Hey everyone.
I thought I had posted this but I guess I forgot...so here goes
Bank: Halifax
Requested: £650.84 (£543.00 charges + £107.84 interest)
Recieved: £650.84 Full outstanding owed.
I started the reclaiming process in February 2007, I sent several letters without a reply so I proceeded with going through the Courts, 5 days after (26th July 2007) Halifax were served the papers I recieved a letter telling me I would be refunded the money as a 'good will gesture' within in the next few days. The money was in my account on the 30th July 2007. I hadn't expected to recieve it as this all happened days after the test case hearing was announced so I forgot about it. Was a pleasant suprise I can tell you.
Since then I have barely used my Halifax account yet they have continued to charge me since the end of October 2007 for being initially £4.56 OD. Now they have had £868.00 out of me since then and I was expecting a large sum of money from an inheritance to go into that account last week but as I was OD after the charges I'm left with nothing. I'm going to reclaim again then close the account. I also have an Alliance & Leicester account I am going to reclaim on aswell.
Wish me luck!!!0 -
after watching :money: i visited website and deceided to contact Halifax about my charges that had been applied to my account i wrote to them and sent a list of all my charges totalling £ 399.00, received a letter a few days later in which they said would lookm into and contact me within 4 weeks i have today received a letter from them stating that they are prepaid to pay the full amount of £399.00 which will be credited to my account within 14 days:j :j :j thank you very much for your help at a much needed time...:T0

Bank: Lloyds
Amount Reclaimed:£1687
Amount they paid:£1687 + £500!
The story:
Used the templates and followed the advice AND stuck to my guns. The bank wriggled with all sorts of nonsense and I rapidly got a default against them. Then 5 days before the bailiffs were due to go in, they paid (not offered) £500 into my account and wrote telling me it was a settlement. The following day I was paid, in full, for my claim. So what about the £500? Well, there's a little hotel in Snowdon that will forever be remembered as 'Gwesty Lloyds"!0 -

Loan: Graduate Personal Loan
Sent my 1st Letter off 7 weeks ago had a letter back from the bank 2 weeks ago informing me that they were still looking into my claim. just got in from work to find a chuncky letter from the bank, informing me that they were very sorry that i felt it nessasery to complain and they have offered me £3428.90 + £1094.97 interest totaling £4523.87 :j which is fantastic as it will cut what i have left to pay back in halfso going to the bank this weekend to get it all sorted, but tonight me and the wife are going out to dinner to cellebrate

Barclays Bank
Claimed £1300
Received £1505 (including Court Courts)
After many threatening letters from me Barclays agreed to "see me in Court" I called their bluff and the day before the Court visit they paid up in full.
Thanks Martin:money:0 -
Bank: Halifax Plc.
Amount claimed: £630
Amount received: £700
Finally received my money from Halifax after 8 months of backwards and forwards correspondance and me coughing up £68 small claims court fee (N.Ireland). The Halifax rather underhandedly kept extending my overdraft whilst I was a student without my knowledge (obviously I should have been a bit more savvy also...), BUT they also started charging me whopping great unauthorised OD fees just 8 months after I finished uni, when their terms originally said that this would only happen 12 months after I had left full time education!!! Very slippery or what?!
They have the nerve to keep sending me advertisements through the post trying (in vain) to tempt me to take out one of their 'great extra value loans'. Needless to say, they all get recycled straight away!0 -
Bank Nationwide BS
Amount Claimed £30.00
Amount Received £30.00
I was a day late moving some money from my e-saving account in to my current account, before writing a cheque to pay the money into my NatWest account.
Nationwide referred the cheque and charged me £30.00.
Phoned Nationwide today and quoted Martin’s article about the bank charges not reflecting true administration cost, and felt that they have unlawfully taken the money from my account. They stated that there was an ongoing court case. When I explained that I was aware of the court case, they agreed to refund the £30.00 as a one off gesture of goodwill.
The real sting in the tail is that NatWest also charged me £30.00. So I will be on the phone to them tomorrow.
Will keep you updated on my progress with NatWest. As tight as two coats of paint0 -
