Advent calendar - I have a count down snowman and a nativity scene advent calendar plus dd will have her advent calendar and truthfully I often forget a day and end up having 5 or more little gross chocs in one sitting? If I remember every day then its one syn - I googled it said one syn per advent choc? I'd rather have that syn in a big bar instead :) or forgo the crappy choc and have a cheeky takeaway ;)

I am off the wagon today have tried some damage limitation this morning with fruit and will have a fruity supper tea when I get in later
Have about 60- 70 syns banked and a quick syn search online suggested the items I selected on the buffet wouldn't be too bad
Oh well this is life and if tomorrow's a gain its a gain one week out of the rest of my life isn't a big drama really x

Fingers crossed the dd doesn't say her new word in church anyways

Have a good Sunday all x ill be back on it tomorrow promise :)

Good attitude Mildredd  you sound like you're not stressing about it all, that is defo the way to go :D

Welcome Cacher and Cande :T Glad you posted and stop ear wigging without joining in :D

I really really relate to the scales story. Been there done that, didn't just wear the t shirt, I printed the bloody t shirt and then ironed it too ;)

I think there is alot to be said for allowing the 10 year old out to stamp her feet. It'll make you feel better. And a consolation binge is always helpful. Now you've done that, put it behind you, get over it, get on. You didn't kill anyone, you didn't hurt anyone, you didn't steal. or lie or cheat. You overate. So what? It's no biggy. Tomorrow is another day and all that...

We are all really good at Catastrophising our eating. Tonight you should look at all the stars in the sky. Look at the universe in it's vastness. Think about how long it's been there, and how much more there will be once we are all long gone and forgotten. Remember how very small and insignificant we all are. Does it really matter that we are a little bit chubbier than others. Me thinks not :D

cacher, I understand exactly how you must be feeling and it takes a bit of mental readjustment. So if stamping your feet's your thing then go for it!:) Meantime, you've still lost 3+stone, you just didn't realise you'd got the starting weight wrong. I think most of us have been horrified when we found out starting weight so maybe you're lucky to have been protected from it. At least now you know how to get that weight off. Do join us, you'd be very welcome.

I think it's great that we're already thinking of plans for Christmas. mildredd, so saving syns isn't for you but I think sometimes it's worth saving on the day for a meal out in the evening. Lots of the Christmas things will only involve one meal, so let's have loads of suprefree/superspeedy meals around that. As for Christmas lunch, I made my own pigs in blankets from half syn sausages and lean bacon then you don't need to ration. Plus all the family had SW roast parsnips and potatoes so no rationing needed there either.

    Blod's on holiday BTW.

EE for me today and it's a lamb roast without all visible fat removed.;) Am being good and just having a bite of Crunchie at the football, DH thinks I'm saintly (in more ways than one!;)).

  • I made a SW carrot cake this morning and it is yummy and only 1 syn per slice or 5 syns for the whole cake. It has mincemeat and mixed spice in so reminds me of Christmas. If anyone wants the recipe let me know.

Last night I had roast chicken (skin removed), jacket potato, cabbage cooked with onion and bacon, Aunt Bessie carrot and swede mash, sweetcorn and a small amount of gravy, yum yum. I didn't realise that the AB carrot and swede mash was free on all plans as it tastes quite buttery.

The Toad is a horrible demon inside my head who encourages me to binge. I think you humans have 'a Devil on your shoulder' who is a similar distraction. Well 'The Toad' hasn't visited my head for a long time, and that must be down to having a little bit when I need it and then stopping. I can't go cold turkey. Maybe this will help with my usual Christmas Pig Fest. Maybe I'll tone in down this year because I haven't been depriving myself?

Where is Blodwen by the way? Oh, and if the Toad visits you, just don't let him in, but DO NOT send him back to me! Last time I saw him he was heading for Catt's house :(

Thanks for sending him my way! :p I've been pretty good so far so I hope he doesn't reach me anytime soon, though Tuesday onwards will be my danger time as I weigh in this week, then I'm away for a week from class/support etc so I'll think, 'oh I can eat what I want & get away with it'

I didn't send him, I wouldn't be so cruel, he just 'tries it on' with anyone he thinks has a tendancy to fall off the wagon. He might try Beanie if you tell him to p1$$ off ;)

    SW carrot cake

    Cake
    125g quark
    100g grated carrot
    28g smash
    9g sweetener
    3 eggs
    2 tbsp mincemeat
    4 tsps. mixed spice
    1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp orange flavouring (I used orange flavoured water from Mr T baking section as couldn't find orange essence)

    Topping
    2 tbsp. sweetener
    125g quark
    1 tsp orange flavouring

Mix all the cake ingredients together. Spray a 7" dish with frylight and put the cake mixture in there and microwave on full power for about 8-10 minutes. Just keep checking, the cake shouldn't have any liquid left on the top and it should be springy to the touch. When cooked turn the cake out and cool on a cooling rack.

While the cake is cooling mix together the topping ingredients and keep in the fridge. When the cake is cool spread the topping on and cut into 5 slices. Each slice works out as 1 syn each.

    Enjoy
