Congrats yumums and sarahevie
Baby cathal is doing well, he had an eventful entry into the world but is doing really well. Arrived at the hospital at 1 was checked and 2cm dilated, I refused the breaking of the water so was rechecked at 3 am still 2 cm. at which stage I consented to breaking of waters. Checked again at 4 and no progress. I refused the drip but another check just before 6 showed no progress so they were adamant I should take the drip.
From there it is all a bit of a blur tbh, 2cm to baby in less than an hour, without only gas and air.
Baby became distressed so had a ventouse delivery. Found the whole experience pretty traumatic and I am quite upset at how much intervention was pushed on me considering I wanted a natural intervention free birth. I feel like I was bullied into the drip, I asked for the lowest dose possible, it was increased 3 times in the hour without checking to see if the labour was progressing.
Struggling to breast feed at the moment, my nipples are inverted so he is struggling to remain latched on. So I am feeding him a mixture of formula and expressed milk.
Cathal is doing really well in this and am hoping to get breastfeeding established once my milk comes in.
Labour vibes to those who need them0 -
Nooooo please stop updating the list
I don't understand where time is going. I'm just hoping baby arrives after our bathroom is finished on Friday, we have had to move to the inlaws as the toilet leaked.
I too go for a wee expecting a flood and get a tiny leak, it's madness. However I have a maximum of 3wks left until it ends.
On a super exciting point... We went away for a pre-baby spa... And he proposed!! Amazing gorgeous ring and a soppy proposal, so I'm still riding high, it didn't induce labour which my fianc! had been concerned about. However my ring doesn't fit, the size was taken in January when I was only just pregnant and it was winter... So I'm seriously hoping that my fingers reduce in size - it seems my joint have physically grown! (I was measured when I was wedding band shopping with a friend, in a posh jewellers so I know it was right at the time).
So all in all... Yipeeeeeeee I'm engaged! And baby gets here in less than 3wks and we will have matching surnames
Is anyone else trying to keep their legs crossed until September? I just feel we are so close to being the oldest in the school year it'd be a shame not to be.If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Congrats yumyums! Wow, lots of births but I'm excited to see me going up the list!
Huge congrats on your engagement helen! XDS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -
Congrats on the engagement Helen. I haven't been able to wear my rings since 25 weeks but just checked there and my fingers are back to normal so am sure the ring will fit once baby arrives!0

Congrats Sarah & Yumyums.
Sorry it wasn't what you wanted Lao but pleased that Cathal is progressing well.
Sleeping not been too bad for the last few nights, but def not comfortable. Not bad probably means waking 3 or 4 times, you don't know what position if best do you? I bought (from e bay) the pillow below last week.
http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/sp+multi-purpose-maternity-body-support-pillow-in-breast-and-bottle-feeding+b6299
I've used it a few times & it has helped (only paid £12.50 for it which is preferable to £45).
Picked up nursery rocking chair & stool yesterday which my cousin has given me. Was relucant to buy one as didn't know how much use it will get, but obviously pleased with a free one :money:!
Today going to be doing some bits of shopping with OH to get the majority of baby stuff finished whilst we have a day together. Out tonight with friends for meal & casino - so hoping we win big to pay for the shopping (well you have got to hope)!
How did I get to the twenties on the list? Even more scary is that I am joint 17th when I factor in a c section 2 weeks early!
I bought a mini tens machine early in pg (from e bay but it's as new). Mini in that it is compact & only has 2 pads on it. If anyone on the list is interested in it just let me know (PM) & I will post on.
Hope you are all having good bank holiday weather (we're not having it in Yorkshire!)

Ahhhh I don't mind if it does but it'd would have a bit of an impact on my planning abilities!
I'm now hoping I can lose the baby weight in 18 months aswell as save enough to pay for it AND plan all with a new born... Easy peasy right!
Lao-cat I'm really pleased your rings now fitI'm gutted to be wearing it on my little finger - it's a stunning ring and knowone can tell its an engagement ring (which is fair enough).
I'm officially HUGE, I can't believe I might have three more weeks but at the same time I am enjoying maternity leave and being left to do thing at my own pace.
I assume I'm not the only one for whom basic tasks like changing the bed or washing up is like climbing Everest and requires a post activity rest?
Congrats Sarah and yum Yums too! I'm just reading back as I've obviously missed a chunk of news!If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Wow congratulations Yumyums! Hope all ok, looking forward to pics.
Congratulations to Helen too! What a lovely surprise!
Lao-cat - sorry to hear you felt pushed into a birth you had preferred not to have. Beautiful name though; never heard of it before and I love unusual names!
Ttc40 - we were due date buddies early on - cant believe how close you are to having your little one! Don't know about you but the first 12wks seemed to take forever to get to but since then, they've just flown past!
Cloudy11 - we're EDD buddies! Do you have any other children? I have 2DDs (16 & 9). Happy 31wks.:T
AFM - I seem to be suffering with a nasty shooting pain very low in my girly region, when I try and walk keeping up with others - anyone else had this? It's not BH as get those occasionally. Does really hurt though and I find myself holding bump up like he may fall out. I can't move until the pain passes.DD1 June 1997

cloudy I can't get comfortable in bed either but I'm more comfy with my dream genie pillow
I'm tired after most tasks. sometimes I get a shooting pain down the insides of my legs but not on my bump. think I may have had my first braxton hicks whilst pushing a trolley in tesco yesterday. I need loads of naps! 34+20
