Hi Blodwen, good to see you posting. I took weeks to lose the last few pounds before target so just keep cracking on and you'll get there.:) Ironically, when I got to target, I was so locked in to eating SW that I carried on losing. I've even had to pay for falling below target a few times!
Doubt I'll have that problem but it does seem to be ingrained, so even though I am eating stuff I wouldn't eat on SW I seem to kind of make up for it at other times, e.g. yesterday I had berries, yogurt, weetabix and honey, thai chicken and salad on a sandwich thin, a hi fi light bar, and a chicken kiev - a real one- but with SW chips, carrots and broccoli. Today will be even more SW-like: All bran, raisins and banana, tuna nicoise salad, and SW chilli from the freezer with rice. There may or may not be a double decker in there somewhere :rotfl: I am loathe to say I've cracked it as I know I will always have to be vigilant and don't want to tempt fate, but the fact that I am (most of the time anyway) choosing this kind of food when I can have what I like is a good sign
Wish we had an aldi - going to try and Lidl tonight for some veg - but I remember thinking the last time I went it was no cheaper than asda or Tesco.
I find it hard as I cook for one and so I have to go shopping every couple of days to buy fresh stuff as and when I need it or else it just goes off
I have found lidl's prices ok but the fruit and veg does seem to go off quickly. Aldi can sometimes too but not as quickly as lidl. I did start doing things like buying a few bags of value peppers from asda, chopping them all up and freezing them, but it was so much hassle (and not really cheap) that I'm going to buy frozen ones from farmfoods when these are finished - don't really buy much frozen veg as thought it'd be soggy but my mum does and it's fine. Would definitely give batch cooking and refrigerating/freezing a go- if you have a free afternoon at the weekend can use a lot of the veg while it's fresh then you have your meals all ready for you. One thing I made loads of portions of was the hairy dieters paella - froze really well and when I fancied one for lunch just grabbed one out of the freezer, lasted for a few months but all gone now so need to make some more, mmm!I do exactly the same - I've currently got 3 freezers full of stuff! I really need to use some of it up. That is my challenge for the coming month! I've already done a plan for next month but have decided I'm going to go through the freezers and change the plan to use up some of the meals and soups I've currently got in there.
Will hopefully use up enough food to be able to turn off at least one of the freezer when we go on holiday in September and also save some money on the food shopping:money:.
Denise
I have 2 freezers full and am trying to do the same, just to make a bit of space (although there are plums from our tree filling one drawer, waiting to be made into wine) - having the chilli tonight to make a start. Ours also seems to be filled with stuff on offer and whoopsied things like packs of bread rolls for 9p and sell by date mince. That's a good point about saving money, we go away in Sept too so would be good to save a bit by not buying as much food until then.

Having a Green day today:
B - Magic rice (LO cooked rice with banana & custard Muller stirred through)
L - carrot & corriander soup (which we didn't have last night), bread (HEB)
D - Spicy beanburgers, SW chips & beans
Denise
Change of plan for lunch - the carrot & corriander soup doesn't look (or smell) very nice so have binned it:(. Have got some oddments of celery out of the freezer and will do a quick celery soup instead. Should be enough to freeze a portion or two as well for later in the month.

Thanks Blowden unfortunately my freezer broke some time ago and I haven't got the money yet to replace it so I'm stuck with the fridge for now.
Went to Lidl last night and wasn't impressed again. Its handy to me though and easy to get parked at and quiet which is the only reason that I go.
Last night I got Denny Sliced Ham, A large Cabbage, Red Pepper, Spring Onions, Green Tea & Two Courgettes and it was £5.79!!!!!
You can get 3 blinking peppers in Asda for £1 at the mo!
Anyway today went well enough although I did eat the full 15 syns.
Did much better on the fluid intake though.
So today
B: Rachels low fat lemon and ginger yogurt - 3 syns
L: Ham & Veggie Stirfry (made last nite) SF & 2 Babybel Lite (HE)No idea yet but will have to involve cabbage & courgettes
Will maybe mix them in with some noodles?
Any suggestions for cabbage and courgettes??
Really need to reduce my outgoings for various reasons at the min so now I'm going to have to be extra orgainsed0 -
lantanna~try free cycle for a freezer.
Word of mouth is good too.
I got one from a friend of a friend & best of all was free.
I now buy frozen onions and it is so much easier for me.

I agree, I would never say I've cracked it. I'm too prone to evening munchies. That's why I still come on here regularly to keep me focused. I think it's trendy to call it mindfulness;). Last night I resisted crisps but had a couple of spring onions with a few slivers of cheese (I'm hoping still enough left from my HEA).
Today's EE plan:
B: 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas, NAS Ribena
L: stir fry or fruitSW Bolognese from freezer
Syns: none planned (I always try to have a light day before WI) but may have a bit of Parmesan with supper and/or do the cheese & onion munchies thing again tonight. I'll try to go easy on the tea to leave some HEA.
I'm another Farmfoods frozen veg fan. My favourite is their frozen leeks which are so much better value (as there's no prepping or waste) than fresh ones. I've got masses of courgettes to use up. I've frozen some for the winter but I'm on the lookout for recipes too. I thought I might try this:
http://www3.sainsburys.co.uk/littleones/pregnant-mums/recipes/item/ham-and-courgette-frittata
ETA: I did see a recipe with tinned potatoes used for frittata. That would make it quicker and cheaper. Might try it sometime.0 -
Reporting in after my first weigh in, 3lbs gone!
Happy with that as not massive amounts to lose!
:T0 -
Well done one step forward.!!
Hoping to get to 3 lbs off myself this week.
Just done a menu plan for the rest of the week - including my alcohol for the weekend.
If I stick to it I'm hoping for a good loss.
Just about to have some Sin free fried rice with ham, egg and loads of veggies that I made last night - yum.

My plans went awry yesterday and I actually didn't eat until 4pm. I had to go with DGD to the hospital and it wasn't until late in the day I realised I hadn't eaten. I bought a lentil salad. Then when we left the hospital at 8pm we bought a Chinese meal deal from Mr T and I ate the rice and chicken sweet and sour. Then drank too much white wine.
Today I have had 2 x egg and 2 x sml slice of wholemeal bread. (HEB)
2 cups tea with semi skimmed milkbusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Syns - from an 800g loaf, 1 thick slice is 5.5 syns and 1 medium slice is 4.5 syns.
