I'm glad I don't really drink, the last time I had a drink was before the school holidays when we had the really hot weather and I hadn't had much to drink before then either.

I've now got 2 bottles of Lambrini (don't like any 'grown up' wine!!) but can't bring myself to waste syns on something that isn't even food :rotfl:

    Magicbucks,

i'm hoping that I can do better this Christmas and I'm going to try and break the habit of a lifetime by not buying enough food to feed the 5 thousand, we end up eating xmas food til mid January if not even longer!!!

I will be making a xmas pudding but this won't be a problem as I can't stand the stuff, I only make it for the OH - who says he loves it.

My biggest downfall is mince pies, I quite often end up having a few boxes weeks before xmas as bl00dy Tescos have them in the shops so early

Catt - I've been trying to have as few syns as possible all week? I normally have 10ish a day so I have leeway should I need a big treat at night. Had a couple of days with like 3 syns n its been ridiculous.
    I'm never saving syns again!!!
This feeling is why I don't stick at diets :(
Next time I'm calling a flexi day and my consultant can kiss my bum that saving syns is better coz for me this is low right now :(

Christmas my plan was try n be as sw friendly as possible for as long as possible but my whole sw thing I've said all along ill only do it if I can still live a normal life and just make better choices ie last night I declined pizza and had a sw dinner n then a pack of stars? I was hoping to do the same for Xmas? Eat reasonably well the rest of December and have days earmarked where I know ill stray off the path a bit but I was planning on saving syns for those days but I'm not doing that?! So ill just flexi those days which are going to equal one a week in December :( 2 trips to gullivers world with sit down roast dinners - my birthday (cake and a takeaway) - Xmas day n Boxing Day roasts and New Year's Day roast too x although I guess roasts aren't too bad really and the leftover meat I can snack on - just have to reduce pigs in blankets n gravy on my plate!
Rambling now sorry feel like poop and to make matters even worse, I've just 'tidied' up my eyebrows - the right one looks positively startled or surprised :(

Realy??!! That's all part of Christmas though! No Advent Calendar? Surely that's a step too far?? The chocs are SO SMALL they can't have more than 1 syn??

I'm completely with Frogga on this one
I agree with you the chocs are never that nice but you have to live and you know what

If people start doing that type of stuff then you resent the diet and also it takes away from christmas

Let's look at the big picture :-) really focus on the here and now and do some great weeks and you know what and it's only a suggestion but maybe if we all did some success express days in the lead up to christmas as well for some extra welly

you start doing stuff like that and if you are anything like me when it comes to food then I'd say sod that I can't be bothered

How about the following sorry this is just magic bucks thinking out loud

Write down all the things you love about christmas whether food drink related or not

Then think I'm going to enjoy these over the holiday but think of it like the build up to a race

We have ten weeks or however many to get in training before hand so as to create some leeway for yourself and also ask yourself how many days are you realistically talking about for christmas 2 a week 2 weeks it'
Will be different for all but let's all get some credits in the bank account weight bank account more to minimise christmas overall damage

I think I am going to dsuccess express for the 2 weeks at start december to create my extra bit of give but there is no way I would not allow myself the things that are pat of Christmas

Sorry does that all sound ok

Great to see you magic  I know what you mean about having to keep on living. I'm hoping this won't be tempting fate, but I've not even been tempted to binge lately, and I'm sure it must be because I followed the advice of Blodwen, Maman and TIE which was to have some chocolate everyday. I only have a little, as an evening treat, but it's keeping 'The Toad' at bay.

The Toad is a horrible demon inside my head who encourages me to binge. I think you humans have 'a Devil on your shoulder' who is a similar distraction. Well 'The Toad' hasn't visited my head for a long time, and that must be down to having a little bit when I need it and then stopping. I can't go cold turkey. Maybe this will help with my usual Christmas Pig Fest. Maybe I'll tone in down this year because I haven't been depriving myself?

Where is Blodwen by the way? Oh, and if the Toad visits you, just don't let him in, but DO NOT send him back to me! Last time I saw him he was heading for Catt's house :(

We've got 2 weeks left of the Ausome in Autumn Challenge, then a week off, then it's a full on 8 weeks until Christmas so full steam ahead!
Like Magic says, we can shift LOADS before then to make way for a few little yummies at Christmas without going totally mental and eating anything that doesn't move quick enough ;)

  • Ladies,

I have been 'lurking' for some time and doing well with the support gained from reading all your lovely posts. At least until now
. I think you are the ONLY people who will understand my tale of woe; I have been following the SW plan loosely and have lost 3 stone ish. Woohoo! I hear you all applaud. However my bathroom scales are somewhat temperamental and after gaining half a stone overnight I figured it was time for a new set. So brand new scales duly set and stood on. WHAT??? That can't be right. But no matter how many times I've got off and on them, how many different positions I've put them in, they stubbornly refuse to change. They are spot on the same weight every time. Trouble is.. Its 3 and a half stone heavier than my old ones. I'm SO fed up. DH says it makes no difference the weight has still been lost. The sensible part of me knows he's right. But I can't shut up the 10yr old inside this 48 yr old woman who wants to cry and stamp her (fat) feet! Anyway... Last night's reactive gorge is over and today's a new day and all that. Thanks for listening guys and well done on your losses. You are all inspirational. Keep up the good work!
