Thanks Skint Catt I did not know that you had to have them before the meal and I will try this the rest of the week. A stone seems so easy but it is oh so hard when I lose soooo slow.

I find one of the things that works for me is that when I have a Mug shot for lunch I put the water in and as it takes so long to 'cook' I eat an apple and pear while i'm waiting, that way I can kerb the hunger while I'm waiting and get some superfree in without it being a chore at the end of the meal.

    Morning all

Frogga well done at keeping the toad away while being so busy and stressed although I think Catts got the toad in a cuddle grip x

I sometimes struggle with super frees as I don't seem to like very much - bit of a fussy eater really but I do try to eat my super free before a meal especially if its fruit?normally while my foods cooking - it used to be a couple of Pringles or those oddities munched so just a food switch really - then if still hungry ill eat more fruit after dinner
I've found sw just a change of habits really

Today's menu - I'm going to consciously try and drink more nas squash today? Kidneys feeling a bit achy after being ill and not having very much this week

    Breakfast - banana and grapes
Lunch - not sure yet - maybe a ploughmans type lunch - ham 1/2 cheese (1/2hexa) salad ryvita (hexb) minis bit of salad, beetroot, onions, carrot, sweetcorn - may look up syn value of branston pickle
Dinner - sw quiche (onions peppers maybe bacon) sw chips, beans (pineapple or apple as a snack prefood or pudding)

Syns - probably a couple of sugars in teas,
    Evening treat of some sort
Probably 1 on tomato sauce on my quiche

    Hex a - 1/2 cheese 1/2 milk - for tea
Hexb- ryvita minis - best hexb ever!!!

Shamelessly stole the ploughmans idea off here and really fancy it :)

My sw tip is if I'm having a wet sandwich or beans/spaghetti etc i won't use spread or butter - Im a very conscious synner and prefer to use my syns on treats than butter which u can't really appreciate lol

Thanks for clarifying that joedenise - yes, you don't HAVE to have them before a meal but the superfree should be priority to eat - the veg soup sounds like a good idea! :)

In a sw recipe the other day it suggested using stock to make mash! Not a bad idea.
  • Hello! I have been doing sw since end of July and have lost about a stone. Been lurking on here for a while and I thought I would join up if that's ok? I am finding it harder now the weather is getting colder. I don't want fruit and salads now I just want stodge! I think I might benefit from the support on here.
On another note, do any of you find you get anxious when you stay with family and can't really control the food that is served?

ooh, ooh, ooh, new tip, hot off the press (literally)

Just went in the kitchen to find a snack and as i'm doing the shopping this afternoon it was pretty empty but I had some eggs, fancied a boiled egg and though I could put in the pan but couldn't really be bothered to wait. Then I thought of those microwave egg bolier things that you break an egg into and pop in the microwave, so I got a couple of the kids small plastic cups and broke an egg into each one, popped them in the microwave for 30 secs at first and then another 20 and although the yolk was part runny and part hard boiled they were still superb!! did another single one and it took about 40secs. Sometimes I fancy a boiled egg but a - don't want to use sysns for the bread and b - can't be bothered with all the faf, but that was brilliant, bolied eggs in less than a minute :j:j

    Hi ladies,
    good day......so far!!!!
    B - Weetabix mini's HEB?
L - jacket spud with tuna
    D - not sure yet
    HEA - milk for drinks

I am struggling with the idea's for breakfast. With 2 small children there is no time to be making much so it's got to be either cereal or toast. Then that's the healthy extra B used for the day though which means no bread at lunch time. I am used to having a sandwich with the kids at lunch. Anyone else struggle with this and time to make stuff and anyone have any suggestions?
I am also struggling with the superfree at the moment which is so unlike me as I usually eat loads of veg and fruit but I just find that I never have time to prepare it anymore. Really want this to work but am finding it so hard!

Lohman- my dd is 18months old so in the middle of your two. I used to have toast or coco pops pre sw. Now I have a banana /grapes/ strawberries/ an apple/ pineapple cut the night before... Sometimes a muller light depending on how hungry I am ?
My hexb is normally used on bread for a sandwich/ burger at dinner or ryvita minis? Lunch - batchelors savoury rice with onions peppers pickled beetroot/onions/gherkins etc all count as super free?batchelors pasta with the same or I make extra of a meal the night before ie a curry/ roast veg?
    Beans/spaghetti/eggs are free
    Bacon with mushrooms tomatoes?
Omelette with lots of veg in?

You could always have toast for breakfast and then syn some bread at lunch to have a sandwich???

If you've got a slow cooker how about the breakfast casserole on the SW website? You can get it all ready before you go to bed and then put it on low to cook overnight. Says it takes 10-12 hours.

Haven't tried it myself but one of the guys in my group swears by it and often has it for breakfast.
