  • Bank: Lloyds TSB
    Amount claimed: £2665
    Amount paid £2885

Started the process a couple of months ago. All previous letters ignored so i started court proceedings. I received a letter to say they were contesting it then a month passed and I received 2 letter one saying they were going to fight it, and the other saying we will settle this for my amount plus court fees of £220 which I settled for.

I signed their piece of paper and within a week the funds were in my bank.

:j Don't give up, keep up the good fight, it's our money not theirs.

  • WOW!!!

HSBC have refunded bank charges from the last six years - £1,873.35. FANTASTIC. I would thoroughly recommend anyone considering this process to do so, I had to suggest court action for a response, but definately worth it. Just having a bit of bother with Lloyds TSB who have refused the other halfs claim, but will continue onwards and suggest going to court, especially given the verdicts in Hull.
    THANKYOU MARTIN.

    Amount claimed: £298.72
    Amount paid: £298.72

I just wanted to say thanks to Martin for all his useful advice. I first wrote to Lloyds TSB to reclaim charges back in February and it wasn't until today (July 23rd) that I received a letter from the bank's solicitors to say that they will pay the full amount owed.

I was due to face Lloyds in court on August 1st so they left it until the last minute before they conceded. I was increasingly worried that I would end up having to attend the hearing, but I took Martin's advice and kept my nerve. I am so happy that it has paid off.

My advice to anyone who is considering giving up so as to avoid going to court, is to hang on in there and have faith that it's in the bank's interests to pay up, rather than face costly court proceedings.

Thanks very much for all the great advice that's available on the site and for assisting me in reclaiming nearly £300 which I thought that I would never see again.

  • Hi my claim started in Jan.I was claiming £6,700 against Abbey. After filing a court claim i realised i had made a mistake with my interest calculations and had to make an application to the court to have the amount reduced. My application hearing was on 3rd July and both Abbey and myself had to be there.Abbey didn't turn up on the day and Guildford County Court didn't like this.I recieved a letter on 13th July from Abbey telling me they were putting the full amount (£6442) into my bank account which they have done today. I just wan't to thank this fantastic website for all the help and advice i have been given and to urge other people to keep going with their claim as there was many times i could have easily have given up . Please keep going with claims as i can assure you it will be worth it in the end.
