Hugs Bangton I know exactly what you mean I felt the same yesterday when I finished for 13 months! I found it hard to explain to people that I find it a bit surreal and don't think it'll properly sink in fir a couple of weeks yet. I have been reliably informed though that once baby is here I will soon forget about work!! Enjoy your last day and the attention! I had a great day yesterday and was thoroughly spoilt!! XFirst baby due October 2013 :j0

I'm finishing in 3 weeks Bangton, I work long hours with a decent commute (hence why i'm already on the train at this hour!). I think I will enjoy the break for the first few weeks then probably miss it a lot. I really enjoy my job and am worried things wont be the same when i go back

Had growth scan on Wednesday - measuring slightly above average - but I'm taking it with pinch of salt as scan lady had to try about 10 times to get belly measurement from bean!
They also found a trace of glucose in pee - midwife reckons it was the pineapple/melon/mango I had for breakfast & said don't usually look further into it unless shows +2 - consultant had other ideas - blood test booked for Monday - I have to have something to eat 1 hour before blood is taken - appointment at 11.40 any ideas on what type of late breakfast I can eat that low in sugars?
Got antenatal class today - 9.30-4! Will give my verdict later!
Bean still hiccuping regularly (very distracting!)

I enjoy my job too and I'm glad some people enjoy it so much that they'll miss it! I have so many hobbies that I find it easy to fill my time so I don't get bored when I have time away from work. I'll still be popping into work every now and then to visit with baby. I have to say I'm really looking forward to time off to concentrate on baby and home and OH. 35+00

Hi Nessie, I would try and just eat your normal breakfast after all the point of doing the test is to see if your body is dealing with the carbohydrate properly and producing enough insulin to metabolise the sugars. You could have a really low carb/sugar breakfast and pass the test with flying colours but it wouldn't really tell you anything about how your body is working!0 -
Hi Bangton, I remember when I finished for mat leave the first time round, I don't think it sank in for a few weeks that I had actually finished. Once it did I completely forgot all about work.
This time round it's been strange as my job was made redundant a few months back in June, I agreed to transfer to another role after I return and have been on leave since then (prob will resign before I go back as new job not suitable but didn't want to be unemployed for a year) so the whole team left at the same time. I have to say, I've completely switched off from/forgotten about work now, but that may be because I don't have a job to go back to.
Are you going to do keeping in touch days? I did that last time and found them quite good, and the extra money came in handy, although it is strange going in for the odd day once a month or so.0 -

Wow thats fab thank you. Have just ordered, we were going to reuse our old one, but would of spent £3 or £4 getting the stuff to clean it so for that price may as well have a new one!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
I love my job and my last day is next Wednesday. I'm working 2 days next week after 6 weeks off already and the concept of it is really hard to grasp.
Suddenly I'll be returning to school with no excitement of what the next school year holds. Tuesday I won't have the excitement of getting a classroom ready, I'll simply just be doing little jobs for other people as I don't belong anywhere. I'll also find it hard to not just catch up with friends or chat on the phone as they'll be at work.
Majority of my friends I have made from work.
I didn't do the NHS classes as they cancelled them and rearranged for after my due date, but luckily I did the NCT ones. Only 4 couples were on the course so us ladies have all kept in touch, which I am pleased about.
I'm waiting on my midwife coming around. She never gave me a time, just said 'morning', it's to go through my birthing plan.
I'm wanting to know more though how my baby is laying as at my last appt about 2 weeks ago baby was 'free'. Anyone else nervous about this? Maybe I am more because 2 friends recently found out around this time that baby was breech and of course then arranged for c-sections which meant having baby a week early.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
