Thank you!!:beer:0 -
I sent a letter enquiring about it to Lloyds TSB as I'd asked for the Payment Protection to be removed & had a letter back this morning - FULL REFUND!!!

:T Bank: Lloyds, Barclays and Halifax
Amount claimed: £13500
Amount paid: £13000
My sister wrote a letter to Barclays claiming just over £10,000 bank charges on behalf of a friend. After the 2nd letter they settled up. She done one for me for Lloyds claiming £1000 i got £750 after having a meeting with the bank manager. Halifax paid nearly all of my £1400 after 1 letter. Although we were quite forceful with the first letter they were no pushovers. Between my sister and I we have claimed nearly £15,000 in bank charges and MEAFs. £15 grand for the sake of a couple of letters and phonecalls which have taken no more than an hour inclusive. PLEASE, PLEASE claim all your charges back and thanx to Martin Lewis and all MSEs for giving us people power!!!!!!

Bank: Halfax
Amount claimed: £394
Amount received: £312
Two weeks after my letter was sent, I was offered £70 and said "no thanks" via Martin's second template leter. Had 2 letters to say they were looking into it, blah blah blah and got an offer on Tuesday for £312, which i promptly accepted. It took about 8 weeks and the cost of 2 stamps - everyone should do it!:j :jTiger

Bank - HSBC
Amount claimed - £25.00
Amount received - £25.00
HSBC wrote to me on 18th April 2008, to tell me they had carried out the annual review of my Overdraft (their capital letter, not mine!) facility; they had previously informed me that they were going to do this.
The enclosed schedule showed that the terms of my overdraft had not changed but it did show an Arrangement (again, their capital) fee of £25.00.
Their 'Fair Fees Policy' says they will only charge fees for agreeing informal or formal overdrafts where they occur more than once in any six month charging period and that, as they had previously agreed a formal or informal overdraft within this period (Nov 2007 - the £25.00 fee for which was subsequently reimbursed), an Arrangement fee was payable.
I rang the call centre and eventually got through to someone at my branch - I pointed out that they seemed to be counting their own review of my overdraft as a 'request', triggering the arrangement fee. I said I felt this was an unethical and commercially short-sighted approach. The branch employee agreed that the fee would be reimbursed.
Not a massive amount, compared to some of the other wins, but as HSBC appear to be reviewing all overdraft facilities it might be a good idea to check your records for any previous overdraft requests; if you've only made one request in the previous six months and they try to charge you an arrangement fee, you should get them to waive it.

Lloyds tsb
Claimed - £1980
Had been refused point blank in my first reply. replied myself stating that i was willing to take it further, had another refusal.
one week later £750 was placed in my account as a goodwill gesture.
I was not willing to accept this and wrote a letter asking them to remove the £750. Nothing has been taken out.....hoping to claim the remainder of the £1980 once the court case goes through...fingers crossed...
Thumbs up to Martin for taking the time to educate the masses on money matters :beer:0 -
Just received an ex gratia payment for a friends bank account (beginning with Y) of £1050
The total we were claiming was £1600 but they have said that if the OFT case falls in our favour we can still claim the outstanding amount !
I see this as a guilty admittance
Claim was put forward as a hardship case (low income single mum) and blamed the bank for their excessive charges for her debt

I sent my first letter to lloyds on 19/03/08 and had my first response has been ok, our charges are not unfair but we will pay out all the charges and the interest and 14 days interest while you consider our offer.
