I won - Nationwide.
Only claiming for £230 but actually sat in court this morning. They took it all the way indeed and tried every trick in the book to scare me off. I got expenses, loss of earnings and travel etc and my !!!! had barely hit the seat as I was winning (solicitor never turned up of course).
Many thanks, and as said before - ever give up0 -
Hi guys,
I thought that i'd let you know that i finally received a letter from RBS today giving me 100% of my charges back. That's £2300. :j
It has taken it's time as my original letter as my original letter detailing down my charges and requesting them back was sent to them on the 29th April!!
I was told that it would take 8 weeks and then on the 8 week deadline i was told that they were still awaiting their copy statements so they could cross reference my claim. They did say that if i faxed them copies of my bank statements that would speed up the process, but as there are 60+ pages i decided that wasn't one of their better ideas. They said that it would be another 14days and i called them a few times and politely made a fuss. the last time was last Friday, well this Monday i received a phone call from customer services saying that my offer letter had gone out and i would be receiving it in upto 10 days time.
Well it arrived today and i have already signed it and sent it back requesting my cheque as i no longer have the RBS account.
So i guess the moral of the story is sometimes to have a little patience as i could have got stroppy and issued court action, i was very very tempted, but that would have cost £100+ and i wouldn't have been able to reclaim it. maybe i should have pressed for interest too, but 100% refund on charges is not bad for a few hours work.
Only got 60% from Barclays - wish i had pressed them harder now!! Oh well...0 -

Thanks to Money Saving Experts, i would never have done it without reading all the success stories on this forum, now doing it for most of my family !!!!!

Hi, I used Martins web site to claim my son's bank charges back in May with interest for £3029.50 and althought they didn't reply within the 14 days, he rang them and they said it was in hand, anyway he has had an offer for £2700. as a take it or leave it offer, as you can imagine from a 24 year old he has snapped thier hand off. Thanks Martin for giving many a frightned person that will not take on the banks a bit of confidence to do so. Maybe he could have pushed further for more, but hey, it's been and gone and it's back in his pocket less £300.0

Bank:Capital One
Amount Owed:275
Amount Received:305 (30 court costs)
First letter sent in March, eventually got back to say they would look into it. Took them 28 days to reply saying they were within their rights and that they do not accept my complaint, sent a letter threatening them with court action, this was ignored. After 14 days I applied to the courts, this was 2 weeks ago, they had 28 days to respond. I received a letter this morning to say as a goodwill gesture they have repaid all the money owed into my credit card account:T
Bank:Halifax
Amount Owed:1657
Halifax are prooving to be difficult ones to deal with, went through the same as above, they didnt respond to the threat of court action within the 14 days, so I applied to the courts at a cost of 130, then I went online to check my Halifax account and noticed 637 pound that I didnt put in. Next day I received a letter to say they had put this money in as a goodwill gesture and that if I accept it I've to do nothing, if I dont accept their offer I've to contact them.
The court claim has gone in and I'm contacting them on monday to tell them I dont accept their offer.:mad:0 -

Received the standard letter that it takes 6 - 7 weeks for bank to look at complaint. Waited 7 weeks and bank offered £4770. Easy. Thanks a lot for all the help I got from reading this site. How long do banks take to pay the money into my account0 -
