Mildredd, please don't stress! I know how much you hate putting on, but one day, let alone one meal, enjoyed to it's fullest is not going to undo all your weight loss.

I know it's easy for me to say because my hearts not in it at the moment, but anything you eat that day will be a temporary gain - much like every person in this country will have! Don't forget this is the long term - you can't get stressed everytime you have a meal out/birthday/christmas/celebration can you? Hope you take this in the way it's meant!

Oh And you're not a pig - I've eaten approx 24 mince pies in the last 2 days. Aswell as a pack of caramel chocolate digestives. Oh & a big mac meal with choc milkshake. Oh & a couple of marshmallows. Probably other stuff I've blanked out too...... :(

Just back from WI and shopping. Reasonably happy with 0.5lb off although had hoped for 1lb to get me bang on target, so hopefully next week! Would like to get nearer bottom end of target before I go away from Christmas and New Year to give me a bit of leeway.

Lunch has ended up as just buttered toast as have to go out again in 10 minutes to pick up DH from work, having got up at 5.30am to take him in so I could have the car to get to group and go shopping! It's a real pain only having one car.

I would like the recipe Tracy thanks I really don't bother about sweet stuff but, at Christmas time I love a mince pie. Thanks

Filo mince pie parcels - makes 24

    1 pack filo pastry (250g - 12 sheets) = (40 syns)
50g Anchor light butter, melted (14 syns)
    360g mincemeat (1 tbsp per parcel) - (48 syns)

Open filo pastry and use 1 sheet at a time and cover the rest with a clean damp tea towel otherwise the pastry will dry out.

Cut filo pastry sheet into 2, take 1 piece and brush with the melted butter and then cut this piece into 4 pieces, then place the 4 pieces on top of each other at slightly different angles. Place this butter side down in a muffin tin and put 1 tbsp of mincemeat in the bottom and then bring the sides up into the middle and pinch the top so it resembles a small purse. Repeat with the other half of the sheet of pastry.

Then get out another filo sheet and cover the rest and repeat as above until you have 24 mince pie parcels.

These can be cooked straight away at 200c for 5 minutes or you can freeze them and cook straight from frozen for 8 minutes. My oven is quite hot so you may need to cook for slightly longer, just keep an eye on them.

These work out as 4.5 syns each instead of 12 for a standard mince pie.

I made these for a taster morning at my group but made smaller mince pie parcels so I cut each filo sheet into 4 and then each quarter into 4 again so got 48 tiny parcels for the same ingredients and they only worked out as 2 syns each.

    Enjoy

Well done on all those losses, brilliant and really inspiring big and small. Funnily enough big losses make me feel WOW, little losses make me cheer cos I know the small ones are hard-earned sometimes and the people who sts or gain also inspire me - I feel if you can have low times and are still sticking with it, so can I. Sometimes I feel like giving up as I think I am hopeless at this but when I see some of you struggling, it really gives me strength to keep on keeping too!!

    Thank you all, fantastic thread!
