    Morning All,

Sorry I've not been about - life has rather gotten in the way at the minute and I've had a few stressful events to deal with over the last week or so.

I have missed being on here and reading all your posts! Anyway Chin up here its Monday and a new week and all that.

Shala sorry to hear your news & Beanie Lou hugs to you too.

Mrs Ryan - I feel exactly the same way. I went out a month ago to get something for a night out and nothing looked right on me. I have fairly seen a change though in the 10 lbs I've dropped recently. However I seem to have a lot of back fat that I haven't noticed before. I suppose it all comes off you in different places etc.

My eating went to pot over the weekend. Friday night I had a Chinese, I had too much bread all weekend and yesterday I had a Sunday dinner (not made SW style). But sure I'll do what I always do and be good from now until thurs and hope that I can claw it back!!

Haven't been out walking either as the weather has been so bad.

Going to buy a kettlebell and have recorded an Kettlebell class off the Fitness challenge so going to give that a go on these dark nights.

Good luck to all today - keep plodding :) :T

Oh for the Christmas Challenge I am going to set an ambitious 18 lbs.

Very ambitious I know but this would see me get my 5 stone award which I would love for Christmas.

Trying the Scan Bran this morning - will let you know how that goes.

Hello may I join your Christmas countdown ? I joined SW on 30/3/13 after my trouser button popped off while on the flight home from my hols and have so far lost 2st 11lb. I need 1st 1lb to hit my target but will be sabotaging myself with a two week holiday in florida in November. I have been a serial lurker but have decided to stick my toes in the water. Queengoth

    Morning all!

Just been catching up from over the weekend as didnt have time to read.
Hugs to all those that need them and well done everyone at the end of the last challenge. Everyone did sooo well.

I would like to join in the pudding challenge please - as its 8 weeks I will set myself a target of 8lbs loss.

    Tips:
    1. Let yourself have a treat every day. I think none of my previous diet attempts have worked as i have tried to ban chocolate - and then i fail. So I am allowing myself chocolate everyday.
    2. Plan - its harder to fall off the wagon. I spend Sunday in the kitchen batch cooking soups , roasted veg etc for the week ahead.
    3. Dont give up - we all fall off the wagon sometimes, just get straight back on.

Yesterday I made SW pumpkin soup and butternut squash soup, and SW sticky chicken so i'm organised for lunches all week in work and a couple of days' dinner too.

I didnt have a great weekend - Friday was a wedding evening reception with buffet:o. Saturday night OH went out, ordered an Indian and even though I said dont get me anything he got me chicken tandoori. I cant waste food so i ate half of it, but had bachelors rice with it and NO BAHJI's (unheard of)-the cats ate the rest!

    Today's meal plan
B: ML yoghurt, banana, hifi light bar
    L: pumpkin soup
    D:sticky chicken and rice
Snacks ; berries, grapes, tea, NAS squash, 4 sq chcolate, hifi rocky road.
    9 syns

    Have a good day all

    Morning folks,

Sorry to hear your sad news Shala, sending hugs

Welcome Easyas and FireEmber. Easyas - I would agree and say you're definitely not eating enough full stop, but also not getting enough veg or protein. I find the easiest, most satisfying lunches (and teas for that matter) are leftovers - just make double on a day when you have time and then you can chill or freeze extra portions and just throw it in the microwave when time is short. I do this with most things- pasta, stir fry, risotto, curry, paella etc. Soup is another good one to make, maybe at the weekend, then you hot something hot and filling to have at work and it will have plenty of superfree in too :)

    Hi all
Thanks Maman- the chilli is because we have to use the Everyday Value mince. The lean mince is too expensive for us to afford which is where the syns are coming from :(

Do you have an Asda nearby? (others may do it but this is where I go) They do frozen soya mince, 2 bags for £3, which is syn free and I love it! It has a much better flavour and texture than Quorn and is cheaper, plus unlike real mince you don't have to use the lot, you can just add however much you need from the bag and it cooks in a couple of mins. I think I use about half a bag, max, when doing double portions for me and OH, so would get 8 portions from a bag, more if you bulk it out even more with veg/pulses :) Have also occasionally got whoopsied EL mince from Asda but it isn't much cheaper, £3 instead of £4 or something but could be worth looking out for, especially if you shop in the evening.

as for sizing I'm about an 18 in jeans I think which seems to be fairly standard across the board but my tops range from an 18 to a 12! I never realised how frustrating it is because when I was bigger I was just a 22 on top and 24 on the bottom- end of!

I agree with Maman, clothes sizes are crazy. I'm a 12-14 in tops and today am wearing a 14 jumper which is a bit loose, and over the top of it a cardi form my fattest days which is a 22 - looks too big but not ridiculously big- not sure how that works!

Weather horrendous today and wasn't feeling brilliant this morning so no bike for me today. Planning to go to fat club to help out but will have to see how I feel, headache and general mehness threatening to derail any plans at the moment! :( Hope everyone else is having a better Monday morning!

It's a horrible day here - raining and chilly and it makes me want to eat some warming winter stooge!

I'd like to signup for the Pudding Challenge please. I'm going to go for 7 pounds please, so I could earn a half stone award.
I don't think I'm likely to lose any quicker than that to be honest, but if I do I'll be thrilled.

Can I ask a quick question about cheese sins? All the cheeses I have on the HEA list are 28g for a HEA (except Feta, Mozarella and reduced fat cheddar). Can I assume that other cheeses that are not listed, for example stilton, camembert, follow the same rule or is it just those cheeses on the list that count for HEA and I must syn others?
    Thanks
    Trying to keep in budget.

Hi gien. I'm pretty sure it means that if it's not listed then it doesn't count as a HEA. Good news it that you're now allowed 30g of cheddar etc, 40g of low fat and 45g:eek:of feta. Just ask if you want to know any syn values. Camembert, for example is 3.5 syns for 25g.

Great to see so many of you signing up for the next challenge. all.

Skint-catt, I've been thinking about your food yesterday. I'm sure you realise that as courgettes were the only SFs you had that it wouldn't count as an EE day. You may get away with it as a generally low calorie day but I'd suggest you count it as Green and syn the chicken. Perhaps when you go shopping you could buy in some frozen/canned SFs to fall back on when times are hard.

    My EE day:
B: NAS squash, HEB porage, HEA milk
    L: LO casserole (meat free:rotfl:)
D: baked haddock, new potatoes, cauli&broccoli
Syns: squirt of syrup, cheese sauce

shala, I'm going for 'maintain target weight' for the challenge. I'll find out on Thursday where I am in the range and take it from there.

Keep telling yourself, they're cheap, nasty junk food. Fat people buy them. They're full of sugar and fat. You only eat healthy food. Remember???
