Hospital were bamboozled as to why I was having a GTT as I'm 34 weeks. Then she asked when next antenatal was and I said 38 weeks so she questioned that as well! I don't know! Ask the midwife! Am I meant to see someone between 34 and 38 weeks? It is ticked on my pink notes as needing to go every fortnight from now but that's not happening! I am going to birthing centre for a look round though..could they be doing checks there? Confused! I thought fairly soon they would be starting to have a feel for where baby is and check he is in right sort of place.
Yes, at your stage you should be seen at least every two weeks so that your blood pressure can be monitored. My MW missed an appointment out around then last time because I was seeing the consultant and when my consultant realised I wasn't being seen for a while she had one of the hospital MWs check my blood pressure.

I've just been watching Midwives on ipl4yer...not sure whether I should have or not, it was all c-sections and one very long labour. I've never seen One Born though

Feeling a bit fed up - I've been sent for a growth scan tomorrow.

Everytime (this is my third) I'm sent for these growth scans. I'm not very big, I'm not very tall. My DDs weren't particularly big 6lb 5 and 7lb 11.

Apparently I'm only measuring 34 weeks and I'm only 5 days off due date. The other thing they kept asking is do I smoke? No I've never smoked, not even as a teenager - I'm just not built to have whopping children (rant over)

Just seems a real waste of resources, plus treking 45 mins over to the hospital, with the kids in tow, then the inevitable wait to be seen, its red hot here today.

  • :( Pushchairs are such minefields. They're all rediculously expensive and you never know if they're going to be any good :(
I think it must be a plot by the manufacturers to cause you to spend loads of money on lots of different ones - almost everyone I know who uses pushchairs seems to get through loads in their quest for a decent one. I'm really hoping that I don't end up needing one with having a smaller age gap this time as they sound like a right pain.

I must be abnormal when it comes to prams :rotfl: I have a big silvercross one that I love and a little stroller for if we need to go on the bus. DS is 22 months and they are the only ones I have ever bought! Will be using them again for this one with buggy board attached for DS.

I love a nice pram. Currently got 6 sat in my garage - hubby keeps moaning about it. But they all have different purposes!

TTC40 - Hope you are ok. I too agree that if rest is what the doctor ordered, then don't worry about work. They will cope without you and you and your baby is what is important.

Bangton - My last appointment was at 28 weeks, and my next one is at 34 weeks and then they will be every 2 weeks. There is a huge difference in number of appointments between first and subsequent babies.

Just got DD down for a nap so will try for an hour of studying as I just get so tired in the evenings. Went to Sainsburys this morning as they have their 25% off all clothing, so got some more granny knickers for after birth and some more white sleepsuits for baby. I think I have way too many white sleepsuits, but I just love them!

I'm amazed at how differently each woman gets treated!

I'm now 34 weeks & the last time i saw my midwife was 2 weeks ago today - i'm not seeing her again until 11th September (home visit ) - although i am having a growth scan next Wed followed by a consultant appointment (ETA: this is my first pregnancy & classed as high risk due to high BMI)

Personally i can't see how that is every 2 weeks! - when do we start getting seen every week?

    Weird how the system works!

Bump is starting to get heavier now - every time i get up from sitting it's like something is dragging me down! Also think bean is starting to burrow now as longer walks are uncomfortable & starting to properly waddle!

  • Fed up!
Midwife yesterday, blood pressure going up, hands and feet swelling massively and bab has decided to go back to back in the last week, explaining the chronic backache... plus the knees are going ):
Now weekly rather than every 2 weeks for appointments... starting to struggle with driving too so relying on lifts... urghhhh ):
On my own most of the time as the partner is at work, doing 11 days in a row after the weekend too, bit lonely and fed up now! Need to serve an eviction notice very soon i think

I'm not due to see MW til 34 weeks (she did say I could see her at 31 weeks but as this is my third there's not really much point). I suppose it helps that both my other pregnancies have been boring and plain sailing.

As for Pushchairs, I only bought a Graco Quattro travel system for DD1, it was from ebay and lasted me til about 6 months ago when the wheel started losing it's covering. Finding a new wheel is impossible, I don't think they make that size anymore as it is 6-7years old, so I thought DS would like a new one, I'm tempted to go for another Graco as I know I love them and I've seen this one at a good price: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006UAQ6ES/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE but I reeeeeeeeally want this one but can warrant spending an extra £89+ on it just for a different colour and some teddies. http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Travel-Systems-and-Pushchairs/Travel-systems/Graco-Quattro-Tour-Deluxe-Travel-System-in-Bear-and-Friends(0100786)?searchPosition=0

I know i've got 8 1/2 weeks left  but I don't know whether to buy it now and just say sod it, or wait til there's a few weeks to go and risk missing out as it goes out of stock? I have a gut feeling that this little man will be born early so really need to buy it 4 weeks before I'm due. ARGH!! It's all so hard!!
