Morning all :) I'm waiting for my train so I thought I'd take advantage of the free WiFi in the coffee shop to pop on and say hello :j
Thanks everyone :) just spoken to mum and she's making me some SW cheese scones and my quiche this morning :) she's even popping out specially to get me some HiFi bars bless her :) she is a star definitely- having lost 11 stone she knows every SW trick in the book and as she's a chef she knows how to make those extra little touches that make the recipes even more delicious :)
Have a good day everyone xxx

Enjoy your holiday, you'll have to pass some of your mum's tips onto us!

Lost 2.5lb today but put 0.5lb on last week, and never got on here to update, so+0.5lb -2.5lb thanks shala.

    Hi ladies,
So I'm trying to start SW and have the books but the extra easy booklet is not with them (don't know why as it was last time I had them out). I have looked at the first page and am OK with what it's all about. Except for - are the healthy extra's the same as in the original and green plans? I know to only choose 1 a and 1 b but wasn't sure if they were the same and the same amounts etc.
Anyway today feels doomed already as I had no breakfast (no time because of the kids) and for lunch I have just had 1 tin of lentil soup thinking that it would be a good choice. Horrified to read in SW books that it is 8 syns!!!! Feel like I'm never going to get anywhere with it and need some motivation!

Oh of course Mildredd, it's that bl00dy toad!!

Thanks, maman, you do talk a lot of sense :D

Talking about 'feeling' what you weigh - I'm 4 lbs off 'losing' my daughter.....I can barely carry her for more than 5 minutes now as she makes my arms ache - so how did I manage it when it was around my middle  No wonder knees & joints hurt when you're overweight!

Yes, same HE's, same weights/amounts etc :D Don't worry about the soup slip up today- I did the same with Sainsbury's chickpea dahl - the only soups that are HEb's are veg I think, but homemade soups are well worth batch cooking & shoving into the freezedr in portions - and they are syn free :D

    hi all,

I know i'm more of a lurker than a contributer but i realy need some help!!

I've been doing Slimming World since February and lost about 10 pounds quite easily. I then wasn't doing it right, i know where i went wrong, and gained a bit of weight back. I started doing it properly from last thursday and went back to get weighed today and I've put ON half a pound...I really really don't understand, I've been following everything to the letter and watching syns really carefully...does anyone know how this can happen?! I'm really disheartened and upset, I don't know how I'm going to loose weight now.

    Thanks xx

It could be just a body thing - don't worry about it yet! You could post your daily foods on here to see if we could spot anything incidental, but I'd mainly say keep at it & there's only something wrong if you don't see a loss next week. Annoying I know, but I've quite regularly gained in my 2nd week of starting SW but go on to lose a good bit.

What colour is the cover of your main book lohman. They vary depending on when produced.

My book is like this green one from 2011

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQqtWBycwIgkPIXMGms62p5-dsi2D42nrNJcGAEVC6wmneAWBau

but the 2012 books were orange and the amounts had changed slightly for the better. I have access to the website as a target member so I can look up anything for you.

It's only the tinned soups that have syns. I make HM lentil and vegetable and that's completely free. There are a few soups (like Asda CBY minestrone and Co-op Simply Value Vegetable) that you can have a whole can for a HEB but mostly it's half a can.

All I'd suggest to you (and moomin) is that you keep asking questions and post your meal plans so we can try to help.

Good EE day for me today, must get back on track after yesterdays food fest.;)

B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas, baked beans
L: HM beef and vegetable soup
D: liver, onions, cabbage, red cabbage, peas, carrots, mash
    Syns: gravy

    Hi
I am a lurker and love reading everyone's lovely menu's for the day. I am trying to get rid of one stone before Christmas. I am going to do the 12 week countdown this week and try to do my best.
I lost 1 and a half this week and was a bit upset with this as it has been ages since I was at class and in control. I wrote down every thing and still had some sins left at the end of the week. I hope you don't mind if I write my menu's for the day here for a bit. I think I may be a bit short of the super free's but struggle to eat these as I have huge portions when I do eat. I have also bought an acti fry this week and we have had sw chips twice with it. Todays were lovely and I am happy that we have bought it. Well here goes
Tues B oats, banana and a muller light
A half a pint of skimmed milk

Chicken, SW chips, Peas and salad
Sins caramel chew chew 12 and rocky road 3
    Wed
B Oats, Muller light and banana,A Half pint of skimmed milk

    SW Chips and beans, apple
Pasta n Sauce, Savoury Rice and Peas, salad
Sins Rocky Road 3 and McVitie Jaffa Cake Bar 4 and a half

Thurs B Oats, Banana, Muller light A Half pint skimmed milk

Muller light, Banana, Grapes and an apple

Chicken, SW chips, peas, salad and two fried eggs in fried light

Sins McVities jaffa cake bar 4 and a half
Thank you for having a look and for all the tips and advice.
