Are you all very adventurous with your meals or do you tend to stick to the same things? What is everybody's favourite sw friendly dinner?
Mine is Sweet chilli pork with egg fried rice and loads of onions and red peppers. I'm just looking for some inspiration. Thanks.

I do tend to stick to our usual meals albeit with a bit of alteration to make them SW friendly - like the cannelloni enchilada's we had tonight - although I do try a new recipe from the magazine/website every other week or so. Not sure I have a favourite!

I tend to stick to the same things - tho some of that is because I make a big pot of 'whatever' by throwing in lots of veg to bulk it out & I just eat it over 1-3 days until it is gone. Sometimes hubby or friend eats some so it lasts less time.

I have been known to have spag bol for brekkie (tho my brekkie is normally 10-11am).

  • Hi all,

It's roasting hot here, making me wheezy so I'm still up :( So.. I planned the meals up to next Sunday lol :)

Today (Sat) is the day of the BBQ.

B - magic musli with strawbs, apricot, maybe banana [HEB] Not tried this before, will see what I think
L - bacon, beans, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes. OH will have an egg I imagine
D - 2 x extra lean HM beef burgers, 2 buns @ 7.5 SYNs, onions in frylight, chicken kebabs, salad, HM slaw in 0% yog dressing. I can't think I'll want a pud after all that, but there's fruit salad if I do :)

SYNs = 15 for bread buns and 2 for sugar in my tea/coffee, which is where my HEA will go too. I realise I could have a wholemeal bun with my burger as a HEB instead of the porridge, but I'd rather use the SYNs and enjoy it to the full. I love w/meal bread, but its not burger fodder in my head! I've saved a couple up too in case I'm tempted into something I hadn't budgeted for.

Can anyone tell me what volume of 1% milk would constitute a HEA? I see semi is 250ml (1.7% fat) and skimmed is 375ml (0.1% fat), so I assume somewhere in the 300-325ml range? Also, how many SYNs for 100ml? (When I join on Wednesday, will there be a tool which allows me to work this out?) TIA :)

    Enjoy the weekend everybody :)

1% milk is 300ml. When you officially join you will be given a pack with a book in it which you take to group each week when you weigh and from the back 3/4s of it it list all your syns, the front part of the book breaks down superfree, free and healthy extras. You will also be given a pass number in which you can join up online to get a more comprehensive list of syns etc. Skimmed milk is now 350ml for HEA it changed when the books did in January. On average which ever milk you decide to have as HEA works out at 6 syns for the total amount (if having on top of hea). Divide those between the volume you are wanting. For instance 300ml of 1% is 6syns you want 100ml so it would be 2syns if that makes sense?

I havent so much fallen off the SW wagon these last few days........more jumped off feet first!!

    :o

    But back on plan today.

Normally I would think "wait till Monday and start again" so re-starting again today is actually a really big improvement for me.

    :D

    Milk in teas as HEA

B - loads of fruit, cherries, plums, nectarine

    L - 2 egg omelet with a sprinkle of cheese 5 syns

T - will be jacket potato, chicken, veg, maybe left over rice with 10g butter on potato 3.5 syns

Snack - del monte smoothie lolly 4 syns, have pineapple to use up too.

HEB will be a couple of crispbread or some bran flakes tonight in front of tv, when I feel like something munchy/crunchy.

I've logged into my fitness pal and will try to keep track of meals on this site for a change and see how I fair.... but I can't decide whether to have my headings for food (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) or whether to adopt the sw headings - free/superfree/healthy extras etc? what do you think would be best??

I find the heading for Free/superfree the easiest as I can see at a glance what balance I've had in any one day - same with HEx & syns :)

  • Today I had cockles for the first time in years. Apparently they are a SS free food. I remember liking them as a kid.

Don't like them now. Really quite horrible. Won't be doing that again in a hurry!
