Finding that my weight loss is really slowing down:(
So looking back to see what I did at the beginning that I'm not doing now or have gotten complacent about.
So thought I'd post them here as it might help someone else:)
- Drink green tea ( other than my two coffees a day) Have stopped doing this
-Drink lots of water (have stopped this as well)
-Drink no added sugar juice at home (stopped doing this as well and back on the diet coke)
-Have at least 4 - Aim for 5 alcohol free nights a week (Alcohol creeping in nearly every day for the last two weeks)
-Count syns and write everything down that I am eating (Had stopped doing this and counting syns
- Make sure at least one third of my plate is superfree - had stopped this and meals where starting to look a bit beige again. Off to buy some veggies tonight.
So there is goes! Hoping to have a good week this week and get at least 3 lbs off - Started off well today so hopefully my motivation can be kick started :rotfl:0 -
Hello all,
Just a quick check in to say that I am still here and still on the wagon! Been reading the thread when I can but work is really busy and as I'm still doing the 'not really but kind of SW' diet (aka 5:2 but most of my meals seem to be SW based anyway) I've not been posting. Lost 8.5lb over 4 weeks but was away last week and had a small gain at WI last night - now I'm not too far from target I can't get away with anything any more! Still, am back at work and into my routine so should get that off (and hopefully a bit more) next week. Really want to get as close to target as possible before I go away to a wedding in early Sept so will just have to crack on and also keep going with the exercise - still cycling to work and have started doing it every day now instead of just 3 days a week - really enjoying it but we'll see how that pans out when the weather starts to turn! :rotfl:

Hi Blodwen, good to see you posting. I took weeks to lose the last few pounds before target so just keep cracking on and you'll get there.:) Ironically, when I got to target, I was so locked in to eating SW that I carried on losing. I've even had to pay for falling below target a few times!:eek:Does anyone else find it is hard at times to do this on a budget and that you are always out buying food every couple of days! I do
I don't find it hard to stick to SW on a budget. I'm in the fortunate position that I don't have to be frugal but I hate being ripped off so I do it as cheaply as possible which then leaves plenty of money free for wine syns, eating out and buying small clothes!:D I do a weekly meal plan and a weekly shop. Admittedly I do have more time now for shopping around but I was the same when I worked full time as I found having a plan made my shopping much quicker. Going into shops every couple of days is destined to make you spend.:(
I was good last night at dancing class 'party'. I stuck to crudit!s and cherry tomatoes. Only syns were in a bit of dip but probably no more than half a tbsp. I did eat a few crisps when I got home due to DH tempting me!!
Today's EE:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, fried egg, HEA milk for teas
L: may have a small stir fry or just fruitpork casserole with rice (includes peppers, onions, carrots, beansprouts, courgettes, mushrooms).
Syns: a squirt of sauce with breakfast and some in the casserole. There's a spoon of honey, sherry, oil and cornflour but I'll use a small spoon and share it with DH so should be fine.
Have a good day all.:)0 -
Aero - I agree with Aero your partner doesn't seem to be eating very much and also doesn't seem to be having syns. Without having syns he's not really sticking to plan properly. The 5-15 syns a day are part of the plan.
Denise
I have to agree with Denise. I think your partner should have his maximum syns aero, he can always cut back if he needs to. I work on a bank of 105 syns and subtract through the week so I use most at weekends. Also, maybe you didn't post his menu in detail but, as well as looking as if he's not eating enough, there don't seem to be many SFs there. I'm convinced that planning and the third (at least) of SFs every day are the most important features of SW. That and not going over syns of course!:rotfl:0 -
As someone recommended a couple of days ago I am going to list what I am eating and hopefully I will find where I am going wrong. I also would like some help with breakfasts.
I haven't had anything except an apple today as I am bored with porridge every day. I have been eating it for about four years!! I have been looking through for some breakfast inspiration without bread as I am wheat free.
Yesterday I had
B; 2 scrambled eggs
L; 2 small slices wheat free bread (HEB), tomato puree, pickled beetroot, lettuce, tomatoes and 2 slices low fat mozerella.
D; pasta bolognese made with loads of vegetables
Snacks 5 apples, strawberries, I was really hungry yesterday evening.
Drinks;5 x mugs tea with semi skimmed milk and 2 pints sugar free lemonade, 2 fruit teasbusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

well after a bad week of being ill and still not feeling 100% i have still managed a 3lb loss so i am well pleased. need to go shopping today and hopefully get to aldi who have cherries, nectarines, chestnut mushrooms and butternut squash all for 69p. not had cherries or nectarines for years. need to get a few strawberries too so i can increase my choice of fruit instead of being limited to apples, oranges, bananas and grapes0

Hi maman. We do have plenty of SF's. He's a keen gardener so our meals contain lots of veg, and pudd on a night usually involves some sort of fruit (usually berries) with yoghurt or creme fraiche, often with low calorie jelly or honey too. One of the pleasures of this diet is rediscovering having a pudding with every meal, it does actually encourage you to eat more so you don't ever feel hungry. I've possibly misrepresented a bit what he eats as he does have snacks between meals, ie the odd bit of fruit, crabsticks etc, and our meal on a night is usually a filling one.
Hopefully the static weight is just a blip. I've passed on to him people's comments regarding using his syns. Thanks for those. Mine tend to go on alcohol but he's not really a drinker.0 -
Wish we had an aldi - going to try and Lidl tonight for some veg - but I remember thinking the last time I went it was no cheaper than asda or Tesco.
I find it hard as I cook for one and so I have to go shopping every couple of days to buy fresh stuff as and when I need it or else it just goes off0 -

Yes I have the same problem. Same with meat too, I end up going shopping 3 times a week and it is costing a fortune!
Had a hospital appointment this morning and was stuck waiting for over an hour and got absolutely ravenous. Went into the cafe and gave into a pastry. Looking at the choices I thought the pain au raisin looked healthiest but I just looked it up and they are 18.5 syns!!! Would of been better off with a croissant.
oh well will just have to be extra good for the rest of the day.
had vietmanese pork in mooli bites from marks which are only 2 syns and are lovely. and a load of grapes.
will make something syn free for dinner tonight though0
