Katie make sure OH is in no doubt how you feel. DH got very drunk just before Christmas, when I was 4 months pregnant with our first. That evening it snowed heavily. He fell asleep on a train. Didn't know where he was so just walked til he saw a landmark he recognised then rang me to rescue him. Had to get dressed, clear several inches of snow off car, deice windscreen then drive on fresh snow to go find him before he died of hypothermia in the middle of nowhere on his own. They'd go ballistic if we were that stupid.

Oh, my, GOD! I would have flipped!! Thats a much larger level of stupidity, jesus... hope theres been no other incidents like that

Katie - I think your oh is lucky to have you - I think I would not only lock him out but get the locks changed! Hope he sees sense soon!

I'd worry too much, even though he would have thoroughly deserved it! Too early to tell on the sense bit, but he's aknowledged and no more 'incidents' since, so hopefully theres some hope!

Big hugs Katie, men are useless sometimes!

They are! ): Glad to see some other horror stories (now i've calmed down a bit) They've made me feel like i'm not the only one!

Sorry to those having OH issues..especially Katie! I'd be so peed off! Luckily mine is absolutely obsessed with getting house in order so he's really cracked on, telling me today that his deadline for completion is 1st September (baby due on 2nd October). Having a lazy day today though as he went out last night..not late but think he ate too much curry!

You're lucky (in a way!) with him then trying to get everything organised, we're the oposite, only just getting there at 34+6! Bad for the lazy days though, i do love the bluebird idea, maybe ask for them to be framed? Best of both worlds possibly? They do sound very cute though.

And an update on me this weekend, I now have one leaky boob (TMI i know) but ONE? It's all lumpy now like there's more to come, and only happening at night, where i'm trying not to restrict them into a bra, so a nice almost snail trail on my tummy and wet patch on my side of the bed... blughhh

Oh and congrats to PigPen, OscarthePug, & nutshell82! One gorgeous baby from the photo on here, and two gorgeous name too! Lots of new girlies in the world, hope you're all enjoying them xx

It was kind of thick ish but not there when I wiped (sorry know this is gross!). Our midwives have a pager to call then they apparently ring you back after 15 mins, or if not I have to call the labour ward. I'm just scared they'd say come into hosp (currently hosting a BBQ so not ideal timing!) or come in tomorrow and my boss will go nuts as apparently I've been having too many drs appointments (getting into work at 10am latest then working through lunch!)?! I have my 31 week app with the dr on tues so tempted to leave it til then as I haven't seen anything incriminating since but I am a big fat worrier.
  • lobey if you're worried give them a ring, worrying isn't good for pregnant people.

    Congrats pigpen, oscar & nutshell!

Thanks for all the advice on the best time for my mum to come stay. Have spoken with her and she's happy to come when OH's paternity leave is finished so problem solved. Hopefully it will be good to have someone to help me cook & clean and keep me company when I'm on my own.

Lobey give them a ring and just ask for advice on what to watch out for - I was in and out of our labour ward for a fortnight (threatening prem labour/early labour that went nowhere) and they were always happy to give me advice or reassure me I didn't need to come in, or tell me to come in and get checked out. If nothing else it notes on your file that this has happened and saves you explaining it all later on!

As for the mum thing - I found (in as much as having my mum around is ever helpful... generally it ain't - unless you want a nicely categorised list of your failings as a daughter from the year 0AD...) my mum was best utilised the day my husband went back to work, and basically she sat there, doing her knitting but being there as a support person in case it all went horribly wrong, while I figured out how best to organise the day and manage two babies together (11 months between 'em). Got to 3.30pm and she was getting bored, complaining I'd coped fine all day and pushing in to help regardless!

Congrats on all the new babies :) beautiful names

As much as I love my mum I couldn't cope with her staying with me after I had baby, I've never really understood why people do this to be honest (hope i don't offend anyone by saying that its just my perspective) I coped perfectly well by myself lol I like people to come round for a cuppa and a few hours but in terms of staying over I would not be comfortable with it. Even now if my mum comes she'll ask if she can do anything to help me like cleaning up etc but I like to do things my own way :) I can get quite annoyed when people try to interfere ha

Lobey - ring the midwife even just for reassurance, and sod your boss I'd be having a few days off now just to be awkward ;)

I slept terribly last night horrible back pains (constipation :( ) with Braxton hicks not a great combination especially topped off with some heartburn! The joys.......

Been to get steriliser, Moses basket mattress and bottles today, I've also decided to go with the mothercare xo!!! stroller Ds2 fits in it perfectly and it has footmuff, liner and headhunter for newborn. I really don't want to spend a fortune on a pram I only need it to last over the winter by the spring DS2 should be ok for a buggy board so descision made I'm sticking to it :)

Hope everyone sleeps well tonight xx

I've had bleeding on and off -pinkish/brown and thick at random intervals throughout my pregnancy. I had cramps on one occasion around 22 weeks and had to go in but my last bleed at 29 weeks they weren't bothered about because it was pink and no cramps.

So, you may not have to go in unless it's fresh red. Your boss' attitude is disgusting  I feel a bit the same at work....it doesn't matter what anyone says and how much pregnant women are supposed to be protected..in reality you are often looked down on for taking time off

Hope everything is ok though :)

Our friends have just gone and I still haven't called...no new stuff so I really think I've just been going ott on the exercise.

My boss is kind of funny, apart from telling me to keep my legs shut until the day my maternity leave starts she says funny things like 'oh, how is the whole pregnancy thing going?' after 4 weeks of not acknowledging the elephant in the room! I have to laugh really but I do feel stressed thinking about how much trouble I'll get into if I miss even an hour at work, so lame I know!

You're boss needs to calm down, you're allowed as many as you like, you're pregnant!!! They have to give you time off paid for them too, i'd go down discrimination route, bet she doesn't have children...

Oh. And i got a scare this morning (one of those asleep and make you jump ones.. baby made a weird vibrating movement, trying to wake him up at 6.30 with cold water and sugar... just to make sure he's okay, probably worrying but scared ):
