Nessie, our hospital books in maternity wing tours for those who want them, you just phone up and they give you some dates. Might be worth trying the maternity reception?

I'm also annoyed with those who say its ok to eat for two, it's just not! Have been the same weight pre pregnancy for about 8 years and finding it hard to have a bum and thighs after running 4 times a week and generally being very active pre pregnancy. I now find I'm eating the same portions, plus junk food and have had the same weight gain as you with 9 weeks to go! It's hard to reign in the snacking when all I want to do is eat!

I will ask the maternity reception when i go in for my scan - i'm not that worried - but mum is just being a pest about it (& arguing that i should have it when i haven't been told about it from anyone else!)

Weight wise - it's even worse for me as i started this pregnancy with a high BMI (in the 40's :() and am under consultant care
I'm just struggling at the moment to find energy to cook when i get home & prepare for the following days lunch - I have to have an hours kip after work now but that makes meals later & hubby won't cook (although i do wonder whether he can actually cook - especially when he asked me how to cook new potatoes )
So i normally end up eating white toast with butter or peanut butter & salt & vinegar crisps:o - although i have now started to eat tinned peaches - but struggle to eat any other fruit - don't know why though!
One thing i can't eat - which has saved a bit of extra weight gain - is chips & deep fried food as it causes gallstone attacks - why do you always want the things you can't have? I would love a portion of chips with a bit of salt & lashings of vinegar :rotfl:

I have a husband like that too - I couldn't believe he'd got to mid 30s and didn't know how to boil potatoes!! His other favourite trick is to put food in oven/grill then say to me about five times 'is this ready?'...funny how he manages fine well when I'm not in!

Re hospital tours, I got one as part of my antenatal classes, and then they organised another one that partners can go along to as well, so we had that last night. DH feeling better about the labour side of things now, especially when he realised he wasn't the only guy who doesn't like blood, doesn't want to cut the cord etc.

I'm very much craving chips from McDonalds/KFC - could take or leave the rest of the meal but really loving the chips. Hoping to convince OH to take me for one before I go into the hospital on Friday :rotfl:

I've not weighed myself for months now, I have no idea where the scales even are - I'll work on it after tiny's here! Try not to stress too much about it ladies, you've got enough going on at the moment.

I hate this. Yes, I have xray eyes and can see if that chicken is cooked . Just cut into it like everyone else!
  • B2b and claree - mines exacty the same!! Last week he was shouting from the kitchen asking the pasta was cooked whilst i watched tv...... Erm i'm not sure, try it??! They're all the same.

B2b2012 - my friend had those pains, she was in agony for a while, they went eventually but scared her.

I'm having pains today, belly is going hard. But i'm not sure if i'm having bh or its baby moving a lot? Its very painful, and (tmi alert) i'm not sure if i'm leaking or its pee, i know its disgusting but has anyone else had it? I mentioned it to dh last night who seemed a bit mortified, but it started late yesterday? Honestly pregnancy is such a beautiful thing.... :-/

Apparently I'm the only one in this house who knows if pasta is ready. Every single time he makes it a bit gets brought through to me on a spoon to taste like I have some kind of special method, I just eat it and see :rotfl: Nuts.

I've been having the same sort of feeling today with the pressure - I wasn't sure whether it was baby pushing up against me or BH. I was in hospital this morning though and they had me on a monitor that suggested it was tightening so would be BH? Can't help with the leaking though...

My husbands best stroke of culinary genius was when he thought it would be a great idea to blend (yes blend as in liquefy) ham, onions, garlic and peppers with egg to make an omelette.

Funniest bit was to save face (obviously I told him it would be disgusting) he sat there and ate it. The thing didn't even set properly. I shudder to think how if actually tasted.....

Suffice to say he's never tried it since!

Sometimes when I go to the loo I stand up afterwards and leak, I think it's to do with the bladder not being able to empty properly when the baby is lying in a certain position?

I've noticed your due the day after me and I'm feeling the same regards being too tired to cook and make dinner for the day after!! I rely on jacket potatos and soup as my OH also hates cooking! :)

Off work sick again today. Slept till 12 noon AGAIN! I'm not sure I can cope with this crippling fatigue for much longer. I'm on the 3rd day of not washing my hair, my eyebrows need plucking, toenails are chipped and I need to shave badly. Living room and kitchen look like we have been burgled although it's hard to know if it's worth cleaning when OH is painting every nook and cranny!

Upstairs is nice though because that's finished. I might just live up there.

My younger brother (whose 26 and pretty immature) rang last night to see how the pregnancy was going (and because he owes me £800). I told him I was tired and heavy and he said 'I completely get it, when I went to Egypt I had to carry my bag round for hours and it did my head in. I was glad to get shut of it when we checked in' :rotfl: Fantastic...he knows pregnancy is hard on the basis of carrying his bag around!

On a final note, does anyone know when your off sick do you have to have proof it is pregnancy related. I mean, do I have to call midwife and say I'm having dizzy spells and tiredness? Apart from 2 hospital trips I haven't had time off due to pregnancy so a bit worried they will record it as sick rather than pregnancy related :(
