Had my diabetes test on Friday morning, was told if I don't get a call by Tuesday then that would mean all is fine. My sugar level at 8:30 am was 2.4, found it interesting that then at 10:30 am my finger wasn't pricked to reveal the sugar level, blood was just taken from my arm. Of course hoping I don't get a phone call.

That is extremely low.. weren't you feeling all shaky and lightheaded? My sons 'fasting' bloods were 17.9 when he was checked.. that was one of the better readings..

My son wouldn't be able to walk without being all wobbly and dizzy at that level. By 4 I want to kill people and eat everything in sight.

'normal' before eating levels are supposed to be 4-5 and 2 hours after eating 7-9

Nope...Was hungry of course, but wasn't starving. I definitely have felt a hell of a lot worse 1st thing in a morning at the beginning of my pregnancy.

I never used to eat a proper breakfast, by that I mean I'd have a cereal bar at like 8 am when I got to work. But since being pregnant I've made the effort to eat a bowl of fruit/fibre for breaky every morning at 7:30 am.

I didn't realise that is was extremely low, the lady never said. She asked if I had been fasting since 8:30 pm the night before at which of course I had and when she took the reading, she just said 'You definitely have been fasting, if mine was 2.4 I'd be on a hypo as I am diabetic'.

I made sure I ate something just before 8:30 pm as well so I wasn't fasting from 6:30 pm when I ate my tea.

She did struggle to get blood out of my finger though, it took 2 finger pricks and then massaging my finger to get enough blood onto the little stick.

Hi everyone - can I join in please? I am 34+1 with baby 3. This baby was a complete shock as I will be 40 in 8 weeks but we're excited now as are DD (14) and DS (3).
I was late with both of my other 2 but feel very different with this one. I am having painful braxton hicks several times a day, and passing a clear thick discharge (consistency of a show but not bloody) every couple of days, my bump has definitely dropped and afetr just a few steps I feel pressure between my legs. They have me booked in for a growth scan this Thursday as I was on the pill when I fell pregnant so have no idea about dates as I didn't have a "true" period ... maybe I am getting my hopes up but I think I will be further on that 34/35 weeks - everything is ready just in case!

Evening ladies, hope everyone's had a nice weekend. Went to see Robbie Williams at Wembley and nearly fainted in the queue, which was a combination of it being too warm and being a bit dehydrated (was fine after a bottle of water) but funny to see the panic on a young security lad's face at the clear terror that he was about to have a pregnant woman give birth on him or something! Robbie was fab, btw. Baby is also fine, kicking away as usual.

After his initial spurt of interest, OH hasn't done much on the spare room in weeks. The stairs and landing are mostly painted though. The spare room needs one more coat then we can get a carpet, and start (buying) and putting furniture in there.
  • welcome kandfs mum, hope all goes well with the scan

MV, your little boy is gorgeous, so so cute!

tiny_courageous, i went to see Robbie in Glasgow last week, luckily my friend had booked seated tickets but my feet and legs were knackered for about 3 days afterwards with all the standing about. He was amazing though so well worth it :)

We did 5 hours of glossing, painted the nursery, built the changing unit, mowed and tidied the garden and my bum cheeks were killing me!!!

Sat down at 8pm with some trifle and heard "muuuum, I'm going to be sick" from upstairs so had a very sicky 7 year old this evening!

Sooooo sleepy now!! If anyone has this bum cheek pain and has any ideas how to solve it I'd be very grateful!!

    31 weeks today!

Justonemorepair, i had that awful bum cheek pain as well for a few weeks, my mw said it was pressure of baby or lying on a nerve can remember which and said it would ease once baby engaged-and sure enough it did! I was in agony when i was still working. Hope it eases for you soon.

Mv your little lad is adorable, what a cool dude with his sunglasses!

    40+5 ( its after midnight!)
