  • NATWEST (cowboys of banking should have horse troughs at branches)

    Reclaimed £1410
    Recieved £1410

Sent 2 letters as per Martins advise both ignored, phoned with court threat and was told and i quote "take us to court our charges are legal and the courts know it". couldnt afford court fees so threatened FOS involvment, was offered full amount within days of threat. accepted 4 days ago just waiting for my lovely cash to come home to poppa!

after years of being screwed by the bank it felt good to be the screwer for a change.
  • Barclays

    Amount claimed £2994 inc interest
    Amount offered £1790

We filed our complaint 4 weeks ago with Barclays who have been suprisingly good at staying in contact. This morning we received the offer and will be accepting.

Thanks Martin we wouldn't of had the courage to do this without your help.:T
Lets hope they don't feel the need to close our account!

    Accepted £2800

Big thanks to Martin and his team. The process was quite painless (lucky me!) Got to the stage of waiting for a court date then received an offer through the post and was in account 5 days after accepting. So a message to all KEEP THE FAITH!!! AND DO NOT GIVE UP. You will get there in the end.
Have started a claim with my girlfriend and couple for my mother so onwards and upwards. Thanks to all and here's to a free holiday.

    Natwest Bank Plc
    Claimed £1544.00
    Accepted £1516.00

First letter written on 26th April 2007. Offer of £1516.00 received on 22nd June 2007. Status = Filed claim on Moneyclaim Online on 4th June 2007 which cost me £120. Natwest acknowledged my claim on 18th June 2007. I rang Natwest this morning stating i would accept offer with the addition of my court fee making a total of £1636.00. Natwest refused  by counter offer saying "the court fee was nothing to do with them, therefore they would not increase the offer".

I have decided to accept anyway, as Martin has always said.. it's essentially free money that we all thought was lost! I did intend to reclaim interest totalling over £500, but i'm not greedy, the offer was good enough for me. I was informed I will have the money in my account "within 10-14 working days".... it remains to be seen, but i've won!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Please do not give up!!! ... all I have done is write a few letters and stick to my guns.... now i'm £1500 better off!! :T

Good luck people, get it now whilst you still can... the banks will think of something soon i'm sure!

Followed system on here to MYCOL and over 28 days- my judgement was rejected as there was a bar put on the claim. Then apologised as they made a mistake!
They paid in full into my account today £1018
Now going to press for my MYCOL fee £120:beer:
I really think they push hoping we will give up or get scared
I found MYCOL staff on the phone nice and helpful.
Keep on trying- now going to for refunds for my wife and brother

Sent one letter off. Received "we will look into it for you" letter. They followed it up by advising they would respond no later than 28 days after their first letter. Recieved a letter from the bank 26 days later offering me £1965.00. Awaiting payment which they said would be received in my account 10 days after my acceptance received.

  • Bank: Natwest
    Amount Reclaimed:£3400

    Amount they paid:£3400
    The story:

Recieved an offer after using MCOL. This was for amount claimed (minus interest) - decided to sit it out until the 28 day deadline, didnt reply to the offer, then 1 day (by registered post!) before the deadline, cheques arrived for the full amount including interest. Decided not to press for court fees (!)

    Thankyou Martin!action-smiley-033.gif

Two weeks prior to a large hearing in Leeds, Barclays offered to settle in full. :)
