  • Been reading everyday, but not managed to reply much so huge congratulations to all the new mams, and big hugs to everyone that's needed them recently!

Just seen the list and realised if I'd bothered putting meself on it I'd be 4th  Managed to hog the whole 12 days being a boldie 18 months ago though, so will just leave that to Courgette this time!! :D

Ridiculously tired now (may have something to do with someones house alarm going off at 2:30am mind!!) and have a majorly sore back which is making looking after an 18 month old rather interesting! Next MW appointment is next Thursday when I'd be +4 (if I make it that far!) and shes offered me a sweep then, unsure of whether to go for it or not. At the end of the day I just want a happy healthy baby in me arms, but the lure of him being so close to being a September baby is making me think well if he wants to wait that long then who am I to be pushing along proceedings!! So far everythings been straightforward, and a sweep done nothing for me last time so I just dunno :o

I'm not due to see MW til 34 weeks (she did say I could see her at 31 weeks but as this is my third there's not really much point). I suppose it helps that both my other pregnancies have been boring and plain sailing.

As for Pushchairs, I only bought a Graco Quattro travel system for DD1, it was from ebay and lasted me til about 6 months ago when the wheel started losing it's covering. Finding a new wheel is impossible, I don't think they make that size anymore as it is 6-7years old, so I thought DS would like a new one, I'm tempted to go for another Graco as I know I love them and I've seen this one at a good price: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006UAQ6ES/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE but I reeeeeeeeally want this one but can warrant spending an extra £89+ on it just for a different colour and some teddies. http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Travel-Systems-and-Pushchairs/Travel-systems/Graco-Quattro-Tour-Deluxe-Travel-System-in-Bear-and-Friends(0100786)?searchPosition=0

I know i've got 8 1/2 weeks left  but I don't know whether to buy it now and just say sod it, or wait til there's a few weeks to go and risk missing out as it goes out of stock? I have a gut feeling that this little man will be born early so really need to buy it 4 weeks before I'm due. ARGH!! It's all so hard!!

I have the Graco from Toys R Us. Pretty sure I only paid £150 for it (inc car seat) so it may well go down in price.

I'd buy it. I have this mad urge to buy everything I may need at the moment (and am in the process of upgrading the buggy), it's like I need to have everything before the baby comes even though I know it will be perfectly possible to buy stuff afterwards, even if I can't get out of the house for a few weeks ( c section) there is always internet/home delivery and husband to go fetch things.

neneromanova the beige one is gorgeous. We have a Silvercross sleepover pram in that colour and a blue Maclaren quest buggy. Pram is lovely and bouncey but heavy and takes up lots of room in a car boot. Buggy is super light and easy to fold but tbh DS has never looked particularly comfy in it and it has no suspension. Can totally understand why people end up buying several as they have different pros and cons. DS is 2 years and 3 months nearly and we hardly use buggy at the moment. Have bought a Lindam buggy board at car boot sale just need to get adaptors as I know I'll walk further when on maternity to lose baby weight and save money on fuel. We have shops, library, surestart groups, parks, beach and train station all within 20 walk so makes sense to use pram.
Tempted by the sheep toy but told myself I wouldn't buy anything else until family have had a chance to buy gifts. My bro lives in Spain so would happily buy something off amazon. Do want something like this for hospital as the fisher price seahorse was a godsend when DS was newborn, used to rock them both together. Horrible nights, he was hungry so not settling and the sounds from the seahorse soothed him and helped me keep calm too.
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
    MFW OPd 2014 £2000 2013 £9700 2012 £2848.39 2011 £2509.58 2010 £11000 2009 £112002008 £4939 :D
Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013 :)

Then my thinking behind it is, What if it goes down in price once I've bought it?

I love a nice pram. Currently got 6 sat in my garage - hubby keeps moaning about it. But they all have different purposes!

TTC40 - Hope you are ok. I too agree that if rest is what the doctor ordered, then don't worry about work. They will cope without you and you and your baby is what is important.

Bangton - My last appointment was at 28 weeks, and my next one is at 34 weeks and then they will be every 2 weeks. There is a huge difference in number of appointments between first and subsequent babies.

Just got DD down for a nap so will try for an hour of studying as I just get so tired in the evenings. Went to Sainsburys this morning as they have their 25% off all clothing, so got some more granny knickers for after birth and some more white sleepsuits for baby. I think I have way too many white sleepsuits, but I just love them!

Thanks Miffy. This is my first so I thought every 2 weeks and it's ticked as such. The hospital midwife today just seemed really shocked I wasn't going at 36 weeks. I'll ring up and check it's just getting hold of my midwife isn't always easy! In fact, I've never managed it thus far if I've needed to check anything.

Forgot to mention, I went to Sainsburys yesterday to take advantage of the 25% off and they had those dribble bibs (the ones like little neckerchiefs). They were marked as £5 but I bought 4 packs (of 3) and every single pack scanned at £2.50 with 63p off so 12 cost me £7.48 :D Don't know if it's just my Sainsburys or what but what a total bargain!!!! :T
  • Congrats on the new baby's!!!

Nene I would order it.... I have been umming over a lot of things, put them in my basket... Go back a couple of days after umming and they are sold out!!! A mobile and a changing bag... Urggghhh!!!!

Thanks I ordered the sheep earlier!!!

  • I saw my midwife 2 weeks ago at 33+3. That was a week early as she was on annual leave, it said on my notes 34,36,38, then after that its every week.

I don't see her until next Friday when she visits the house to do birthing plan and then I see her the following week at 37 weeks, again a week early because she can't fit me in at 38 weeks.

I get my pram delivered tomorrow, ordered it from mothercare in April for £195, was £230 and then had a further discount. I priced locked and intended to pay it off each month but then my parents offered to buy it. It was £280 a few weeks ago when I went and paid it off, but then last weekend it was down to £200. I get a car seat with it as well and also a changing bag.

Had a nice casual day shopping with a friend, very slow walking pace now, lol. Definitely not up for full proper shopping days anymore, when she asked I straight away said I couldn't do meadowhall kind of shopping.

On other news have heard back re the competition I won and she's trying to fit me in for the 6th or 9th of September for my shoot. Turns out I know the lady as she used to be my weight watchers leader in 2011. She runs her own make up business and is a make up artist for Emmerdale so of course is very busy but said she'll try her best to fit me in before baby is due.

Why do people think that they are entitled to ask whether you are pregnant any time you are ill?
