    reclaimed £2000
    paid £2000

thankyou Martin , wouldn't have had a clue, where to start without your web site  .
started claiming in May, coop have paid up without having to threaten court action. paid money straight into account 2 days before receiving letter from them, expresing their regrets that we were not happy with their service and explaining that as a gesture of goodwill they have credited our account with £2007.50. so thanks for giving us the chance to be overdraft free for the first time in many years.:rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Bank: Alliance & Leicester
    Amount Reclaimed: £253
    Amount they paid: £283
The story: Claimed charges back and the Bank tried to fob us off with £22 settlement so we followed Martin's guide and took them to Court. They paid exactly what we asked for (including interest) and paid our Court costs. To be honest I never thought taking them to Court could be so easy. Cheers Martin you're a star!

  • Bank: HSBC
    Amount claimed £3900
    Amount received £4020:beer:

Went through the long whole process and even wrote a ""without predijuce "" letter sying i would settle for £2900 ,which they ignored and wrote letters stating i had agreed to pay the charges when i signed up for the account(scare mongering,..just ignore those if you get any)
1 week before county court hearing wrote settling whole amount to include the £220 in court fees i had incurred!
I would say to anyone ,persevere and you will win!
    Good luck!!

THANK YOU TO THIS SITE FOR GIVING ME COURAGE TO FIGHT THE BANK!!

  • Bank: HSBC
    Amount Reclaimed: £3670.96
    Amount they paid: £3622.91

The story: I requested my statements back in February so this has taken 5 months and got to a week before my court date before it was settled. I had the Hitchin judge who seems to think its her personal mission to make claiming these charges back a nightmare but after sending of my particulars of claim 3 times i finally got a court date and HSBC settled 2 days later.
  • HBOS

    Claimed £8225
    Receied £8490

They tried holding out on 18 months statements. Couldn't find copies, But could send records of every transaction in our account. Trying to hide the tree in the woods. My first request (minus these details was £4800). After filtering figures required arrived at above total.
On third contact (2 letters and last by phone), with the promise of action thru the Sherriff Court (Scottish Law). gained this result, Nix Carborrundum Illigittimi.

  • I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone on this site because without these success stories I would not have made a claim.
    Bank: Halifax
    Amount claimed: £4312
    Amount paid: £4330
Don't ask me how they paid more than I claimed but if they are happy with that then so am I!!. I wrote the first letter claiming only the charges with no interest (£3701), got the standard reply. Sent the 2nd letter, no reply. Began the court procedure online, also claiming the interest. They acknowledged the claim with 2 days to go to the deadline, but ended up paying up 10 days later with a letter basically saying that they would probably win if it went to court but it would not be "commercially viable".
By getting this money back I have managed to clear 2 of my credit cards and now only owe £497 on the final one. However this success has encouraged me to get statements from all my credit cards and start claiming these charges back too. I keep telling everyone I know about this because whenever I heard Martin going on about reclaiming bank charges on Radio 2 I kept thinking it was one of those things that happens to everyone else. Now I have succeeded I can't believe my luck and I am trying to spread the word.
Don't give up - it's your money, get it back
