then had to read it to my husband.
Fluffysox - I agree, it's only worth buying something if you honestly find something you like. It's like anything with an offer is only good if you need the item to begin with. I just fell in love with one sleep bag, other items I was like hmmmm maybe, but then decided no, if I was questioning it, it means I wasn't that interested.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Neither of my LOs had any problems teething, and neither wore bracelets/anklets.
Sorry that wasn't meant rudely, I was just highlighting that with teething its a case of some babies suffer, some babies don't, irrespective of bracelets/anklets.
And if you get an easy time with first teeth you might be in for hell on earth with molars and vice versa!
We had an awful time with Erin and teething - she cut the first ones really really late (13 months) and then got five in one week - but had teething pain and drool for months. Molars - total breeze - the whacking great huge ones popped through no bother at all.
These days I keep Calpol and baby Nurofen in the house to have on hand when needed - didn't buy either in advance of them coming (and couldn't use it for jabs anyway since they were so prem they were getting jabbed before their due dates would have been!)Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Continualdiamond - thanks for the tip, there was a coat/gro bag coat that we were considering buying. How do you get the changing bag though? The offer I can see is for a free abacus, which we wouldn't want.:cool:DD1 June 1997

I was wondering that too, I know its normally a code but the book I had through the post is for a cow pull a long toy which we really don't need!!
I really like Vertbaudet, never ever pay full price there is ALWAYS a code lurking somewhere for money off/ free gift etc. The clothes are very good quality but are on the small side as someone else pointed out. I've had some good freebies too like wooden toys/ etc
Anyone elses baby feel very low? I am sure its where she's meant to be, but sometimes when she wriggles/ hiccups it really doesn't feel like theres much between her and the outside world...
Re: Calpol I probably wouldn't bother buying any unless you need it once baby is here. I think its suitable from 2 months anyway? I don't think we used it for jabs but my son has a v weak immune system like me so catches everything going. He's always getting chest/ ear infections and when he has a temperature I often give him some as he is hot/ miserable/ in pain. He was fine with teething though and had his first teeth at 8 weeks then the rest popped through before he was even 1.
LOL Amus!! That's very funny! x
I can't remember who was saying but I often poke/ prod baby to work out how she's lying, DH is always telling me off! Its not like I am being rough though. She's still lay head down, kinda curled into a ball so bum under ribs and legs tucked in. She does have kicking sessions though but my bump feels bigger than my last pregnancy but neater if that makes sense?! My son had his legs stretched out most of the time which was so uncomfortable and made my bump look wider IYGWIM!
Had a play with Ewan the dream sheep last night, I couldn't really work out all of the sounds but it seems quite soothing/ soft/ cute. Just hope baby likes it too! I have this horrible feeling my son is going to claim it as his own!
Just over 27 weeks nowtimes going fairly quick! I've got another 4D scan coming up soon which I am looking forward to. Also got my next MW appt for Anti D jab x

Onetreehillgirl - my Dh has a Kia Rio and its lovely. Boot
Is a decent size for the size of the car, though for the pushchair we've gone for (a kiddicare one), we do have to remove the wheels to fit the frame in, but it does all fit in the boot. Best to take your pushchair along with you and see what it fits in best, I'm sure the garage won't mind if it means you'll buy a car! I have the Venga which is a bit bigger than the Rio and has masses of room, theres a compartment under the boot floor where a changing bag and other stuff could go, and the back seats slide forward/back to add room
To the boot while still keeping all the seats upright. I thought it would be too big for me to start with, as the biggest car I've driven before is a fiesta, but as you sit high up its actually the easiest thing I've ever drove. Though to convince me on the test drive they let me drive it home and check I was happy reversing if off our drive (we have a shared access to our house so have to reverse past walls and cars to actually get to the road). So easy to reverse off now I wish I'd changed my car sooner.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
