Eleanorf Please don't stress too much, if it went on that quickly, in my experience it will come off quickly too. I have often put on half a stone after a weeks bingeing, but it isn't 'real weight'. It's often just 'volume of food' inside me. Hope that make sense? Once you've had a big poo it will all be gone. Morning Folks :D

We're so nearly at the end of the challenge  Only one full day left now :j

We need to start posting our totals. I think we should all be equally proud, wether we've lost 1 lb or 1 stone, it's all good :D And if you havn't lost any, or even gained, well, that just means everyone else will have to be better at motivating you. We are all in this together ;)

BTW the 'Christmas Pudding or Christmas Cracker Challenge' will run from Monday 28th October to Friday 20th December. That is exactly 8 weeks before we break up for Christmas. Shala, is it asking too much of you to do the record keeping again? You've done such a brilliant job keeping track of us all. If you'd rather not maybe someone else could take a turn? Can't be me though, I'm a bit of a thickie with that sort of thing?

Once we get all the results in for the end of this challenge, we can declare our interest, and state our goals. God I'm a bossy Frog, have you heard me?

Is this a general slimming world support thread?

If so, can I ask for some advice (this might be a little long, so please feel free to skip to the end):

I've been doing slimming world for about 12 weeks now (give or take). I've got a lot to lose - I want to drop about half my body weight (10 stone give or take a couple of pounds). I know that's a long term thing, but I want to get my club 10 by Christmas if possible. 12 lb to go.

It's going really well and works for me. I've learnt that I need to cut out dairy and bread. Then I seem to lose weight. But I've recently been slowing down on my weight loss. I went to see the Nurse, and she asked the Dr to put me on Orlistat. This is supposed to have really bad side effects, but so far, nothing. I even had a pack of sausages just to see what would happen, and other than a small amount of really smelly gas (sorry for the TMI ) , nothing changed.

I've had a loss every week so far - which is great, but last week it was a piddly half a pound, and I only got that because I took my belt off/emptied my pockets and weighed again. I've lost 16lb so far, which is really great, but I'm struggling now.

Here's my question - could this be because I don't eat enough? That's what my mum thinks.

I tend to have fruit (normally a banana, and apple or two, and a nectarine/plum or two, sometimes more, sometimes less), sometimes with a Muller light, during the day, then chicken or ham with potatoes for dinner. I'm not hungry, and if I am then I eat more.

I know I tend to be really dehydrated. I drink maybe 500ml of water/sugar free squash/black tea or coffee a day at work - I never seem to have the time to get up from my desk and drink more.

It's hard eating at work. We're really busy and I work really stupid hours. I'm working 7am to 3pm as a standard, but when we have events on (like now) I'm doing 7 to 5 regularly. I've accrued 20 hours of flexi in the last month.

If anyone has any lunch suggestions for me, I’d gratefully receive them. problems with lunch are why I just grab fruit.

I have access to a microwave, but not a lot of time to cook. I took a potato with me last week, and couldn't spare the time to cook it. There's a fridge, but I tend to put stuff in the fridge then not eat it.

What I really need is a 5 day plan, that:
I can prepare in tubs on a Sunday to grab in the mornings. So, stuff that lasts 5 days,
No bread, and limited dairy (cottage cheese, or extra light triangles, or quark at a pinch),
    That I can eat cold,
and that can sit on my desk for 5 hours in a cool bag.

Oh, and no microwave at home, it died and I've not had time to replace it.

Thanks for any advice, and if I've posted in the wrong place, please tell me to bogoff. I would ask my consultant, but she's really happy and lovely, but always really busy and it seems wrong to complain when I'm getting losses.

    Hi all..

Sad news for me today - my nanny died earlier :( she has been poorly for a while, I think old age just finally caught up. Hope she is now at peace..

Frogga - I certainly will keep the scores on the doors, as it were. I'm going to go against convention and even join in this time.

TIE - hope your mom is on the mend xx

I shall be back on the wagon as of Monday.. I will spend some time tomorrow putting together a meal plan and I will be sticking to it come what may.

My one big tip for myself (and anyone else that it could help) - Stop stuffing your face with cr*p!

Don't be put off asking your consultant for ideas - it's what you pay for - she may also thank you as it will give her a discussion topic for the group.

    So ideas -

Rice pilaf - make this at the weekend and freeze in portions then just take out on the day you want it

pasta salad - make one day and it should last a few days in the fridge

frittata/Spanish omelette - this would last a few days in the fridge - has anyone ever frozen it?

mug shotz - not for me but some people like them! just add hot water.

cous cous salad - i'm sure this would freeze as easily as rice, or take a packet to work and add water if you wanted to eat it hot

ermm i'm out of ideas now...
