:j Sent the letter asking for my charges back got the usual response of were looking into it. The day after of issueing proceedings through MCOL i got a letter offering a full refund of charges minus the intrest. I rang the halifax and explained i have just issued courts proceedings to reclaim my charges and had to paid a court fee, but would accept their offer if they paid me the court costs. Just recived my cheque today:D
Bank: Halifax
Amount claimed:£220 (plus intrest £256.16)+court fee £30.00
Amount recived:£250.00
Thats one down three more to go though this one's being easiest upto now barclays are defending my other claim, but we got to keep on fighting.
Many thanks i couldn't have done it without this web site, good luck to all you others out there.0 -
Bank: Barclays

Requested bank statements, which took a few weeks to arrive then sent 1st letter on 15th May, had reply about how they were dealing with my complaint letter the next week then on Tuesday this week I received the offer of £3260. Whole process probably took 8 weeks from start to finish so not bad at all and I cant wait to start spending, he he!! :j
Like most of you if it hadnt been for Martin I would be sitting here still getting charged, but now I intend to spend within my limits. Thanks Martin0 -

Natwest
Amount owed £1110.00 (£1282.42 with interest)
Offerd £1110.00
Offer accepted.
Natwest ignored all of my communications with them so I proceeded with MCOL, the claim was deemed to have been issued on 9 June so they had until 23rd to respond. On the 14 June I received a letter from them offering me the full amount without accepting liability or error as a "gesture of goodwill."

9th April recived my staments.(that was quick )
10th April first request for my money.
23rd April recived letter from nationwide saying charges are fair under our t/c.

16th May requested a judjment against nationwide.
20th May phoned nationwide and they said they did acknowled and would have the judgement set aside.
20th May phoned mcol help line they told me that they had not recived any thing from nationwide.
spent the next ten days frightened that we had done something wrong.
31st May rang nationwide he said it would be in by end of the working day.

2, it is scary but all the answers are on this wonderful site
3, if you go as far as mcol dont be frightened to phone them and ask they really are very helpful

SIR MARTIN LEWIS

Bank: Abbey
Amount Claimed: £4621
Amount Paid: £4671 + £167.74 interest
This was quite a protracted claim having to go the full length on each stage reporting to ombudsman to get the statements to filing court proceedings. I was getting all psyched up to go to court when the letter arrived stating abbey will be paying in full plus interest and court fees of £200. will now commence the same procedure with other banks and credit cards.
This money will come in very handy to clear other debts and take a well deserved holiday:T :beer:0 -

To anyone wondering whether to file a claim online against LloydsTsb (after they won 2 cases) - DONT WORRY. We worried but decided to go ahead anyway. Filed claim online, they acknowledged 5th June, just before deadline. This morning we receive a letter from the court saying they are disputing the whole claim because it was paid on 11 June. Checked bank account and sure enough there it was. YIPPEE WE WON. Total claimed including court fee £816, Total paid £816.
Now to start on the credit cards .......Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
