  • Skint_Catt, perhaps we should adopt a "don't feed" approach? I did type a response and then decided we needn't justify ourselves to random people on the interweb ;)

B - SW quiche on the hoof, as we had an appointment at the eye infirmary in the centre of the city at a stupid time this morning. The news was good, OH is starting to get vision back in the eye which had the stroke :)
L - banana on granary toast with some strawberries
D - not sure yet. If OH recovers sufficiently to get his train to London I'll defrost a portion of veggie balti to have with some rice. If he stays I'll defrost some gammon steaks to have with fresh pineapple rings, SW chips, mange tout, green beans, carrots, sweetcorn

Melon will be the snack of the day :)

HEA was the cheese in the quiche, HEB will be the toast at lunch. Syns will be sugar and milk, and some curry paste if I have the frozen veggie balti

Tonight is my first class, and I'm really excited :D

Have lots of mushrooms to use preferably tonight so does anyone have any good receipes except for omelette? Something with noodles would be nice :D Thanks

What else do you have in? Something in the mushroom chow mein vein springs to mind?

Spring onions or sliced white onions, beansprouts if you have them, strips of pepper, or small florettes of broccoli, or shredded cabbage? Definitely crushed / grated garlic and ginger. Could chuck in ham, bacon, chicken if you have some. Cook the noodles (I just pour boiling water over mine and leave while I do the rest) then add. Wok it together with some soy sauce, chuck in a 150-200ml of chicken stock and reduce to make a sauce.

I could tell the Troll that I know 100% that aspartame WASN'T the reason I got fat, but he won't listen seeing as he's the only one who's right in the world :rotfl::wall:

Drinking lots of water today as I'm melting in the heat though I refuse to complain as the winter will be here soon enough! :D

Just had a nice relaxing brunch while my dd naps - egg, bacon, mushrooms & tomato :)

Mushroom chasseur is very nice. I got the recipe from "A girl called Jack" website. It's very tasty.

It has 100ml of red wine in it which you'll need to syn although I didn't use it as I didn't have any red wine open and didn't want to open it just for a small glass! (I would probably of ended up drinking a couple more glasses too!) Without the wine it's FREE.

I served it with rice but can't think of any reason why you couldn't serve with noodles.

Update; The chasseur won tonight - not only because I have all the ingredients in (hubby's always got a bottle of red open but I'm going to leave it out anyway) but I read the post on A Girl Called Jack where she's giving the last of her food to her son & she's not having dinner or breakfast, she's selling everything she possibly owns to keep a roof over their head & she had me in tears. Very few of us have this sort of thing to worry about & it's heartbreaking - I wish I could help her.

That post, Hunger Hurts, is from nearly a year ago. She seems to be doing ok now, and is campaigning hard for poverty in this country to be acknowledged as the problem it is. I think she's writing a book of recipes based on her experiences to help others. She makes bean burgers for 9p each and stuff. Just wanted to put your mind at ease. That's not to say that there aren't 500,000 people in the UK in that position though, skipping meals to feed their kids and not knowing where the next food will come from :(

Full fat yogurt is miles healthier than zero or low fat in most cases. When they take the fat out they pack it with sugars and / or sweeteners like aspartame and you really dont want that.

well i tried a yogurt yesterday and managed two tea spoons but the texture and flavour just isn't for me, almost like porridge. i know some people enjoy them but they aren't for me. tho i am going to try it frozen and see if i like it better.

had bite size shredded wheat with a banana and milk from allowance
not had lunch yet mainly cause i can't decide what to eat and waiting on shopping being delivered

How is pointing out the healthier option negative?
