Mildredd - your like a machine!! Amazing - another stone (and a bit) off in this challenge! :j

If we're starting a new thread on the 30th then we'd better start a new challenge on w/c the 30th - no? :D

I'm a bit rubbish with dates (and i know ppl view the challenges differently) but I will weigh in on the 30th as my start weight and my end date for the challenge will be the 24th Feb - so that will be 8 weeks.. then it'll be another 8 week challenge till Easter!

oohhh now I've got to think of a number to lose

RFD - hope you've managed to stick your brain back together;) - I think you deserve a nice relaxing evening after the few days you've had!!

Well my shopping trip was awful.. too many people everywhere - although I did avoid the naughty sabotage lady handing out free chocolates at M&S!:T And according to my fitbit I walked 2.5 miles, so that's body magic isn't it? :rotfl:

lantana I jokingly said today at wi that I syn optimise well lol my consultant wasnt impressed and shot me down a bit, after I said if I want a Chinese or Indian or meal out I just save syns and she came back with all meals should be on plan. To which I said well for this to work long time for me n me to keep the weight off I need to have a normal life whether its takeaways or an odd choc bar? Then she stopped talking to me and moved on to someone else?

I use syns wisely and I try to eat 1/3 super free a day across a day that's about it really

But I have done the above and gained so who knows really lol
Started sw 02/09/13 - total loss so far -5st 1lb

Well if it works for you why on earth not!

My consultant is relaxed when it comes to having meals and whole days off in fact.

I generally do the same as you - have one or two naughty meals and then be very very careful the rest of the week.

Though I think I have gotten too lax with the rest of the week and that's why I am maintaining and not losing.

This had me shouting RUBBISH at my screen!! Granted it may not work for everyone or all the time but I've saved my syns for weekends ever since Day 1 and I've been at target for almost 2.5 years. I completely agree with you about making it work as a lifelong thing. Some people use apps like mfp but I prefer to use syns as a way of limiting 'bad' food to treat status and eating healthily all the rest of the time. Surely that's what food optimising really is, making the most of the good stuff and keeping a tight rein on the treats. I think they just want you to 'toe the party line' so they can make loads of money out of it.

I met her on Friday but I said Yes, please!:D

I'm sure you're right that people will get started at different times. Even though eric will open the thread on 30th, I can't see me starting properly until 2nd at the earliest and I think we'll have people joining on the following Monday when it's back to school/work time for most. Perhaps we can leave the joining date open and just have a target for 24th February?

Laughing at the idea of you in your lederhosen lantanna!:rotfl:
  • I got my stone award on Thursday :D

I've bought a tefal actifry and been using that the last few weeks so for the last 6 weeks I've lost 2lb each week :)

Today I've had porridge with golden syrup, a bbq chicken sandwich on little bread and a that shops own corner yoghurt :)

Got chicken casserole for tea which is all free :)

That's why I said w/c (as in week commencing) the 30th Dec, because I know everyone will weigh in on different days that week, but most of us will start that week I guess. That way it gives us 2 lots of 8 week challenges before or around Easter.

Any late comers are more than welcome to join in after we start, just as Arkers and RFD did.

I was just explaining the dates when I would be starting... :)

  • Maman - I know its rubbish and she often goes on about how often she eats out etc so it was a bit erm confusing to say the least? Think she didn't like it that in her game I knew the syn values of the items pretty much all of them within 0.5 syns ;)
I'm making this a lifelong commitment so that's how I have to do it? And while its working for me I'm going to carry on?
In 3 weeks where I genuinely worried how I'd manage I've lost 10.5lbs? Mainly due to people on here giving helpful hints and tips and meal ideas mostly just a random comment that makes me think oooh ill copy that?
This thread is so supportive and its down to all you wonderful girlies xxx

Catt and frogga I hope you two are playing nicely somewhere!!!

Count me in for the next one starting on the 30th so first week will be starting weights and the weight losses start the week after?

My birthday tomorrow and I've refused to go out for both dinner and tea must be ill or something! :o unheard of for me this

Ps my consultant isn't at target anymore so when the lovely target girlies here post I do listen :) my thinspirations!!! Xxx

Hello lovely ladies! It so nice to still see everyone here.

My computer packed in at the end of October, and would you believe this site is banned at work, so I have had no internet for well over a month and it has been hell! I've missed you guys.

I have been plodding along nicely and have lost 14.5 lbs in the last 5 weeks with only one week of a gain. I have relaxed a little building up to Christmas, but plan to go full guns again after the new year. Im content with how I am at the moment so Im not complaining.

I really hope everyone is doing well, I don't think I'll get chance to read back but now I have my laptop I will be on here daily again.

As I have said I have missed you all, it feels good to be back with my other WI group:j:j
