Hi rfd, good to see you back.
Ainsley stuff is 7 syns for bulgar wheat and 3 for the quinoa both for 150g box.
I don't eat much fruit, mainly because I'm lazy. I manage Satsumas and bananas, strawberries and raspberries when in season (find imported ones tasteless) and I will cut up an apple occasionally.
Mostly, I'm like maddy's friend and I eat mostly what I've always eaten but adapted for SW (Frylight is my friend). So almost all my SFs come from veg. I cook loads and many of my lunches are LOs from the previous night's supper.
Thanks Maman. How are you doing? The syns are not too bad if eating half a pack at a time. Not tried bulgar wheat before but have heard its nice. Planned to bulk it out with mushrooms, and some chicken.
Quinoa is my new favourite food - last week i had it with a piece of salmon, baby bell peppers, onions and chanteray carrots. Really delicious and filling.

Thank you for your lovely welcome:j. So todays menu...I will leave off the abbreviations until I get my head around HEa b etc; bear with me.
B: 2x wbix (skimmed milk)
snack: 1 x banana
L: HM butternut squash soup, Crisp breads and cottage cheese.Chicken with SW chips and beans.
Other fruit and FF yog. I need advice about what is free re yogs as the shape ones used to be, but now I'm not so sure.
Sad but Chicken/chips/beans are a fav.
Mantra "stay off the wine!"
Abbreviations is easy!;) I always think HEB for bread and take it from there.
I'd say you need to call today a Green day as on green you're allowed 2 HEBs and 2 HEAs (on extra Easy only one of each).
My reasoning is that you've already had 2 HEBs (Weetabix and crispbread) and one HEA (350 mls of skimmed milk) and you're very low on superfrees (just what's in your soup as beans don't count for EE). On Green the SFs aren't so important although I think the more you have the better. You'll have to syn the chicken (allow 5.5 for an average chicken leg).
So, that means you're pretty much on plan for a Green day:T. I'm not sure which crispbreads you had. 4 Ryvita originals are a HEB but others vary.

Thank you Maman - the soup is just Butternut squash, onion, garlic, ginger and chillies. I batch cook in the pressure cooker and I also add fat free natural yog to taste. Tje cripbreads are Al?i special. :rotfl:0 -

Depends on the sausage!!
45g (4), 57g (5), 27g (3) and 23g (2.5)
I don't know about HM bread but basic white is about 3 a slice I think but not sure.
Thanks Maman, I counted 3 for the white bread.
The sausages were thickish ones certainly not thin, anyway I:D used 2 for Hex B would that be ok or should I syn them as well?0 -
Has anyone tried the chick pea dahl loaf? My friend wanted to try it and between us we decided she could try making them into balls like onion bahjis and add onion to the recipe too. She bought them into work and they were sooo lush. she ended up putting them into muffin cases and baking them like that as the mixture was too wet to handle.
They are not exactly onion bahjis obviously but they are Indian snack-ish and will certainly help me have an Indian takeaway without falling off the wagon. We are going to try them again and add a few more spices too.
And did i mention they are free!!!!!!
I love the chick pea dahl loaf. I put the mixture in a loaf tin to cook and then slice into wedges. It also freezes really well.MaddyWaddy wrote: »rainbowfairydust
A good friend of mine told me she has her normal meals but just makes them sw friendly .... She has really helped me get to grips with knowing what is going wrong and for the last 2 weeks whilst I haven't been completely sw friendly I have made more of an effort to know what is coming and have some back up plans in place for when I get home late due to traffic
One of the reasons that I seem to be sticking to SW this time is I thought about the meals I really enjoy and then just tweak the recipes to make them slimming world friendly. So obviously replacing fat/oil with frylight, using lean meat, eating more vegetables/salad. Our family favourites are chilli with rice, spaghetti Bolognese, sausage casserole, beef stew, jacket potatoes and roast dinners etc especially now the evenings are getting colder.
