Furniture hasn't been delivered :( fuming - courier reckons they tried to deliver at 4.15pm when we were both in, there been no card pushed through, we live in a cul de sac and looked everytime we heard a car, and he would have had to walk past our front window to get to the front door. There's no way he's been to our house!! After much moaning from Dh mothercare is now paying for a special Saturday delivery being as he threatened to cancel it. So, will have to wait and see if they come Saturday before 12 like they say. So annoyed really wanted our furniture today so we could build some tonight while it was Dh day off.

I'd be fuming too!! Fingers crossed it comes on Saturday!

I had my 28 week check up today and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It's our second so the mw appointments are very sparse. Bump was measuring bang on 28 weeks :)

lozza, i feel your frustration! Finally got a text from Yodel at 12 saying delivery is coming sometime today. Been in the house all day just incase, poor dog hasn't even had a walk! Still not here, not sure what time they work until?? I know they are notorious for the whole 'failed delivery' when they haven't even been! Yours wasn't Yodel was it by any chance?

Got a letter today saying that due to staff shortages our antenatal classes are cancelled. Annoying as DH has booked the next 3 thursdays off work to be able to attend them. Theres a bit at the bottom offering 3 alternatives in the area - one of which starts next monday (no way i can get a day off work sorted by then!) the other two end a week after my due date :( not sure what to do now? Too late for nct classes (cant really afford it either). Has anyone else not had any classes?

What's the midwife programme, and when is it on? I'm watching all things baby at the mo, watched special deliveries last night which is premature/crisis labours, maybe not the best thing to watch at the mo but couldn't stop myself!

It's on bbc2 on Monday night. It's similar to OBEM but more fact and less dramatic.

Last day at work tomorrow. Feels very strange.

I did NHS classes first time round and to be honest if they hadn't been free and got me off work early. I wouldn't have bothered. We didn't learn anything and I found them next to useless. The only good thing was were got the number to arrange a hospital tour. The class began with about 15 couples in the first week, by week 3 there were about 5 left. They did nothing particularly helpful at the ones I went to, they do a separate breastfeeding class, but they were full so I didn't do those.

IMO as long as you do a little bit of reading up you'll be fine. You could just have a chat with your mw if you're concerned.

    Evening,

Nesting has begun at last combined with panic of retiring to work after 6 glorious weeks of holidays!

Not having official nursery but getting part of spare room ready for feeding and eventually cot when we have progressed from basket. Haven't found anything I really liked but came up with idea of using this material to create a canvas.

    http://http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90229418

It's simple line drawings which our 8 year old is enjoying colouring in to make a personalised piece of art for her sister. Very mse too!

Material & canvas & staple gun is less then £10

Thanks Lola! I'm not awfully concerned it's just annoying. At least I will have DH around to do useful things for the next few thursdays. Will just have to put our time into doing practical bits like finishing off the nursery and organising the many boxes of clothes my sister has given us from my nephew :)

Mamas and papas delivery finally arrived at 7.45, phew!

Morning all. Hope your ok. Congrats sitting on a star. .. any names yet? Need to catch up on the thread properly but I just needed to post, it's my last day at work for a year and while I expected to feel elated I'm so anxious I could vomit! I won't struggle while on leave but won't have same the earning opportunity I have now either. I can't get my head round not working.. it takes up 60hrs of my week with the commute. I'm truly lost! Sorry to be pathetic but I'm struggling to tell anyone around me as they all expect me to be delighted. I am. ..can't wait for my baby I just wish there was a way I could work a little too! :o
