Hi all,
Had a bit of a scare last week, went to my 26week check up with the midwife on Thursday - it was a midwife i hasn't met before!
She said she liked to listen to the heartbeat for at least a minute (alot longer than previous times) & she heard some ectopic beats
After a phone call to the hospital an appointment was made for friday to be monitored - needless to say i didn't have a great night that night - made even worse by a gallstone attack & throwing up
Went to hospital on Friday, monitored for all of 10/15mins - found some ectopic beats but not that often & quite regular - not sure if bean had hiccups or not - definately didn't like the doppler - kept trying to kick it off :rotfl:So mind put at rest on the heartbeat issue - but then had to see the consultant/doctor (not sure exactly why!) who proceeded to say he didn't think the ectopic heartbeats was anything to worry about, as long as bean was active - but then said he wants to have another scan at 28 weeks due to my weight (without weighing me ) even though i have a growth scan booked for 34 weeks
Throughout all this DH was having major panic attacks due to OCD - doesn't help when there is no conclusive result & for the consultant to mix everything up by booking in another growth scan which we wouldn't have even bothered to get if midwife hadn't have picked up the ectopic beats
On a brighter note, Mum & step-dad brought our travel system on Friday night - we went for the Babystyle Oyster, but couldn't get the colour pack i wanted
Who would have thought buying a car seat would be so hard - trying to figure out whether we can actually fit one in DH car is a nightmare, mine is ok as it is a new company car with the isofix things
PIL also brought the cot bed on Friday - one from the bounty email - get a drawer underneath & comes with mattress - brought for £160 - hope it's ok
We have decided to get a new mattress for the crib we brought but we will keep the cover as it can be washed at 60deg - good for a spare when leakages happen & we will be using one of the mattresses as a changing mat as it seems a waste to chuck in the bin!
Sorry for the rant - not really got anyone close that i can talk to about it without them getting a glazed look :rotfl:

ETA: Anyone want some stretch mark cream samples? I have some that i will not use (no point when i am covered in stretch marks already!) & would like them to be put to good use0 -
Congratulations Jenny!
To the ladies who went to see Robbie Williams - I am incredibly jealous! He was playing in Dublin 2 weeks ago and DH wouldn't let me go 'Just in case' Spoilsport! Bon Jovi were playing the following night and he wouldn't let me go there either. The only concert I have to look forward to is One Direction next May (no, I am not looking forward to that! Its for the girls Christmas presents)
PP - how did your daughters Prom go?
MV - your little boy is so cute!
Well, we haven't stopped here the last few days! I took the girls to a bird display in the local park on Saturday, they loved it, we saw barn owl, kestrel and hawks. Then we went up to mums for everyone arriving from America.
My suspicions were right and yesterday was my baby shower, it was lovely and Wriggler has got lots of lovely outfits! Could have killed DH though, I told him that I thought it was my shower but I wasn't going to say anything so he went and told my mum and sister (who was organising it and tried her best to keep it quiet) that I'd worked it out! Blabbermouth! Ah well, we had a fantastic afternoon tea and a good laugh about it.
Not to make anyone jealous but I have a child free house at the mo! My girls have gone to the coast with the Americans, we got a phone call at 11 last night and they were bouncing so I imagine they are absolutely delightful today. I've made the most of it by doing absolutely nothing this morning, DH is off on Annual leave so we slept in and have just lazed so far, it has been blissful!

Not all that jealous of Robbie but of Olly Murs who was supporting him - damn right I am! :rotfl: I'd have loved to go in Glasgow last week but I really hate the cost of concerts now - it's getting ridiculous. I've got Boyzone to look forward to in December though (and yes, that IS for me
)
Huge congrats jenny - hope all is going well with baby!
I'm just back from my first anti-natal class - really enjoyed it actually! The topic today was baby post-natal (I've missed a few so doing them in a funny order!) and was really informative. Midwife was great as well and very reassuring that it's OUR baby and as long as we're doing it safely we're free to choose what way we want to do things (using wipes vs cotton wool/breast vs bottle etc).
Is anyone else getting really bored of needing to pee in the middle of the night? My Debt Free Diary

girlzmum.. She had a fantastic time thank you.. she is having a weeks induction for college today.
I feel like pap.. the hayfever/tonsillitis has wiped me out completely and I've just spent half an hour snoozing on the chair.. I've done not a stroke of anything towards making room for the baby in a couple of weeks. I just want to sleep. I haven't even collected the bedding from DD1. My daughter has a hospital appointment tomorrow so I'll send OH then I think.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

With you on the not-started-baby-room. Well, we started, and now have to start again. Ordered wallpaper from B&Q (20% off plus cashback) which should arrive tomorrow. Getting my nails done tonight so I may or may not help with the stripping of the old wallpaper but I'll bloody well paper it myself if I have to!

Sooooo sleepy now!! If anyone has this bum cheek pain and has any ideas how to solve it I'd be very grateful!!
31 weeks today!
my chiropractor gave me a tip - get a tennis ball and lay on top of it - so that the ball is right under the bit that is most painful. This WILL be excruciating. Maybe rotate a little on it top - otherwise just stay still. However - it does help get rid of the pain. I guess its equivalent too kneeding out a knot in a muscle. And trust me, it works - I know as I spent 10 mins doing it this morning before I could leave for work!! :rotfl:0
