I had Pre eclampsia with first baby and I felt fine except for a bit of a dull ache across the top of my bump, it's only because my OH mentioned it to my step mum who happens to be a midwife :) she tested my blood pressure and urine and got me admitted. I was in and out of the hospital/day unit etc for the last 4 weeks of pregnancy but it was only to make sure baby and I was ok so I didn't mind and thankfully it stayed under control and everything worked out fine.

I'm getting a bit sick of hearing about the royal baby now, it's lovely for them and everything but there are other things happening in the world lol xx

I actually feel a bit sorry for Kate. I know I will get annoyed with everyone asking if anything has happened yet. I don't want to tell my MIL when it happens for fear she will camp outside. Imagine knowing the whole world was camped outside your labour ward!! No pressure then. Having said that, it must be a terrible hardship giving birth in a suite with a wine menu lol. Ah well I guess i'll make do with my free tap water and a cuppa when its all over. :rotfl:

TTC40 - It is worth keeping your eye out on the Cabriofix prices. 2.5 years ago, I got DD's from Amazon, a nice black one reduced to £60something. I was this close to getting the red one but I think it will clash with my planned buggy, so I'm holding out for a beige Pebble :)

Think this is the only day in the last few weeks I wasn't wishing bubs to arrive, don't want it to share the royal babies birthday. Though I've had so many texts checking if I'm in labour today!
Can't believe I've almost made it to my due date, having ds at 36+5 I just assumed this one would be he same!

It is so bad even OH couldn't drink it and he drinks anything.. The only thing I wanted once mine were out was to come home for a comfy chair, my bed and a decent cuppa!!

I have absolutely had enough now.. I just laid on the bed trying to reduce the painful swelling in my feet.. which didn't work :( and I think I broke my hip getting off the bed.. then typically about 2 minutes later OH came in the room... while I was still crying from the pain.. I need this thing out now... though I must avoid Friday, Sunday and Wednesday next week... though OH is wanting to go to sword class this week and next so you can bet it will want to appear then because he is 2 hours away!!

  • Hi everyone, hope you're all well.

Might have baby brain but feel like I haven't said anything for awhile.

I'm 31 weeks today and got 1 more working day to do tomorrow and then off until the 3rd Sept. I work the 3rd and the 4th and the start maternity leave (yep I work in a school).

Sooooo cannot wait, I'm sure though that it's got more to do with the fact that I know I finish tomorrow for holidays as no way would I have put in to start maternity leave at 31 weeks.

Really looking forward to just relaxing and not rushing around anymore. I've noticed the past week or so I'm needing a cat nap when I get home from work, which I experienced at the beginning of my pregnancy and then that feeling disappeared for ages.

I'm also looking forward to Wednesday night as hubby booked a surprise 4D scan. :j I've been a bit up/down due to being far away from my parents & sister and he wanted to try and cheer me up a bit.

I'm annoyed I didn't buy the car seat on Friday. Never mind, will keep an eye out. Kiddicare was great yesterday. Very helpful assistant who showed us several travel systems. Going to go with Quinny Buzz I think - like every other one, some love & some don't. Had to laugh (or cry) when assistant showed us one & then pointed out it was the 2012 model. The 2013 model was available - heavier chassis & different buttons to change the seats for £185 more!

I said we could live with the older version & she said 'well some of the younger parents do want the latest model' inferring that at 42 & 46 we weren't! Too right we're not bothered. Didn't buy as wanted to check out prices from home. Think will order online from Kiddicare to get 10% off. Also found a brand new carry cot for one on e bay for £34 including postage (business seller). They are £165 normally so have ordered that. If I am not happy with it when it comes I can return or resell. This baby is :money:as most of the clothes I have bought have been half price (let every one else buy the full price stuff!)

I was pleased that OH had been into a baby shop with me as it got him thinking about what we need. Downloaded a 'new born essentials' list which had 157 different things on! I crossed quite a few things off though which definitely aren't needed.
