Did you manage to wake baby up katie? Try not to panic. Mine is making all kinds of funny wobbling/vibrating movements now. I think as you get nearer the end they just can't make the big movements anymore but twitch about instead.

I've got to go up to the hospital today to see a midwife as I couldn't get an appointment at my GP. Not looking forward to it as it entails a 10 min walk to the bus stop and then a bus ride, and I am finding any kind of walking tough now. My poor stomach looks like it is hanging really low. If I get away again without any stretchmarks I'll be amazed.

Can I ask if people have had confirmation of SMP?

I work in a school and as yet have heard nothing in terms of what pay I will get.

I got a letter from my head teacher confirming dates, but no actual information confirming I will get paid SMP and how much.

I start maternity leave on the 5th September so had assumed I would of heard something by now or it possibly because of working in a school the county have sent it to my work place and thus I won't get it until I go back to work on the 3rd?

Continualdiamond, I never had any confirmation of amounts of pay. They haven't even sent me June and July's payslips!

I well and truly wore myself out this weekend!
Hosted a big family BBQ Sat and Sun we finally started decorating the small spare room (need to turn it into a guest room before starting on the big spare room which will be baby's room)
So lots of painting, sanding, etc. Plus sorting out a load of mad wiring the previous owners have left - like, great long wires not connected to anything, running through holes in the middle of walls!!! Not even by the skirting! It's a mess, we're having to do a lot of polyfilla-ing!!!

So tired already and got so much more to do before we're finished! Glad we started though - need to get it all done before Oct!!

Congratulations to all the new mummies and their LO's.

I haven't had anything about maternity pay either - due to start on 1st September which is my due date and the day before I should be back to work for the new term.


My sleeping is terrible at the moment I honestly believe I'll get more sleep once the baby arrives which everyone seems to laugh at me about!!


We are almost decided on a name now - it's all becoming very real!!

Hi all, sorry I've not been around all weekend. Had an alright one, bit of a nightmare with heartburn and waking up at all hours and not being able to get back to sleep.

Went for a lovely dinner on Saturday night as our last weekend without baby, it's a bit scary to think that she'll be here this time next week :eek:

It's a pain, isn't it. I'm due on Thursday and still don't know what my mat pay will be. In fact I'm not even sure whether they triggered mat leave early as I had some time off sick but it wasn't straightforward whether or not it was pg related. During my last pregnancy I found out what my payments would be on my due date. Just rubbish.

AFM, feeling very big and heavy and tired but no where near birth. Chances are it'll be another long pregnancy which I'm feeling completely happy and calm about actually. I'm actually really enjoying feeling a little person wiggling around for what will probably be the last time

I only got confirmation when i rung and asked for it, and then it was a very short email. Otherwise i dont think id have had anything.

Finish work tomorrow thank goodness, it'll be nice to get up and do things in my own time.

I haven't had confirmation of SMP and didn't expect it to be honest. I assumed I get it and that's that!! I think I'll chase it up soon as I leave work in exactly a month.

Rung in sick today. Last night I suddenly felt so sick and dizzy so went to bed. Every time I woke up I felt the room spinning and then nearly missed the toilet completely when I had a wee! I feel ok now but I have a tiredness beyond anything. I woke up to ring work at 8 and then slept through till 12. I detest calling in sick but at the same time I'm so grateful to have a day of solitude and nothingness for once although as always I'm thinking of everything I should be doing!!
