Morning all. Hope your ok. Congrats sitting on a star. .. any names yet? Need to catch up on the thread properly but I just needed to post, it's my last day at work for a year and while I expected to feel elated I'm so anxious I could vomit! I won't struggle while on leave but won't have same the earning opportunity I have now either. I can't get my head round not working.. it takes up 60hrs of my week with the commute. I'm truly lost! Sorry to be pathetic but I'm struggling to tell anyone around me as they all expect me to be delighted. I am. ..can't wait for my baby I just wish there was a way I could work a little too!Hugs Bangton I know exactly what you mean I felt the same yesterday when I finished for 13 months! I found it hard to explain to people that I find it a bit surreal and don't think it'll properly sink in fir a couple of weeks yet. I have been reliably informed though that once baby is here I will soon forget about work!! Enjoy your last day and the attention! I had a great day yesterday and was thoroughly spoilt!! XBeNiceToMySelf wrote: »I enjoy my job too and I'm glad some people enjoy it so much that they'll miss it! I have so many hobbies that I find it easy to fill my time so I don't get bored when I have time away from work. I'll still be popping into work every now and then to visit with baby. I have to say I'm really looking forward to time off to concentrate on baby and home and OH. 35+0
My last day today. Got spoilt with presents for baby and me (Lush gift box) and taken out for lunch. Didn't get everything done but am fine with that and will do it next week with feet up. Am also going to have the person covering my job come to house for a handover ! All because my end date has advanced a month. I will be on sick leave for 3 weeks and then mat leave will have to start (4 weeks before due date). As I am going to be having a section 2 weeks early it means only 2 weeks before which is good news for stretching mat leave a bit further.
All seems strange though.0 -

Hi ladies,
I saw someone posted about getting some shampoo for cradle cap, save yourself some money, my lo had cradle cap and we just washed his hair and then lightly brushed against the cap, it flaked off, took a few baths but they never came back!
So save your pennies! Hope this helpsNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -

continualdiamond wrote: »Fluffysox - I'm guessing you're a teacher? I'm a teaching assistant and work in a special needs school. I could never been a teacher, the amount of extra that is done away from work is unreal. I'm not saying my job is easy, it's not, I was moved classrooms with 6 weeks to go until the end of the school year due to behaviour of a pupil that was then deemed an unsafe classroom for me.
Thank you for the tips though re surestart etc. Things like this I need as my family are all back home in Australia and hubby is an only child. I don't have a close relationship with my inlaws, I get on with them okay but that's it. I don't want to fall into the trap of being on my own with a baby all day every day in the house with no adult contact.
I think my baby is laying across, though I'm no expert of course so could be totally wrong. I only say that because I get big movements across the middle of my tummy and can then feel a hard lump on one side which I tend to assume is the head whilst then getting movements on the other side of my tummy and assume its feet kicking out at me. I guess I'll find out more next Thursday on that one.
You're probably right about position, hoping your baby and mine start behaving and get into correct position just in time
Yes I teach teenage boys, reduced my timetable to 72% when I returned after mat leave, so I'm in 4 days but have more "frees" than most. Full time teachers in my school teach 53 x 50 minute periods a fortnight. Was 48 a few years ago but has gone up twice. Its a killer- I couldn't do it. 38 I can manage and stay well physically and mentally- most of my colleagues are drowning most of the time.
Cradle cap shampoo- we tried brushing it off but that didn't work for us because DS had a full head of hair from birth. We tried baby oil which helped and gave him a cute 1950s wet look but in the end the shampoo did the trick. Wouldn't go out and buy it unless you need it though.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

Congrats on all the new babies!!!! :T:T
How did I get to 4th on the list!!!!:eek:
Started maternity last Friday.... Have been away all week and have done as little as possible!!!
Back home now... So will have to start finishing the nursery and other bits I haven't had time to do!!! A trip to Ikea... Yay!!!
Think bean knows it is home... Lots of movements this evening as been a little quiet the last few days... But it's probably due to me not doing much!!! Just been to my mums and grans... Gran has knitted a blanket and sleeping bag and bought some cute baby gros.
Better make some tea now... Oh is up the pub... Said he won't be long... Yes right!!!0
