  • Congratulations Lao Cat and Sarahevie :j

Wow Bangton - that's a lot of blankets! Mind you, I have a fair few from DD, mostly pink, but they will do. My favourite is a cream wool one from when me and my brother and sister were babies and it is still as good as new, so will deffo use that one again.

RE Tens Machine - I used one with DD but didn't find it really helped. The buzzing just got annoying after a while. I still have it, but doubt I will use it this time. Interestingly, in the US, apparently they discourage the use of a TENS machine during labour.

RE thermometers - My baby monitor has a room temperature one on the display and I find it very useful. We don't use a bath thermometer, you get used to the temp that is needed. I did buy the Braun Thermoscan baby thermometer as it seemed the most easiest and accurate. It is the one that goes in the ear, just like they use at the GPs. It was quite pricey, maybe £40 or so, but it will last for a long time I'm sure.

Is anyone else constantly feel the need to pee. I can go, and 5 min feel the need to go again. I remember this from last time. And I'm at the stage again already.

Hopefully putting the baby's cot together in our room over the next couple of days. I have to lose my bedside table to make sure it fits in, so will be strange not to have it there.

When I count back that seems like really too many blankets but the cot ones really are quite big so I didn't want to be dragging them on floor if I took him out in pram/car seat. I also wanted nicer blankets for going out and seeing people. Then I worry he could be sick/leak too. I read on Mothercare that babies can need more than one blanket on too depending on temp. That said I've bought no waterproof mattress covers. .. wondering if i should bother! Pretty much done baby shopping though and spent 600 all in so quite happy with that. House wise I've spent a ton though so not sure if that counts as baby spend or not!
  • Congratulations sarahevie! Beautiful name. Looking forward to a pic at some point.

Yes MiffyMoo - I go to the loo then 5 mins later, I'm dying for the loo again. I wouldn't mind so much but when I get there I'm expecting Niagra Falls yet its more like a leaky tap lol.

Congrats on new arrivals. Had 8lb8oz baby Saturday morning by a hastily arranged X-Mensection following complications which arose on Friday morning. All a bit of a shock and absolutely shattered but we both seem to be doing well. No name yet!

4am and my OH is painting the living room. ..and they say it's the women who nest! What's worse..a partner who does nothing or one who won't sleep for messing about. I'll remind him of this when baby keeps us up all night. ..no idea what to make of it. I've got bad bad heartburn too. ..gaviscon not touching it! :(

As good as an X-Men section sounds, it was actually a c-section! Silly predictive text

Congratulations yumyums, love the idea of an X-men section... although somehow I imagine it being performed by Wolverine which would be terrifying! I hope you're both recovering well and that the perfect name presents itself soon :)

ETA: Bangton, I wish my DH was that motivated! As it is, I'm a lonely insomniac :rotfl:

Next time the list is updated, please could I be added? We're expecting our first baby (team pink) on 28th December :j

    Congrats yumyums :)

:( I can't believe I'm awake again. 3rd day in a row at this time. I can't get up or anything as OH slept downstairs last night as apparently I'm starting to keep him awake :(

I too will join the insomniac club. I always struggle with sleep anyway when not pregnant, but lately I have been waking up every hour with awful heartburn and then needing the loo etc. Decided to just get up at 5am today and starting doing some more packing for the house move.

Luckily nothing would keep my husband awake or even wake him up (not even a fire alarm!)- so I don't need to worry there!

Does anyone else get a painful bump when they move over in their sleep? I am constantly tossing and turning and then constantly aching.
