Our group always has a meeting on bank holidays (except if it's Christmas Day), don't know if it's all groups but think you would have been told if there wasn't a meeting.
You could always phone or text your consultant to ask.

Having quite a good food day today;
B - starbucks medium skinny coffee frappacinno (6), grapes
L - Ham salad
D - not sure yet but I have some BBQ baked beans to use up!
I have bit of a dilema. I am really hot in a stuffy office and I have a code for a free iced drink at caffe Nero that I could use on the way home. However the skinny version of this still comes in at 10 sysns! which would take me 1 syn over my allowance. I know it is naughty but I really fancy it plus I dont feel very MSE if I dont use my freebie!0 -
Hello everyone
I'm PG, a usually lurk over on OS. My GP has given me slimming on prescription, and I've chosen SW over WW, joined up today and waiting for my voucher to come out over the next week. Apparently if I lose 5% in the next 12 weeks I get another 12 weeks paid forA friend who already does SW is dropping her books off tonight for me to have a look at and make a head start.
I've done WW on and off over the years, since my mum made me join at 18 as I put 5 lb on when I got a job :S. TBH I think that's what's given me a lot of hang up about foods and feeling guilty when I eat anything that isn't a salad! I have decided that alcohol is my biggest weakness, and have made the drastic yet considered decision to cut it out entirely for as long as I can to give myself a head start. I know SW will allow me to syn treats like a glass of wine, but I think I'll start hardcore
I piled on 5 stone when my 4 bottom discs went, and I really need to get it off (the extra weight doesn't help the discs, its a nasty cycle). I've been in and out of hospital with my asthma these last 3 months, and I've gotten fed up of feeling like I'm not in control of my life. So, I've decided the biggest thing I can do for myself (aside from religiously following my medication) is get generally lighter and fitter, putting less stress on my body - and here we are!
Obviously 5/6 stone is a long journey, so my initial goal is 5%, or 11lb over the next 12 weeks. If I lose more quickly than that I'll be delighted, but I'm in it for the long haul, and want to get to my goal weight sensibly and healthily. My OH will be joining in, but not attending meetings, he's 100% behind me (awww)
So... Once I've had a look through the books this evening I'll be back to post my planned menu for tomorrow and ask your collective advice!
Good luck everyone, and thanks for reading

Hi PG! I've got 6.5 stone to lose & I've lost 12lbs over the last 5 weeks so it's definately do-able! Stock up on lots of salad, veg & fruit & you'll be fine

Welcome PG, that 5% is very doable and you're starting at the best time. Melon and strawberries are what we call SS (Superspeed for weightloss) foods on SW and they're cheap and plentiful at the moment.
Wine syns are my faves too:o. There is a giving up/cutting down alcohol thread if you need any help there.
Look forward to seeing your menu plans.0 -
Hi PG and welcome to the group. I have found it invaluable- even just reading and not posting will give you a lot of advice and support. I agree about alcohol and I also found it is easier to just go cold turkey- I have no willpower ( for foodor drimk) once I have had one drink!
I am REALLY hungry today and can't understand why! I have had plenty to eat, ate my dinner an hour ago followed by a free yoghurt and I am STILL hungry, lol. Off to make some peppermint tea.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
Welcome PG to our lovely thread.
Your initial goal seems very doable.

Hi all,
So I've had a lookie through the book my friend has lent me, and propose the following for tomorrow's meals:
B - 2 small slices of w/meal bread with a banana on top [HEB]
L - lean ham salad with some boiled potatoes and a bit of dressing made with olive oil and vinegar SYN 2
D - frittata made with some of the spuds I will have boiled for lunch, onions, orange pepper, mushroom, sliced tomato and some grated cheese [HEA] served with salad SYN 2 for the olive oil to cook things in.
Pud - l/f greek yoghurt with honey SYN 1 for the yog and 2.5 SYNs for the honey
Other: 2.5 SYNS for 100ml of milk and 2 SYNS for 2 tsps of sugar in my tea and coffee
Snacks will be based around some galia melon and grapes so should be free.
Total SYNS: 12.5
Does that seem reasonable?
Also, I'm going to a BBQ on Saturday with the same friend (we'll call her L) who lent me the books. Having had a read through, BBQ staples seem horrendously high in SYNs, so we had a chat on the phone. If I form extra lean mince from the butcher into burgers myself those are still free on EE right?
The plan would be for L to make some chicken kebab things, and I'll make some extra lean burgers (the boys can have the usual). If I fry up some onions in fry light they'd be free, and we'd just be counting 7.5 SYNS for a burger bun and some condiments? Obviously with a heaping of salad and coleslaw in FF yog dressing on the side
How does everyone cope with BBQs?

Hi PG
I posted this the other day so if you want to save yourself the trouble of making HM burgers these are low syn. Also in Sainsbury's the Be Good to Yourself Extra Lean Pork Cumberland Sausages, 8 pack, chilled, 57g each are only half a syn each. Chicken is good, but don't eat the skin. Almost any salads and jackets or new potatoes will be fine but be careful with dressings and sauces. Personally I wouldn't bother with the burger bun as I find them bland but you could have a wholemeal roll as a HEB.
Your menu for tomorrow looks fine. All I'd say is make sure you do measure the oil and cheese. When you get to do a shop, Total 0% Greek yogurt is free and buy yourself a can of frylight. I find the easiest way to do onions is to chop/slice then cook with a tbsp. of water in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Drain, then fry in plenty of frylight. They're already softened so all they need is to be browned to your liking.
Great that you have your friend L as a buddy and you've got us!:)0 -
