    Hello all,

Well done to the losers, especially those who are doing so well in the challenge - even the 0.5lbs all add up :)

Hugs to those who are struggling, food wise or otherwise - hope everyone's stresses reduce soon.

Mildredd - just hunted down and watched a bit of that kids' program, made me lol - "Blodwen, shake your fluffy stuff" :rotfl:

Catt - the "wanting to lose weight but still eat nice food" thing was what led me to trying a new approach. Of course, there's plenty of lovely food you can eat on SW but it's easy to get diet fatigue, especially when you've been on it a long time, plus I did strop a bit about slim people who seem to eat what they want  Have you tried changing around what you eat? I don't know whether you have the same sorts of things most of the time but a bit more variety might help.

Saying that, I find the novelty of being able to have what you want does wear off a bit anyway. As I've said before, I'm tending to have mainly healthy food whether it be SW friendly or not. Today's menu is looking like:
B: Nimble toast with chicken and bacon spread
L: Going to the canteen with OH so could be anything but I'm thinking probably a JP with beans and maybe a bit of cheese
T: Egg, chips and beans, pitta bread
    S: Couple of hob nobs

If anyone's interested in this recipe I made a really nice tuna (steak) and prawn curry the other day - saw someone mention using tuna in a curry and remembered I had a few steaks in the freezer and am not too keen on them plain. Fried a chopped onion, 2 chopped peppers and garlic then added a tin of tomatoes and a bit each of curry powder, garam masala and tandoori spice (just because I had them all on the shelf!). In a separate pan I gently fried the tuna (cut into chunks) then added it to the curry with a tin of chick peas and a few cooked prawns, warmed through and threw in a bit of leftover low fat creme fraiche. As I said, I'm not mad on the flavour of tuna steaks but you couldn't really taste it in this, just added some meatiness and the chick peas bulked it out quite a lot. Had the second half last night and it was even nicer after a night in the fridge.

Anyway, better get on with some work! Happy Friday all :)

Am doing a Green day today so the lack of SFs isn't such a problem with "no one third rule/suggestion"!

B - magic porridge (HEB) with Mullerlight vanilla and choc sprinkles and a banana
L - 2 Ryvita (0.5 HEB) butter (3.5 syns), half fat cheese (HEA), tomato
    D - Kedgeree [smoked haddock (0.5 HEB)]

Will have a couple of glasses of red tonight so will be 0.5 over syns for today but as I do my syns over the week that's not a problem, can pull back easily enough.

    Denise[/QUOTE]

Have decided I don't need the butter on the Ryvita because I'm having cheese so will save 3.5 syns there which means I'll be under syns for the day so a few less to pull back during the week (my syns ended up at 21.5 yesterday:eek: so need to pull a few back!

Sorry to hear you've had sad news beanie. You're quite right about live for the moment but it's also good to know we're eating healthily. That's a plus.:)

Cake was nice mildredd, a piece of Lidl's stollen. But I did manage to get icing sugar all down the black top I was wearing.:rotfl:

Lovely NSV today: I was in Sainsbury's (buying my half syn sausages!) and met a woman from SW, didn't know she worked in there. I checked how she'd done at WI and she'd lost so said well done. Then said as I'd missed myself so relying on my jeans to tell me how I did. Looked down at my jeans (as you do;)) and she said how great I looked.:D What a nice lady! Actually they're Sainsbury's jeans and I'm delighted with them, had my moneys worth already. Today I got a black pair as I'm so pleased with the blue ones.

    EE today:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB Shreddies, HEA milk
L: not hungry yet so maybe just fruit
D: SW burger, SW chips/wedges, fried onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, peas
Syns: squirt of sauce on burger, weekend wine!:j

Lovely pic of Rebecca in the cardi, nessie. Reminded me of when I first took DD1 out in her pram. I needed L plates!:rotfl:Enjoy your weekend away denise and the wedding lindens.

For those finding SW expensive, I bought frozen mushrooms in Farmfoods today. 2 x 500g bags for £1. They'll be brilliant for casseroles and sauces, already cleaned and prepped so saving time as well as money! I love FF for frozen veg, leeks are great value too. Grapes were £2 per kg in there too.

Hi everyone and congratulations to those who have lost and commiserations and hugs to those who haven't.
I weighed in Wed and was gutted to find I'd gained 31/2 pounds (yes half of half a stone!) I knew I'd gone off plan a bit in the last week, but I don't understand how it could have affected my weight that much. If I'd known I was going to gain that much I would have enjoyed it more! However, I am now back on plan and weighing and measuring everything, even skimmed milk, so hopefully next week I'll be a loser.
    Meals for today
B: quinoa porridge (1/2syn for milk) muller light yogurt, pineapple
    Snack: banana and apple
L:went out to lunch with a friend and had mushroom risotto, counted 12 syns for oil, wine etc in it, diet coke
T: OH is cooking me something with prawns. He does a mean stir fry with water instead of oil, so hopefully will be syn free.
Still have my HEB to go so if hungry I'll have crisp breads and cottage cheese, if not I'll count oil as my HEB and save syns.
Onward and downward! (Weight wise that is)
