Thats okay. Not everyone will understand.

OMG the Austrian monster hans Fritzl who locked up his children for years. Hes a monster

'We should do the same to him!':wall:
so should he go to prison as that is state doing what he did to the children.

He's not getting raped in prison though
  • I read this yesterday. From someone that has lost a child it is utterly heartbreaking and can certainly empathise with those that want to see her hang (I'd count myself amongst their ranks).

If you cannot distinguish between killing someone as a punishment for just about the worst crime imaginable and them torturing and killing an innocent child you live in a very blank and white world (where you cannot kill in self defence, do not believe in war etc etc).

I have not read the story. Was he allowed access? Was he in prison?
Or was he living round the corner and just lazy
  • He should blame the mum. It was her job to look after this child. No excuses. I hope that everyone associated with the prison that holds her, prisoners and guards alike remember that they are missing out on spending time with their own kids while they're stuck in the company of someone tortured her own.

If the mother doesn't get life meaning life she should be sterilised before getting out. Nothing further as the post would get deleted.

It's always the same kind of people that treat their kids like this too ;) The kind that have pitbulls that attack their own grandchildren and call their kids dumb names like Shantelle, and Xander, and Tyler and Ashleeeigh, in a world where it's not uncommon for a woman to become a granny at 35 or younger.

The kind of family that make peoples lives a misery with their chavvy barbeques and kids screaming in the garden bouncing up and down on their trampolines, while their (19 y.o.) mum is on the laptop playing internet bingo with Jeremy Kyle on the telly.

I'm talking about sink-estate underclasses: the badly treated, badly neglected children almost ALWAYS come from this kind of family, because many of them are not having children because they want them. Ergo; they have no CLUE how to look after them, nor do they actually want to.

With families and mothers like this; who have 'I really want a child' not even on their list of reasons for pro-creating, these poor, tragic little children stand no chance.

May this little boy rest in peace.

Lou, it's very sad, but you are spot-on. I live in a housing association property and the kids in the neighbouring cul-de-sac are exactly as you describe. They quite often come over and chat and tell me their little jokes and stories, as they like to visit my dog (and before any trolls start on me, it's nothing dodgy and they never come into my house). To a one, they are all bright, sparky, intelligent, friendly and decent children and, as they get older, it's possible to actually SEE them sinking into versions of their "parents" and drifting down the same paths. It's heartbreaking. Most of the kids could easily go on to be successful in their lives and careers if they only had a better example at home and some encouragement.

I do try and tell them that, if they keep paying attention at school then they could ACTUALLY achieve anything they want to be or do. But I doubt it sinks in. :( These poor mites were born purely because of a lack of birth control and/or a desire for more benefits/better housing. Some are "farmed out" to granny so that SHE can try for benefits for looking after them - while the children themselves (and I include the ones that are still toddlers in this) are left to wander unsupervised at will whilst their parents slouch in front of widescreen TVs. On one occasion one of the 8-year-old boys didn't want to finish what he was doing when he was called in for the evening. The lovely "father" marched out of the house and lifted the boy bodily off the ground by his ears. Another 8 or 9 year-old used to come over for a chat when I was in the garden because, apart from his teachers at school, I was the only 'grown-up' who didn't call him a "fat failure" (he was clearly neither).

I'm only in my 30s, but already older than some of these parents. And have been drafted in more than once to look for one of the tinier tots when they haven't been seen for more than two hours (and there is a river which runs right past our houses). It defies belief.

There's an excellent book, which has been out for a while, called "It's Your Time You're Wasting" by an anonymous teacher, who has to teach children like this at secondary school. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Its-Your-Time-Youre-Wasting/dp/0955285402/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372192836&sr=8-1&keywords=frank+chalk

He makes the similar point that teachers can predict what children are likely to achieve, just from their names on day 1 - James, Chris, Sarah, David, Lizzy and Claire will be top-stream and leave with good GCSEs; Shazney, Duwayne, Rio, Destiny, Jade, and Keeley will be lucky to leave with any GCSEs and no criminal record. It's sad but true.

It breaks my heart that innocent kids like Keanu Williams, Baby P and the Philpott's children didn't even have a chance to show the world how brilliant and decent they could be because they were robbed of their lives by the very people who ought to have loved and protected them more than anything else. Poor little things. :( xx
