Well since the last thread i seem to have got my losses back on an even keel. Working with the weight loss team through the GP and now monitoring every morsel i eat with Myfitnesspal everything seems to be going in the right direction at last.
Previously my losses were a max of 2lb a week but averaging 0.5-1lb im now up to 3lb with half a stone gone in 3 weeks. Still around 1.5stone away from target but happier that with a few tweeks im losing consistently again:j
As many of the long term residents here know my son is also a member of SW and up to now has lost 4.5stone. Been struggling since we went on holiday in April as he had a total blow out not watching syns at all and gained 7lb over 2 weeks. Since then he has found it difficult to get back in the zone so had a heart to heart tonight about how deflated he was when he had an unwarranted gain - different consultant as stand in different room different scales but this was enough to tip him off the scales and to wreck his head into thinking like many of us do whats the point if im doing it properly i get a gain
So Roll on thursday evening for WI and more loss updates.
Good to see you stef, I'd been wondering how you were. Sounds like myfitnesspal is working well for you. Are you still using it alongside a SW based plan?
Sorry to hear your boy's lost his mojo a bit as he was doing so well. Unwarranted/unexplained gains are the worst. I can live with gaining on a holiday blowout but when you're 'good' you expect it to show on the scales. Sometimes it doesn't happen straight away though.
WI for me tomorrow too. I'll be happy if I'm still in target range after my holiday. I've been sticking to the plan really well since Monday. Main downfall was Sunday when I started on the wine syns with Andy at 2 o'clock. That weakened my resolve so I ate crackling off the roast.:o. We'll see what the scales say tomorrow.0 -
Maman- Yes still religiously sticking to SW. I found that if i followed some of the meal plans like having a fry up for brekkie, something with bread for lunch and then a heavy meal for tea the calorie intake was far too high, much more than myfitnesspal was saying i would need in order to lose weight. So having lighter meals for the first two with something heavier for the evening meal to help cut back on snacking too seems to be helping. Should i fancy a heavier breakfast i also reign in the syns for that day so i can try and keep everything within a limit.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

I know it'll be different for everyone, but how much weight did you all lose before you went down a dress size?
Fruit salad & yoghurt for brekkie. I'm getting quite addicted to that in this heat!

doinkthemonkee ~dont beat yourself up about one slice of pizza.
Life is way too short.
oh I was just having a really down day is all. According to their menus the slice of pizza should have been 125cals (or about). So I thought I was safe having a slice but really shocked when the book told me 12 syns!
But I stayed on tracked and had all my normal food inc my HEA & HEB & even my hot choc (2) at night.
I was just feeling crappy because I seem not to be losing (tho I haven't weighed myself in a while because I get obsessive about it). My clothes don't feel any looser.
And then there is a friend of mine on it - last night she posted on FB that she has lost over half stone in 2 weeks on SW & it just got to me a little.
oh well, every day is a step in the right direction & at least I seem not to be putting on weight at the mo either.when life gives you lemons, stick them in your top & pretend you have pointy boobs.

That sounds really good stef. I really think SW needs a boost sometimes although it's basically a very good plan. I find that the habit of limiting really high syn foods and eating plenty of SFs and lean meats helps me eat healthily regardless of the weightloss benefits.
skintcatt, I honestly don't remember when I started dropping sizes. I know to begin with it was more about the clothes I was wearing fitting me properly. I was definitely wearing things that were too small rather than admit to being the next size up. I find wearing the same pair of trousers to WI every week helped. Eventually they were falling off!:rotfl:When I was dropping sizes I bought a lot from charity shops and that gave me a chance to experiment with colours too. I still have clothes from a size 10 to a 14 depending on the style/brand/fabric.
WI for me today and I'm now 2.5lbs heavier than before my holiday 3 weeks ago. I'm still within target range so I'm happy:). I'm going to do my plan and shopping list as usual but at least I know that if an unexpected meal/drink out crops up I have some leeway.0 -

Hi Stef (and everyone) :hello:
Great news that you're still doing well - how much have you lost in total now? Sorry to hear your son is disheartened but it does sound like it's the scales; if he can keep it together until next WI I'm sure it'll show
I haven't been posting much as am having a bit of a change from SW and trying something different as I wasn't losing consistently either, but I tend to find I still pretty much cook and eat in a similar way anyway - still use frylight and half fat cheese, have berries and weetabix for breakfast and have veg with pretty much every meal - it must be pretty well ingrained in me I think! Lost 6.5lb over the last 3 weeks and still have just over a stone to fat club target (although tbh will probably want to lose another half to a stone after hols) - just glad it's shifting again! Good to 'see' you anywaySkint_Catt wrote: »I know it'll be different for everyone, but how much weight did you all lose before you went down a dress size?

I've always heard it said that 10lbs = a dress size but have never found that. Personally I think the less you weigh the less it takes, i.e. when I started it took about 2 stone for me to get into jeans a size down, but over the last 3 weeks, half a stone loss has resulted in a jeans size drop too, so if you're just starting it may take longer (which is frustrating if that is the case but hang in there- fitting into smaller clothes is the best feeling!)

WI today and a 2lb loss, pleased with that just 5lb to target, although I think I need to be lower than that. I'll see how I feel when I get there.
Welcome PG, hope you're enjoying your first few days of SW eating.0 -

Yep, this is basically what I've found - I'm still eating pretty much SW meals (with a number of tweaks) but sometimes you just need to shake things up a bit, especially if you've been doing it for a while.2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

STS this week but I have the dreaded * coming up so maybe thats why. Going to be extra good this week to make sure the affects dont carry on to next WI
B - white coffee (hea), chewy delight (heb)
l - ham salad, melon, grapes
d - pasta, tomato, sweetcorn and beans salad.0 -
Thanks all - a lot of my clothes which were straining at the seams are now quite loose on me (12lbs down) but I'm so looking forward to getting back into most of the stuff in my wardrobe at all!
I've got boxes in the loft recently sorted into 18, 16, 14 & even 12 (the first time I ever did SW!) - so looking forward to emptying those boxes down the ladder& this time I'm getting rid of anything that is too big (except one pair of jeans for reminder purposes!) so that I can't 'grow' back into them!
I found a lovely local little charity shop which I think I'll be frequenting things for my DD & I & they can have anything good enough for them to sell as I slim out of them
