No angel that is just plain rude!!! I don't think I'd have kept my mouth shut but am very hormonal at the minute lol no one better cross my path at the minute ha
Littleskintdragon - just let her know your fears, if she doesn't take them seriously or your not happy you can always request to speak to some else, I had a traumatic birth and went to speak with a supervisor of midwives who talked me through what happened and why also options for this next one, it really helped put things into perspective, like they say though no 2 births are the same so hopefully this one will be more straight forward.

Thanks bella - I know that things will be different this time, like u said I just need reassurance. A lot of people complained about the midwife i had last time, and she no longer does the job.... So at least i havent got to see her
glad u managed to speak to someone and feel better xx
Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Boooo to rude midwives - not on at all! Last time I weighed myself I'd gained just over 2 stone so it's probably closer to 2 1/2 by now and no one's said anything to me. I think as long as you're not being unnecessarily lazy and eating ridiculous quantities of carp it's all okay.
Yay to going early MV! Ha ha, watch you go over nowI had a check yesterday and I'm not engaged at all. Next check will be T+8 and mw said she'll definitely be seeing me then! All booked in for a homebirth too and had a good chat with the mw about going over 42 weeks which I am highly likely to do. She said they'll automatically book me in for induction at T+14 and I'll just need to phone them in the morning to say I won't be attending. They'll then book me in for a detailed monitoring scan and see where we go from there. Crucially she said that the homebirth midwives would still attend after 42 weeks so long as everything was fine which I'm really relieved about
She also told me I had to write a birth plan, not because it's actually needed but because I seem to be in complete denial about the fact there's a baby round the corner. :rotfl:She's right!

NoAngel, what a cow! Personally I have been sitting on my backside most of the time but it's 'cause they told me to put my feet up - how else do they want me to do that? :rotfl:
MV I have serious bump envy;
Ordering a lampshade, bedding and a mobile from kiddicare this morning. It's the cheapest I've found what I'm looking for but what's with the lack of discount codes?! I don't feel like I'm getting a good deal without one!

Good grief if you're not allowed to be a bit lazy when you're heavily pregnant, when on earth are you allowed to be??
Great news on the home birth courgette. I recall when we were on the preg thread last time around you went really far over and didn't get the birth you wanted, so it's fab you can hopefully get that this time
My baby is 3/5 engaged and very low in my pelvis now. Funny I am still getting major movement in the evenings though. I always thought things started to slow own towards the end.
MW told me that as soon as my contractions are 20 mins apart I need to head for hospital, and if they try to send me home to stay on the premises. I hope it isn't going to be peak time or anything as my hospital is HUGE and it's going to be a bit embarrassing grunting and moaning with swathes of people walking past :rotfl:
What are you on about claree?? Your bump looks fab! Very neat and tidy..you don't look huge at all xMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Loving all the bumps ladies!
Just had my whooping cough jab. Didn't realise it also has tetanus, diptheria and polio in it. Anyone have any side effects afterwards? She said i might have a bit of a sore arm...0 -

My arm wasn't particularly sore but it did swell/go really red for a few days afterwards - totally normal I'm assured! My Debt Free Diary

Had my whooping cough jab last Thurs & no side effects apart from sore/aching arm!
WRT midwife mentioning weight - i would have slapped her
I am consultant led due to my BMI starting off in the 40's  but i have only been weighed once at my booking in appointment - but even consultant wanted an additional growth scan because of weight without even checking how much i had gained
I have put on 18lb so far - but i now weigh the same as i did when i started SW nearly 4 years ago  It will come off in the end though!0
