Bank Charges Success Stories II

sammibabes wrote: »Hi,
Just looking for some advice / info.
I succesfully reclaimed nearly £500 from Barclaycard last year, before the cases were all on hold.
For some reason, I kept putting off my reclaim to HBOS...one of those "i'll get round to it" things.
Anyway, finally sent the first letter away early September with the £10 cheque (from a different account).
The cheque has been cashed, but I haven't heard a thing from them, so HBOS are now over their 40 day deadline to respond to me.
2 questions; Does this deadline still stand given the cases are all on hold?
If so, what do I do now as they havent responded?
Any help / advice greatly appreciated.
Barclaycard is a credit card so there is no hold on credit card charges cases.0 -
is there any point trying to claim back bank charges for only around £150. Does this include cheque fees or just overdraft fees? :beer:0

The ones I'm trying to claim now are Bank charges.
Just want to know if they are breaking rules by not responding to me within the 40 day timescale??
Ta much0 -
i only have charges @£100 is it worth doing the letter etc? Dont get anywhere onthe phone with them. Makes me angry because we only went over twice -matter of a few pounds and that after 15 odd years of perfect banking! £60 for going overdrawn for less than 48 hours seems a bit excessive to me.0

If you have money with them then explain that you feel that if the bank can simply say one mistake and that is it then so can you0 -
I am trying to reclaim bank charges. I contacted the bank well over a year ago and received a letter statingabout some legal proceedings between the OFT and the bank and that they have asked FSa to suspend normal proceedings and that my complaint has been log but it could take some time. I'm frustrated and don't know what to do now. can you offer any help ?0
