    Heellloooo everyone!!!!

I weighed in on Monday but haven't had chance to post til now, I lost 2lb, dead pleased with that, that's 7lb in 2and a half weeks now.

I don't go to class, I do it all at home, but I find this thread and all of you invaluable for advice, support menu ideas etc. I love looking at peoples menus as when I get stuck in a rut or bored I can always get some new ideas from here, and the best thing that someones menu helped me with the other day was to not burn my SW quiche - I made one and put it in the oven, then promptly forgot about it, then I was reading someones menu and they had had sw quiche and I suddenly lept up and ran to the kitchen, it was a rather dark brown colour but other than that was fine!!!!

I thought we could maybe all share some ideas on our favourite/staple SW friendly things we have or make and any tips that you might have, for example I recently found out a brilliant tip for doing mash, this might be old hat for you guys but I'm still relatively new to it all but here goes:

I hate wasting syns on marg and milk when I make mash but find that with nothing added the mash is really dry and just tastes boring, so what I do now is boil up a mixture of normal potatoes and sweet potatoes and the sweet potatoes seem to hold onto some water so when you mash them they make a really good consistency and I only need to add salt and pepper and it tastes lurvly!!

I'm looking forward to getting so good ideas from you lovely lot (if you all want to share) :D

My books are from 2008!! So have a red cover one side and green the other. It's branded things that I am going to struggle with. Like for example, I have some ski yoghurts in the fridge so if I wanted one do I count it as a low fat fruit yoghurt as in my book for 1.5 syn per 100g (making it 2syn for 1 yoghurt)? And so many other things that don't seem to be in my book.
    Today's menu...
B - nothing - too busy with the kids
    L - whole tin lentil soup - 8 syns!!!!
D - jacket potatoes with beans and small amount cheddar cheese HEB??
HEA - semi skimmed milk for drinks - 1/2 pint
    That's all so far

Ski yogurts are 3 syns a pot, all varieties according to the syns on line list.

I'd say your menu for today looks closest to a Green day as no meat and no suprefree fruit or veg. I understand why you didn't have breakfast but you haven't really eaten enough today. Although you don't have to eat the one third of fruit and veg on Green, it really does help. And green allows you an extra HEA and HEB. It's 250 mls of semi-skimmed for a HEA so with your half pint and the cheese (allowed 30g) you've probably covered your HEAs. HEBs are the bread/cereal/crackers type and you've not had those.

HTH although it really would be useful if you could go to just one session and get new books and an introductory talk. Most groups really push Extra Easy these days which, unless you're a veggie, is what most people do. If you can't why not look at the 7 day sample menu plan.

:Tto losers, and sorry you're not one of them beanie (me neither this week;)).

6 Week Awesome in Autumn Challenge Day 33 Week 5

    Friday 11th October
Well, nearly another week over. Only one more in the Autumn Challenge. I think we've all done really well :T

Really sorry I haven't been posting much. I'm still on track foodwise, just so busy and then so tired I just can't be bothered ;) As we still have only one car in the family that's working, I'm having to drive Mr Frog to work at whatever time he starts, sometimes 2am, and then I struggle to get back to sleep again so I often don't bother. Or I'm just nodding off by 6am and that's when I should get up anyway :o

I can't moan and make a fuss as it puts more pressure on poor old Mr Frog to fix Tadpole 1's car. He spent all weekend last week getting the engine out, and will spend all weekend this week putting the new one in. And he's a full time Long Distance Lorry Driver, and he has severe Rhumatoid Arthritis :( To be honest I'm just glad it's not making me eat :o

Anyway, hope you are all ok, I'll try and post my menu tonight, stupidly busy at school as we are moving to our new building in 2 weeks and we've had inspectors crawling all over us. Some of my collegues are so cheesed off. It's a very stressful time.

Have a good day people, soon be Christmas ;)

Just typed a post and managed to delete it!!

    So here I go again!

A sts for me last night (sob) lol:(

Think I am getting a bit complacent with it and going too wild at the weekends and then not being able to claw it back enough.

So back to basics today writing everything down and boosting the superfree. Hopefully will have a good loss for the final week of the challenge.

    B: Muller & Pineapple
L: Mug shot, Hi Fi Bar (HE) & more Pineapple
D: Chicken Curry with Peppers, Onions & Peas, Brown Rice

Syns: Gin & Diet Tonics & Monster Munch Bacon Webs (random) 4 syns

    Good luck to all today.

Having another Green day today mainly because my lunch is LO cauli dansk from yesterday!

    B - mushroom omlette
L - LO cauliflower dansk, rice
    D - Fish pasta bake

Snacks - carrot sticks, bananas, melon, plums
HEA1 - milk in tea throughout the day; HEA2 - milk for white sauce
    HEB1 - cheese for fish pie topping; HEB2 - 0.5 salmon/0.5 white fish/smoked haddock
Syns - cornflour for sauce 2; butter for sauce 2. Not sure what else but possibly a glass or 2 of wine so either 6 or 12 syns, so if I have 2 glasses will go over by 1 syn but easy enough to pull back during the week.

Hi marco, yes you are very light on the superfree!! One third of the plate at every meal you eat should be superfree (pea's don't count) - so you shouldn't be struggling to eat them, as they should be part of your meals (or if having fruit have it BEFORE your meal as these are the bits you should fill up on first).

Welcome & good luck on your stone for Christmas - certainly doable! :D

    C xx
Thanks Skint Catt I did not know that you had to have them before the meal and I will try this the rest of the week. A stone seems so easy but it is oh so hard when I lose soooo slow.

Skint Catt isn't saying you have to have fruit before your meal just making the suggestion. Personally I would rather eat a bowl of vegetable soup before a meal as I wouldn't want something sweet before eating my main meal - just seems the wrong way round to me!

You really ought to try to eat a good selection of fruit and vegetables - I noticed you only seem to be having peas with your dinner which, as Skint says, isn't a Superfree veg. I think lots of variety is the key to not getting bored and also leads to better weight loss.
