Thanks shala - hope your okay though?

Slightly mean of me but I've just realised my Xmas presents to some people are m&s shortbread n their on sw duh at me although they were doing sw last year n scoffed em n thanked me for them?

I'm starting to fret about Christmas food now :s
The actual roast dinner isn't that bad but we have it Xmas day n Boxing Day and then another turkey roast New Year's Day n the 2nd :/ and in between we normally have party food nibbles? Guess ill be having jacket spuds and pastas then :s
Don't see a way of not gaining well into the new year :(

No need to gain with all the roasts. Roast dinners are one of the best EE meals in my opinion - just load your plate with meat and veggies and only a few potatoes if they've not been cooked in Frylight but oil.

As for the inbetween days when it's nibbly food could you take some SW friendly food to eat - I'm sure others would also be happy to eat lots of it. Even when I wasn't doing SW I used to eat cold meats & salads rather than sausage rolls & mince pies!

Even if you want to eat the nibbly things you could always have flexidays and decide in advance how much of the high syn food you're going to eat and stop when you get to your chosen figure.

I was away on holiday last year for over a fortnight in France and even with eating lovely french bread every day I made sure most food I ate was SW friendly and only put on 1.5lb. So it is doable.

It's WI this morning and am having another EE day:

    B - banana - after WI
L - beans on toast; Mullerlight; fruit
D - steak, SW chips, onions, mushrooms, peas

HEA - milk in tea throughout the day
    HEB - toast
Syns - Fruit split lolly 3; not sure what else yet

Will pop back later and post after WI.

Blowing a hooley here in sheffield this morning. You know its pretty bad when someones garden furniture comes flying past the window . Mind i do live in an exposed area.

I have woken up worrying about my essays that needed to be handed in next week - one of which i have only just started and the other which i had nearly finished when i realised i had answered the question wrongly.:(. This means i am going to have to re-write the essay.Trying very hard not to panic about the essays , or the 2nd draft of the UCAS statement that needs to be in on the 14th dec for a tutor to check over.:eek:

I am praying to god that i dont go into serious panic mode because that will result in the stress coming out food wise ( ie as in eating lots of bread/cheese/chocolate etc etc).. It is easy to say well dont let that happen but sometimes i am reaching a "stress peak" i find a switch pings in my head , and i lose all self control until the stressful period is over. :( another factor that wont help is *week which is due next week..i already feel very tense just thinking about it now:eek:. I get so bad sometimes i find myself start pacing around and just lose control of all rational thoughts :(:(

anyway sorry for the moans - having an EE day

    B - Banana & magic porridge (hex b)
L - Thai green chicken curry - 6 syns (for the paste & also coconut milk - split into 3 portions ) . Has loads of veg in too - onions, mushrooms, green peppers & peas.
D - HM quorn cottage pie - filled with veggies & topped with carrot, parnips & sweet potato

snacks - options (2), milk used in tea/coffee, strawberry muller light with fresh strawberries in, and apple. Not using any more syns in case i have guessed wrongly for the coconut milk.

Hope everyone has a nice day

Sounds a massive workload rfd but definitely worth it in the end. Why not buy in loads of SW treats to nibble at? I particularly like tikka chicken pieces, cold sausages and cold new potatoes.

On the Christmas food, what I'm planning to do is buy in meals that are a bit more luxurious than normal weekday fare. So turkey and all the trimmings, cold meats pickles and salads on all the festive days. No problem getting those really SW friendly. In between we'll have things like steak or really nice fish or perhaps lamb as it's becoming a luxury!

    Back soon.

Blimey 12 syns for a mince pie and that is without the cream.

I made some mince pie parcels at the weekend using filo pastry and they were quite nice and only worked out as 4.5 syns each and you can freeze them and cook straight from frozen when you need them. Let me know if you want the recipe

    Tracey

I would like the recipe Tracy thanks I really don't bother about sweet stuff but, at Christmas time I love a mince pie. Thanks

Christmas I think will be syns on roasties and gravy?
Then we have mushy peas but my mum adds sugar so I may have to take over the mushy pea prep ;)
Then its stuff like apple sauce I normally have with turkey instead if cranberry, pigs in blankets? Just the pig will be syns? Stuffing?

Xmas morning we have tiger bread with strawberry jam and a brew
Think I need to sit n work out exactly how many syns ill have on Xmas day and if its way over 30/40 ill cut down on some bits

All conflicted with what to do as I genuinely look forward to Christmas dinner a ridiculous amount even now I'm going mmmm can't wait for Christmas lunch :( such a pig

Then Christmas Eve is a chippy tea but I'm gonna swap it for a Chinese meal instead of the usual Christmas Eve meal
Jam tarts are my pastry of choice - more syns

And roses have put the coffees back I loved them

Good luck to all weighing in tonight /today

I'm happy with roasties made with Frylight. I think it's because I'm basically a lazy cook and I find them so easy to make. I checked and Waitrose or Co-op apple sauce is only half a syn for a tbsp. I've done a bit of research into 'pigs'. Lowest syn chipolatas I can find are Asda at 1 syn for a 31g sausage. This compares with half a syn for my favourite 57g Sainsbury's ones so we'll be having fat pigs here!:rotfl:

Needed to rejig today's menu. I was going to make jumbalaya but short of rice so changed it to a chicken casserole. And having typed the above, it's going to be with roasties!

    EE menu:

B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, scrambled eggs, HEA milk
L: LO fried veg (mash, carrots, onions, broccoli, cauli, peas) plus mushrooms
D: chicken casserole (onion, leeks, mushrooms, carrots, butter beans) with SW roasties.
Syns: squirt of sauce, cornflour in casserole sauce

I'm just going to give myself Christmas Day off and enjoy myself foodwise. I'll be having Prawn Cocktail, Turkey Dinner (Roasties done in oil) with loads of veg, gravy and a few pigs in blankets!

I'll only have a spoonful of a desert and I'll not be having any chocolates as I'm not a sweet person.

I'm hoping I'll get out for good walks over the Christmas holidays to help reverse the damage!

Think I will upgrade to a few luxury SW friendly treats as well - for when temptation strikes and think I will also use the time off work to try out some new recipes :)

Only 11 working days left for me to go and I can say goodbye to my alarm clock until the 2nd of Jan !
