  • We're another one that doesn't have a nursery. We do have a spare bedroom, but its still got stuff in it that we simply don't have room for elsewhere - like DHs golf clubs and heaps of my books. Also landlord won't let us decorate so its got magnolia walls like every other room in the house. Don't really see the big fuss, especially as baby will be in with us for 6 months anyway.

This might sound completely niave but anyone else got a feeling they might sleep better once baby arrives? I know there will be feeds and baby waking up a lot but perhaps when I do manage to sneak some sleep in between it might be better quality sleep!
The six weeks after my one year old was born were the best nights of sleep I've had in over two years - one of the things I'm really looking forward to is hopefully having great sleep for a few weeks again after this one is born.
  • Hope you're getting on OK ruthsaver, sorry I went a bit quiet, was busy giving birth to my little man!!!:p
He arrived Tuesday morning weighing 7lb 11oz, everything was really straightforward, and we we're home less than 4 hours afterwards!!! Scary stuff!! Just getting used to juggling two and establishing his feeding in amongst the visitors!! :-)
Hope I've not ,missed anyone else's babas, big hugs coming your way Cleo xx
    Congratulations!

Lovely photo nene, shes such a cutie :)

:rotfl:Have to say we have not long moved into a new rented house and it has cream carpets throughout that are fairly new, I am hoping my waters either dont break til at hospital or that I am in the kitchen when they break :rotfl:
Apparently it's most common for them to break after you've gone into labour so the chances are they won't catch you unawares. My first were broken in hospital when I was in labour and the other two both went just as I was sitting on the toilet so no carpets wrecked here even with two born at home.
  • Well I was convinced that I would go for my scan yesterday and find something was wrong but I am relieved to report that I was wrong and everything appears to be fine.
  • Just been catching up with this weeks Corrie, and can't believe Kyle and David have chosen 'our' name for their little girl!! Took us ages and many 'discussions' to agree on a name and now I've gone right off it!

Congratulations Sitting! 4 hours sounds good!x

Nene your daughter is very cute! X

I really wouldn't worry about a nursery, I don't think many people bother! We never had a proper nursery for my son, it was our office preciously and we just added a changing unit/ cot as we had a tiny house. We are having a nursery this time as we have enough bedrooms (and a seperate office lol!) it's very basic though, my sons old cot/ changing unit, a cheap bedding set with curtains and wall stickers as I cba to paint... Baby will be in our room but I'm hoping p find a comfy chair to keep in her room for feeds as sitting up in bed gave me terrible back ache last time.

We aren't bothering with a Christmas present for baby as we've tonnes of toys etc from my son. We might buy her a Christmas outfit as its become a tradition in our house lol! We got my son a few small presents for his first Christmas but he got given so many presents by family/ friends. I think I'd prefer to put money into savings and make the most of cheap Christmases/ birthdays as at age 3 my son likes to tell me exactly what he wants!

I was so anxious about new cream carpets at our old house when I was pregnant, I even had waterproof protectors on sofas/ bed but my waters never went until I was having contractions in hospital and they were popped by a MW! This time I'm really not worried
