Does porridge HAVE to be Oatso Simple? You could buy a big bag of plain oats for much cheaper & a 35g portion of plain oats is a Healthy Extra B choice - you could mix with a fat free yoghurt the night before you eat it to make 'magic' porridge!
(or Aldi's Mornflakes Oats 2 Go are a HEb choice too)
no it doesnt but i dont have the time in the morning to stand, and make porridge so prefer the pots that you can pour water into. As for Aldi the nearest one to me WAS 10 miles away but there is an Aldi superstore opening on the 19th November which is actually on the way home so i will certainly be paying a visit when it opens.
What is magic porridge?

@rainbowfairydust.. i'm not a big fruit eater.. have a banana every morn with my brekkie (2 Weetabix for HEB) that's about it these days.. I was eating loads of fruit at one stage.. packs of pineapple, blueberries and strawberries.. spent a fortune!.. and its funny that since I went back to just the banana after my hols my weight loss kicked in again.. prior to hol I was maintaining, gaining, small loss here and there then back on!
probably the sugar content..I know its natural but its still sugar. I prefer to have either a banana in my porridge like you with some berries in or just a fruit snack (just one) elsewhere in the day. I just dont want to feel like i MUST eat it everyday to make up the 1/3 superfree.

I like frozen blueberries in my porridge so get them when space in the freezer allows it as far cheaper than fresh.. apples are boring and cant be bothered peeling oranges.. do like nectarines but the pesky things are like cricket balls for days but then go to mush almost over nightdaren't mention my thoughts on the possible connection with less fruit and recent losses in group as consultant pooh pooh's that.. if its free you can eat all you like!
magic porridge is mixing the oats with a muller light and leaving in the fridge over night.. tried it recently and was disappointed, too sweet for me (I used a vanilla yog) plenty love it tho0 -

hmm this sounds yummy. I bet you can put fresh fruit in as well. This sounds worth a try.
Not sure if anyone has seen this or not but came across this article not too long ago, and thought it was interesting (shame it was in the fail)

A good friend of mine told me she has her normal meals but just makes them sw friendly .... She has really helped me get to grips with knowing what is going wrong and for the last 2 weeks whilst I haven't been completely sw friendly I have made more of an effort to know what is coming and have some back up plans in place for when I get home late due to traffic
It is easy to give up when you don't see the results as fast as you hope but it does create healthier habits ... well done on all the fruit ... I'm not a fan of it but trying to make it a daily habitSW member: 09/01/2014

I think having a back up plan is important as well, and also being prepared. It doesnt help that with work & uni i am pretty stretched for time (in fact i was thinking to myself this morning i wished there were more hours in the day).

Hi rfd, good to see you back.
Ainsley stuff is 7 syns for bulgar wheat and 3 for the quinoa both for 150g box.
I don't eat much fruit, mainly because I'm lazy. I manage Satsumas and bananas, strawberries and raspberries when in season (find imported ones tasteless) and I will cut up an apple occasionally.
Mostly, I'm like maddy's friend and I eat mostly what I've always eaten but adapted for SW (Frylight is my friend). So almost all my SFs come from veg. I cook loads and many of my lunches are LOs from the previous night's supper.0 -
