You're probably right about position, hoping your baby and mine start behaving and get into correct position just in time ;)

    .

Does no one else poke and prod their baby around? It sounds bad to say it like that but mine keeps lying sideways (Maybe mine is bigger then your twos as its measuring two weeks ahead ?) and I know this because I can feel to hard lumps either side of my stomach, and when baby is in the right postion its right under my ribs and you can feel the back down the right side of my stomach.

If I find baby is in sideways postion I tend to re-adjust just myself so baby has less room at the sides so it moves back into the middle and sometimes I'll even prod it abit to get it moving.... >.>

Either slap me or tell me what I am doing is right but I don't want a breech baby...

Finally finished work woo hoo!! Can't say I will miss it for a year TBH, will have my hands full with three LO's!! Looking forward to not missing all the things I have had to miss because of work, didn't get to go to DS1s first sports day and have missed out on a few fun days I would have liked to have taken them to over the summer hols.

I agree re. Cradle cap shampoo don't buy it unless you need it. Funnily enough DS2 never got it as a baby even though he was born with loads of hair but for some reason has started getting it now at 3?? Have tried brushing it out (and have been a bit naughty and picked at it) but that's not worked so bought shampoo last week which seems to be working.

there are lots of suggestions and theory about moving babies here http://www.spinningbabies.com/ . Hope that helps.

I'm still doing things wrong but after months of sleeping on my left side it's quite nice to be on my right for a bit!

I got my hair dyed yesterday at the hairdressers and had to sign to say I was happy to have it done even tho I'm pregnant! I read the dye leaflets and it didn't say it wasn't suitable for pregnant women.
  • I could be totally wrong with how my baby is positioned. I'm only going on what movements I see. I have an anterior placenta so I don't actually feel baby directly in the middle of my tummy, I only see the movements.

If I'm not looking at my tummy I only feel movements at the sides. I've never been able to feel an outline of my baby, nor have I seen a movement that's been like 'ooo that's a foot'. I've had so many people say wait until you see a in print of a foot push your skin out.

I prod my tummy sometimes, but again no idea if that's making baby go into the right position.

re the hair dressers, I've had mine dyed twice since being pregnant. I was desperate the 1st time as I did wait until I was past the 12 week stage, it just looked horrid. I checked with my midwife 1st who just suggested I waited until I was past 12 weeks and if I was worried about it that having highlights put in rather than full head colour was better due to it not going onto your scalp. For my peace of mind I've had highlights put in both times and then a quick root touch up that's been left on for 10 minutes.

Morning ladies; hope everyone is having a good Saturday so far? I have a wash on full of new baby stuff, can't wait to hang it on the line; might have to take a picture :D

Re baby's positions; I had my 34 week appointment yesterday. The midwives have changed all their rotas as one has gone on mat leave so I had a different one and her student. It was great because not only was the new midwife much more chatty and informative; she also had to explain everything for the student's benefit so I found out loads!

Baby is apparently lying head down, 4/5 engaged and the little lump I keep feeling poking out just below my ribs on the right hand side is a heel/foot! I sometimes poke it back in because it hooks under my ribs :D
First baby due October 2013 :j

Big congratulations to MV & Courgette (and the rest of the ladies who have given birth) :j:j

If anyone would like to add me to the list, I am due 19th Nov, having a surprise :D

I have been on holiday for most of August, so might be in a better position to keep up to date with the threads now!

Everything seems to going ok so far for me. Had the yacky glucose test yesterday and I have a UTI so have got some antibiotics for that now. Baby is very wriggly which I love :D Time seems to be flying by a lot more now - its quite scary how quickly in fact! I don't feel in the slightest bit organised with anything

I'm always convinced baby has turned but in fact I have been feeling heels/knees in my side for a few days now and my baby heartbeat app picks up a loud heartbeat very low down so must still be head down.

Just picked up our buggy from the depot, just the cot to come on weds then we have all the big stuff. Getting real now!
  • TMI alert. when or did anyone start using pantliners? don't think I do need them just yet but was wondering if they were a must buy.
I have washable sanitary pads which I used to put in towards the end last time if I was going out but I can't remember exactly when from. (I was virtually only going out for medical appointments anyway due to how ill I was.)
  • Is calpol a mustbuy too?
We're onto our third bottle of infant paracetamol since DD1 (who is six) was born and I think we've given it to the one year old once. You should be able to get it on the minor ailment scheme or prescribed by your Dr anyway so there's no need to buy it.
