Received £720 from A&L thanks to the info and templates from this site
many thanks0 -
Just a note to all those who have got £750 from Lloyds TSB. My husband had that awarded him and put into his bank as full and final settlement. He has written them a letter accepting it as part settlement and that when we win against them in the test case in the court we will expect the rest of what he was claiming. If you accept in full and final settlement when the court decides in our favour you will not be able to get the rest of the money out of them as you agreed to accept it in full and final settlement.
Just make sure they get a letter from you on record explaining this.I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.:eek:0 -
Amount claimed: 468.00
amount received: 750.00
Wrote a letter to lloyds for my mum on the 10th May. Received a letter saying they charges were fair and they were not going to refund charges. I sent the 2nd letter and received a letter in june asking me to bare with them and they would try to resolve any issues. Heard nothing since and thought all was lost when i heard about the test case, my mum rang me this morning to tell me 750.00 was paid into her account as agoodwill gesture!!!!
Thanks again martin!!!!:money:0 -
Bank : Lloyds
Amount claimed : £4700
Amount paid : £4363

I started the process back in April. Lloyds very slow to respond, eventually telling me that they had done nothing wrong. They told me that if they didn't hear from me by end of June they would close the case. I wrote back immediately, but they ignored the letter. I then wrote to FO who responded within a week. Funnily enough, LLoyds then contacted me to stae that they were sorry I had a complaint, and were doing their best to rectify it. They informed me that I could go to the FO, but they would prefer it if I settled it with themselves!! Too late!! Within few weeks, the FO informed us that LLoyds had agreed a payout, with denial of any wrongdoing. Then the announcement of the test case came, and LLoyds told me that all payments have been postponed. Then out of the blue, this week, a payment put into our account, followed by short letter from Lloyds.
I would just like to join the many others in saying a huge THANK YOU to this site - I wouldn't have had a clue where to go otherwise!!:T :T :T0 -

Halifax
claimed £3772
won £3772
used FOS, finally accepted full and final offer on 01.08.2007, but am still being fobbed off by Halifax customer relations as to when the funds will be paid into my account. They keep quoting 6 weeks etc, but my kids need a holiday now during the last weeks of their summer holidays. any tips on how to hurry them along will be most grateful.0 -
Bank: Alliance & Leicester
Amount Reclaimed: £3,900 (with Interest)
Usual excuses to start with then offered £1,000 if I also signed to say that would be the end of it and no future claims and I will accept their terms and conditions to charges in the future.
I refused and stated that I would accept £3,200 (total without interest), several days later a letter arrived saying NO... I then filed a Northampton County Court claim 3 days after the news broke about the test case (cost £120). The Alliance and Leicester applied for a Stay and it has been granted despite the Alliance and Leicester not being one of the banks involved in the test case.
Maybe I should have accepted the £1000 but it was a long way short of the £3,900. Very dissapointed at the moment when I read so many success stories and mine isn't one of them.
Who knows, maybe in the months ahead the trial case will be in my favour, at least I tried and I did have a chance to take the £1,000 on offer...0 -
Bank: Lloyds T.S.B
Amount Re paid : £672
Just like to say a really BIG THANK YOU to Martin for the advice given to enable me to re claim the money. I really didn't think that I would get any thing especially since the bank I'm with was involved in the test case.
It's taken since April, but I got there in the end!!!
Thanks ever so much!:A0 -
