MV - my second baby did come much quicker after 3 sweeps and 14 days overdue I was on delivery suite ready to be put on a drip to be induced he then decided to make an appearance 4 hours in total

Bangton - your mum sounds lovely :) very generous indeed, my mums giving me £20 towards my steriliser I wouldn't mind but its only £35 in total would have preferred her to just buy it for me but hey ho

Ds2 was up at 230am again, I brought him downstairs, and he just stands at the kitchen door until I get him a bottle of milk, he's reverting back to a baby I'm sure.

Still feeling rather fed up and not able to do much without major effort DS1 dusted and hoovered for me yesterday, he said I do so much for everyone else he wanted to give something back :) bless him.

I won a £20 Matalan voucher the other day so might go and get some big knickers and maybe nighties from there today, need to start the hospital bag properly the only thing in there at the moment is sleepsuits lol

    Take care all xx

Hello all, hope everyone and bumps are well.

Sorry I've not been on in a few days, been feeling pretty down to be honest. I feel so big now and it feels like no one will let me do anything. My feet are swollen so whenever I'm walking anywhere dh is telling me I should be sitting down but he doesn't understand that I can't sit down all day long I will go crazy! I already feel like a prisoner in my own home because I'm alone all day so can't really go far and now I feel like I can't even do housework etc

My mood was only made worse when I went to see the doctor yesterday and saw a new doctor and she thought it was hilarious that I'm now measuring big and she thinks baby will be massive. She thought it was all a massive joke and really funny saying things like 'i will be interested to know how big she is' and 'you've got a whopper in there!' I don't think she realised how much it was upsetting me.
I wasn't scared about the birth before but she made me feel really scared and nervous and I spent the afternoon in tears after my appointment thinking she might get stuck on the way out if she's really big or something.

It doesn't help that everyone I've spoken to since thinks its funny aswell. It's all ha ha ha if you aren't the one who has to give birth!

I'm sorry for ranting. It's almost definitely me being hormonal and unreasonable lol

I've been bouncing on my ball tons to try and get her to come out but so far apart from some period type cramps and strong braxton hicks nothing seems to be happening and now I'm dreading going overdue because of her size.

So sorry for bringing the thread down. I will be happier tomorrow I will make sure of it!

Be careful today everyone, it's supposed to be boiling

Aww Baleb - Try not to be too down. Your body is designed to give birth so will somehow cope whatever the size. They can and will help the baby out if it gets stuck. If Kate can give birth to an 8lb'er I'm sure you will be fine. It can't be as massive as the 13lb'er in Germany!!

The worst thing you can do is to get stressed out as this will possibly make labour more painful as you are fighting against the contractions. Try and get a few more days peace in before the baby arrives. Afterwards when you are holding your baby, i'm sure it will all be forgotten (well i'm hoping anyway!!)

I've still got over 3 weeks to go and am getting the usual "if there aren't two in there, one is going to be massive".

Anyway off to the midwife to get measured and for her to tell me how gigantic it's going to be.

  • Hey Baleb - you have my sympathies. I've also found the last few weeks really tough going, and I don't really have any baby size issues to contend with. However I think that most people end up with a few anxieties towards the end: I know I do! From my ability to breastfeed to specific concerns about why I haven't gone into labour yet or what I'd do if something went wrong, I swear that the past couple of weeks have nearly done for me!

Take comfort though that there are a lot of us feeling similar to you, so maybe it's just normal for this stage of pregnancy (after it's all over, someone remind me to invent a surefire way of occupying pregnant ladies' minds when they're on mat leave - I'd pay almost anything right now to end the waiting around agony...)!

Hugs Baleb - that wasn't very professional or kind of your Dr. I would have been just as upset I'm sure.

MV - Congrats on full term :j I'll have to ask my MW what the protocol is for second time mums then as I know when I had DD they said that I wasn't to go to hospital until contractions were 3-4 min apart. When I went in they were between 2.5 and 3 min and I was 7cm dilated. So hoping for a nice quick one this time. But not too quick that I deliver at home. Or in the car. Don't fancy that one.

Fluffy - Those M&P ones looked nice that one of the ladies posted. I've got similar from Mothercare which I'm wearing at the mo because they fit and it's so hot at nighttime! When I had DD I think I switched from the big maternity pads to Always too quickly, as my minnie was so sore from the vaginal delivery, the Always felt too scratchy and not as cushiony as the big pads. I found myself having to sit on flannels a fair bot to alieve the soreness!

Apparently my 2 car seats are out for delivery today. But with Yodel *sigh*. I phoned up Boots again to cancel the first order (£88) and they said they will contact the courier to get it returned. I can pretty much guarantee that Yodel will return the second order (£73) and deliver me the more expensive one. And it will all be a big pita to resolve.

Anyways, hope everyone is well and the boldies are coping in this lovely sunshine :)

Oh and i do believe i might be nesting a little. Currently sat on a sofa with no cushions as I washed and hung out to dry the sofa throw, all sofa/armchair seat covers and all cushion covers. It's a lovely washing and drying day as my mum would say :)

It'll all be over soon and be a distant memory whatever happens you'll be fine.

Need to buy some new nighties but not seen any maternity ones. Anyone seen any? I will try to look at those M&P ones someone spotted when I get a chance. Also got out two thin dressing gowns ready. Hospital is roasting but you need something to cover up when guests visit.

With DD1 who was born March 2012 I didn't get any maternity nighties, I just got 2 cheapies from Primarni, they had buttons down the front so I could undo them and breastfeed. I just got a bigger size might have been 18-20. I was thinking they were so cheap I could afford to chuck them out if they got covered in blood and stuff, but they wash well and I was still wearing them after and now I'm pregnant again I'm wearing them so well worth the money!!
    Got married 13/11/10 :)
    DD1 born 25/03/12 :D
    DD2 born 28/11/13 :D

My first trimester super sore boobs are back so could do with some support at night.
