Bank: Nationwide
Amount claimed: £4028
Amount paid £4280
Started the whole process in february. Eventually got the standard reply, filed mclaim online. Paid my £120, sat back then put in a 14 day defence from their solictors. Waited to file judgement, although suprise suprise it was rejected because they had put in a defence of 'paid'. lol
A few days later the letter arrived, 15th June, I didn't even read the blurb my eyes just focused in on the figures.
The cheeky *insert swearword*s tried to charge me again, even though there are no payments going out or in on the account. A quick phone call got those charges wiped. Anything these crooks will do to try claw back some pay-out, they try.
If you are doubting yourself then don't, you will win! Make sure you follow the advice on here and consumer action website. Above all remember they can't defend, because as Martyn :money: says they need to reveal there costs and admit they're wrong.
Good luck, but hey you don't need it!
Keep the faith and spread the word...

P.S Don't email them, chase them or phone their solictors, stick to YOUR timetable.0 -
Bank: Royal Bank of Scotland
Amount claimed: £4,954
Amount paid £4588
Got the letter through the post this morning. It started of saying how they think the charges are fair etc, etc. So I was reading it thinking they are going to take this all the way. To my suprise on the next page they had made a good will offer of £4,588.
Happy days!!!!:rotfl:0 -

Success!!
Claimed through MCOL £3358.23
Received into bank account yesterday £2533.50
They have said this is a goodwill gesture!
I note from many other people that have dealt with Co-Op that not long after they pay out this they stump up the rest too. So will wait and see on that, but more than happy to get that amount back!

Seems to be the standard RBS/Natwest procedure :
RBS
Claimed : £3340
Agreed to Pay : £3340
I wrote to them a couple of months back, they said they would look into it.
They never replied so I sent LBA letter saying I would happily go to court, got a letter saying they were looking into it.
Was deciding on my next action (court action in scotland is a pain), when I get the two page letter from RBS saying "we believe our charges to be fair blah blah blah....then you get the good news on page 2.
Acceptance sent away on friday. Just waiting on the cheque :T0 -
Bank: Barclays
Reclaimed: £3,750
Amount Paid: £3,750
After a long battle with Barclays including letters, small claims court, Barclays defending, case going to Bromley County Court who did not want to try the case and forwarded it to The Royal Court of Justices in The Strand, London. I received a letter with a court date of 19th June 2007 and approx 2 weeks before the court date, Barclays wrote to me and whilst denying that they had wrongly charged, etc, didn't see the point in us both going to court and offered the full settlement if I dropped the case.
A few days later the money was paid into my account!
Barclays fight hard but pay up in the end.

OMG I can't believe I'm posting on this thread at last!!
Halifax Bank:
Amount Claimed £2,619.00
Amount Paid £2,600.00
Sent my letter with copies of statements on 21st May 2007, received the 'we think we are right in charging you oodles of money' standard letter about a week later. I rang and asked for them to re-evaulate which they did on 29th May. I left it till 18th June and rang 01977627422 (which isn't the number on the letter they sent me, but the number that's been quoted as being most useful on the 'halifax/BOS insider hints' thread!), just to nudge them along a bit and spoke to a lovely bloke that said that he would make sure his colleague looked at my claim later that day and assured me I'd have a letter before the end of the week. Got a letter this morning (2 days later), they were 'pleased to inform me as a goodwill gesture' they would be paying me £1,329.00. I rang the number on the top of the letter (01977 627310) and spoke to another nice bloke who ummm'd n arrrr'd alot and said 'well what figure were you thinking of to settle this then?', I said £2,600.00 (which is £19 less than what I was claiming, I decided to be cheeky!), I did say it while laughing!! He said that it would have to go to be re-evaluated then and didn't have a timescale for a response. I said I would like to negotiate this on the phone rather than keep waiting. So he put me on hold, then came back and spoke to his manager and said 'my manager has said that we would like to offer you £2,600.00 if that's ok with you?' ummmmmmm YES!!! Should be in my account within 14 days....I'm so happy!!
Thanks so much to the mods on this board, the posters and Martin :money: who have helped so many people go through this. :rotfl: sound like I'm accepting an oscar now lol!!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
