Wish we had an aldi - going to try and Lidl tonight for some veg - but I remember thinking the last time I went it was no cheaper than asda or Tesco.
I find it hard as I cook for one and so I have to go shopping every couple of days to buy fresh stuff as and when I need it or else it just goes off
I know it's hard and I do shop at Aldi for most basics. I cook for 2 so it is easier for me. I find my freezer is my friend. I buy packs of meat and portion them up before freezing. I bought the Sainsbury's half syn sausages this week @£3.50 for 16 sausages. That's 4 meals for DH and I with mash and veg. I make up soups and sauces (Bolognese, chilli, curry etc.) and freeze those for HM ready meals. We tend to eat up things like cauliflower and broccoli early in the week and then rely on carrots, onions, white cabbage, grilled (when going ripe) tomatoes and mushrooms or frozen veg as the week goes through. I'm no paragon, I learned most of this on the OS boards and have adapted many of my original recipes to suit SW.0 -

I do exactly the same - I've currently got 3 freezers full of stuff! I really need to use some of it up. That is my challenge for the coming month! I've already done a plan for next month but have decided I'm going to go through the freezers and change the plan to use up some of the meals and soups I've currently got in there.
Will hopefully use up enough food to be able to turn off at least one of the freezer when we go on holiday in September and also save some money on the food shopping:money:.

Poohbear - you wanted some ideas for breakfast apart from porridge & toast. Here's a list of some of the breakfasts I've got planned for the coming month:
Fruit & ff yoghurt; Full English; Various omlettes, boiled eggs & soldiers (at the moment you can still get hold of asparagus and you could use that instead of bread to dip); bacon & mushroom sandwich; various cereals with milk; magic rice (ie rice cooked without salt, stir through a ff yoghurt such as Mullerlight - I like it with the banana & custard one).
Don't know if you have access to the SW website but if you do there are loads of ideas on there. Alternatively have a look at the Minimims website - masses of ideas and recipes on there.
HTH.

Afternoon everyone!
Got my first weigh in tomorrow morning at 9.30 and am tempted to skip breakfast and take in fruit/hi fi bar for after I've stepped on scales! Obviously want to make a good impression on first week!
What does everyone else do? Would it make that much difference?
Keep up the good work everyone and I'll report in tomorrow!0 -

My consultant is really good and provides us with food from the sw recipe books to eat after we have weighed in as she knows most of us wont of eaten dinner beforehand.0 -
Hi all,
Had a migraine yesterday so it was:
B - banana on 2 slices of wholemeal
D - bowl of plain boiled rice with lime juice as I felt really icky
Today I just don't fancy anything. Haven't had anything to eat yet, but I'm keeping up with fluids. There's loads of fruit in the fridge and I'm usually really keen but I just don't want anything
Been working on setting myself my rewards for each half stone and stone to target, as I think I might get my first half stone this week.

Hi, thankfully not for a long time0 -
Hi Aero,
Well that's a plus, as those can be a big challenge to your weight loss. I wondered if perhaps that was the cause of the stall, but it would seem not.
I echo the idea of posting a food diary for a few days and we can see if there's anything obvious.

Lots of people at my group do that, mostly tubs with fruit and yogurt. I just try to do the same thing every week. So on WI day I have my lightest breakfast (cereal) and try to wear the same or very similar clothes. So then I'm comparing like with like every week.0
