Bank Charges Success Stories II

I had to move my money because I kept going over drawn (by a few pennies) and because of this I would be charged. Due to the fact That I couldn't pay back I was charged for that to. It was like a cycle. it was affect my outgoings and I couldn't pay my creditors so I had no choice but to move my money else where.
Unfortunately, even I am amazed at some of the successes even with closed accounts. If the accounts were moved then the time to have claimed was prior to it when you were in the cycle of charges. You are in the queue though which means they will payout when they lose.0 -
Hi to everyone who has posted under this thread. It has given me the encouragement to begin the process. I am just at the first letter stage! Here goes nothing... wish me luck.
I'll let you know what happens.
Just one question - I have a personal loan with the bank. When/if we get to the final stage and they expect me to close the account, will I have to pay off the remainder of the loan as well? I note what has been said elsewhere regarding a parachute account but I'm a bit worried that they'll expect the personal loan to be paid in full if the account is closed.
Thanks for any help you can give.0 -

OK, so i checked with my bank and HBOS did cash my cheque, and still I havent heard from them.
Thats a week over their 40 day response time. What do I do now? Surely they cant just ignore me but take my money??0 -

I'm in the process of claiming £900 from Natwest under the waiver. I first called them 3 weeks ago, was directed to another number, who directed me to another number, who directed me to my branch to see a moneysense person, I was told that they would handle the claim in house.
Went to my branch, was told that (a) I couldn't see a moneysense bod for 2 weeks and (b) that my claim had to in writing to the customer relations unit.
So I sent the letter, outlining my charges and why I was in hardship.
Called them last week on the 17th, they hadn't received my letter, gave me a number to call back on this week.
Called the number today and was told that I had been given the incorrect number and was given another number. Dialled it and spoke to someone (eventually!) who seems to know what they are talking about!
Apprantly my letter/claim had been received and a response sent out on the 13th - despite me being told on the 17th that they hadn't received my letter. I haven't received their response and the woman on the phone didn't seem to know what the team have advised me.
Just to give some context, this is my main account and it's still open. All I want to do is speak to someone about charges, get them frozen/partially refunded so that I can get back on an even keel. I'm so frustrated that I could cry.0 -

99% certain that they would have sent you an income and expenditure form to complete.

The above thread has the correct details and blank income and expenditure forms(as you can guess I am NWSM there and here) and you need to register to open the PDF.
The post on NatWest gives timescales and the hardship forum itself tells you what you need to do.0 -
im in the process of going into an iva was wondering how this would affect my hardship case, would lloyds look at my case again or would it still put it on hold0

I think we all need to be realistic here, it is extremley unlikely that anybody will be getting their bank charges back any time in the near future, unless you are in financial hardship. If what I have read is true the banks can appeal to the European courts and that will delay things for a possible further 2 years. I just think its unfair to get peoples hopes up, I hope everybody does get them back but I think it is extremley unlikely.Claimed back almost £4000 so far from HSBC for mis-sold PPI
